Every now and again I buy one of these Dinkys to use as a wheel donor, then decide I can't bring myself to do it

Your 944 is made by Starter Models, who produce resin kits, primarily of various classes of racing cars in 1/43 scale (I think they also produce some in 1/24 or 1/18 scale as well)

I have a few of those Dinky single seaters, also for use as wheel donors. The bonus is some of them, like yours, also come with a fairly detailed 8 cylinder engine block as well, ideal for making hot rods / open engined models

I don’t know why but you never see these in good condition.

Isn't there supposed to be an ultra rare variation with the colours reversed (green cab & yellow body)?

There is, a genuine one is worth several hundred possibly more.

About as good as I've ever found

Matchbox Superfast 16 Dodge Wreck Truck

The regular wheel ones, always battered

Matchbox 16d Dodge Wreck Truck

Don't know if I kept the pic but I saw a FB post from one of those nutters who just collects one casting, probably a hundred of them including one of the green/yellow instead of yellow/green versions

I don’t think they’d be that difficult to forge either.

I'm told there are physical differences, rather than just the colours. If I find one, I'll let you know!

Another late night delivery of an expensive Hot Wheels.

This one sold out almost immediately in the UK, I think my brother managed to order it from the US, somehow. I'm not the biggest Cobra fan but the colour and interior made me want it.

I've had this Dodge since the '90s/00s, apparently cost me £10:

Finished and photographed the SC400 yesterday, starting with the contents of this not very promising-looking box:

1:24 Aoshima Lexus SC400 / Soarer kit

Converted to Lexus-spec using decals from a Fujimi kit, with wheels from a Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Now to get back onto the Monogram 1970 Chevelles, but unfortunately I'll have the wrong sort of paint brush in my hand this afternoon (finishing off some shelves, and they're not even for displaying/storing miniature tat).

I always wanted the London to Sydney Hunter when I was a kid and my Grandad had a Triumph 1300 , not a bad haul for £15. Did a better job of lifting my spirits than the £50 a week I pay a fucking therapist anyway.

Looking f or an AA battery to see if the Merc’s lights work.

That's a bargain. Love the Vitesse - not one I've owned... must resist searching on ebay...

A few bits of today's tat, starting with a truly terrible recovery truck, just because it has my initials in it. Having written that, I might have bought one before!

Lower valances, lights etc have been painted by a previous owner. I took it apart to clean it and there's not a maker's mark anywhere. Friction motor works though

Seller told me it was Argentinian, I took it with a pinch of salt but the plate is in the correct format for the time, Rio Negro province to be precise

Just had it pointed out that the Matchbox Easy Rider has a fairly obvious casting change I've failed to notice before, where the frame comes up to meet the top of the forks

All these boot-sale bargains... I'm in the US and today I've even been to the Daytona Flea Market.  And it's a washout!  I'd be fine if I was interested in new/recent Hot Wheels, but I'm not, much.  What I would be interested in is 1/18 American cars - seen some but nothing that tempted me - or 1/43 American cars, preferably resto projects, preferably including a few 1980s Dodge Diplomats.  And there's nothing.

All this travelling (there are stories, you just wait!) and what have I got to show for it?  A handful of T-shirts.  Bah humbug.
