Pulled my other red Matchbox Volvo out of the display case to see which was best, and they're different. Not just the shade of red, one has the bumper tops chromed and one doesn't

Good, now I can justify keeping both. Bought this 3500 today, it's a nice one

Land Rover was in a £1 box and confirms the canopies in my junk box are for these

Adams Probe was a bit more, but it's been well looked after

This was my big purchase of the day at £10, but it's a version of the Dinky Range Rover I've not come across previously and is complete with "passenger"

In the world of the small, we have a cute Lesney Thames. Definitely want to repaint one of these (but not this one)

However this Mercedes is definitely at a point of needing some help

I'm still thinking about taking the windscreen from one of these Rolls Royces and cutting it down to fit my custom Corniche - but it's a Superfast, quite unusual...

I always pick up a weirdo, and this friction motored FWD oddity is it. The motor drives a shaft which pokes out of the back, presumably once had a fan attached

Found another ERTL Speed Strips

As it's screwed together, I aligned the images so I could photograph them

I don't really go for the vintage style Hot Wheels blackwalls anymore, but this Rolls Royce was a new one to me, and just 50p

As was this Hare Splitter

I had to pay double that for a boxed Matchbox, seen a Street Streak before?

Another boxed one, seller had half a dozen different two packs, but the ex-Corgi BMW was what caught my eye here

As @bunglebus mentioned some bargains today, this picture owes me a £10 (but this is all post soapy water and autoglym!) and even settled up my tat account in person with Rich despite crossing paths several time’s recently!

If any of our Norev engineers want to recreate a R16 bonnet I can pop the 16 in the post, its a crisp little thing 👍

How ever bar some Hotwheels, this was my treat - a full fat Dinky Shadow for not much at all, sure its playworm but everything opens and it weighs a tonne! A well detailed one of these with a chrome pen would be fabulous.

No more Rolls Royce purchasing this month (bar the one nobody’s seen yet!)

Nice haul, I love Norevs and the Dinky Rolls is great! I'll have a look and see if I have a Norev R16 like that to copy a bonnet from, I know I have a newer one with fixed bonnet, but not sure so I'll get back to you.

That Norev 16 was re-released in the nineties and I think again for the Century of cars, I have one. Quite a nice rendition of it.

I went to a toy fair this morning as a spur of the moment thing and went a bit mad...

It was at a Steam museum and there were only seven stalls

From a seller I usually get Conrad VWs from

A seller I've never seen before had all these

I have a Dinky Variant, French Dinky R16, Corgi Cortina and Beetle already, but they were a good price, Dinky Fiat and Renner may be available.

I really don't know the small scale stuff, but picked up these, let me know if you want any of them

I had a Lone Star Taunus as a kid (in orange) so wanted this one the Zodiac may be available

Most of these for Eddy

Eddy wants the Rolls and decapitated Cortina, others may be available

I'll probably keep the Corgi Supra for now

 

More small stuff if you want it and a Solido R30 to go with the Norevs I have

Nice and interesting to me a Hot Wheels 1/43 Golf Cabrio

I got it free with the Norev Jag coming up below

Had a few bits arrive today, mostly Corgis except this Siku Caddy, which is tatty enough to warrant a repaint

All the rest are Corgis, including a white Metro I don't remember seeing before

On the workbench is a Lesney Impala. First order of business is removing the alignment marks for the taxi stickers

I love these old castings, there was no need to go to such extremes detailing the badges, lights etc, but they did, and I'm thankful

I mentioned a few weeks ago an old chap at the boot sale with some nice cars, and he mentioned he had lots more at home. I got a call off him yesterday, and went to have a look. After some negotiation and gentle persuasion that Google isn't the be all and end all when it comes to prices, we struck a deal...

The mrs thinks she's funny

I think it might take me a while to sort that lot, there are some definite goodies in there, and of course some bloody Yesteryears etc.

Looks pretty cool in the raw. For their age & size, Matchbox / Lesney diecasts of this era seem to carry more detail and feel more substantial to hold, than their modern counterparts.
