Blue and pink Mk2 Cortinas and the green Lesney Volkswagen Samba bus is you're selling please.

Mrs Concern has claimed the VW Bus to go with the other one she has

IMG_3092.JPG.06c6b98745d6e6fa4ffaa691e038fc16.JPG

Cortinas are still available if you want them, one was £1 and one £3, but both are pretty nice

IMG_3111.JPG.d6090264ab2635be206f16f55eab1f31.JPG

I think postage with Evri is about £3 (possibly £2.70?)

PF Modulo if still available please

I thought this was quite interesting, I've looked on ebay and they seem to be about £30 so I'll have to charge you £1.

The canopy still opens, but the pull back and go doesn't.

Would you still like the smashed up Mebetoys Rolls? I've looked at ebay and the cheapest one is £150 so I'll l et you have it for £1

@matt79 Id be interested in the blue Zephyr / Zodiac  estate if its available?

It was £3 if you want it and as above I think the postage is something like £2.70 on Evri, Let me know

While we are on wants, I remember giving @Split_Pin first refusal on a Dinky Chrysler Saratoga. Well it's sat in a cupboard since then so if you want it let me know. I paid £10.

One of the interesting (to me at least) from my buys yesterday was this Pilen

IMG_3095.JPG.669f4e18dcb1eaf682ded8834e33ca3e.JPG

Missing the boot lid and cracked screen

IMG_3096.JPG.9682fc7230ea37bb85289e098eb3d520.JPG

It is apparently their rendition of Kitt from Knight Rider! I've never seen it, but even I thought it was meant to be a Firebird!

https://toysfromthepast.blogspot.com/2017/04/797-pilen-coche-fantastico-kitt-knight.html

IMG_3097.JPG.0edf2eca1c671e70b93e03d3016a2383.JPG

Another buy was a Dinky VW Variant for a reasonable £6, I have a better one I got from Dan and compared them

They both have one door card missing so I think I'll put both originals on the best one and try making some repro ones with resin. The new one has a clear engine cover and one from Dan doesn't, not sure if it should or not.

IMG_3099.JPG.79df49c99b1fa8bb1a69910b612c3ce7.JPG

The one from Dan is missing the steering wheel so that will get swapped too. Also interesting that the spare wheel is smooth on one and has tread on the other

IMG_3101.JPG.caa67f5845f1f48e6f0db9b55ffc8784.JPG

Also for £6 was a very good Corgi VW African Safari Beetle, I already had one not so good (but cost more)

IMG_3102.JPG.9a46c9adc9c8fb9d0355a3e94bb652e2.JPG

The new one is a much more red kind of orange

IMG_3103.JPG.5cefc9d83d34ac1f842eb53645254fb5.JPG

Also the decals are in much better condition

IMG_3104.JPG.702709d5115526d0d17be1da7bab1947.JPG

I remember someone the other day showing a very poor rendition of a steering wheel, I think on a small scale model, well have a look at the (supposedly) 1/43 (looks bigger to me) Hot Wheels Golf Cabrio

Crikey that’s a scarce find over these waters

The real thing was based around the Opel Diplomat, with Corvette engine option, initially German market only.

Intermeccanica Indra, from 1971.

127 built and only stopped there (as there were many more orders) because GM pulled supply of the engine because a sales threat to Corvette

Good finds on the red VWs up there ^

The Dinky fastbacks always seem to lose door cards, nice to see that clear engine cover still in place

I wonder which was first, treaded or smooth spare tyre?

Thank you, that's the sort of thing I need. Main problem is everything is too big, I normally use the Pixar Cars ones like this

Trouble is the Lesney era Impala is noticeablely smaller than modern Hot Wheels etc, so they look huge. Lowriders have small wheels. Current choices are the very small diameter Hot Wheels ones from something like the Civic or Mighty K but the style is wrong

Agreed, those Pixar cars are around 1/55 scale, slightly larger than modern hotwheels etc. another option maybe is to find an Oxford diecast 1/76 scale MG, I think they came with 'wire' wheels...might be too small though?

I’m sure that Lesney Impala is around 1:76ish scale. Definitely worth looking at Oxford Diecast or possibly Cararama 1:72 stuff as wheel donors.

Oxford also do a range of 1:87 (HO gauge) American cars which might be worth a look…

Looks like I've started something with my Impala custom! Deja vu seeing one in bare metal and I have to agree it's a superb casting.

Wheels are a problem though. That's why I went the opposite way for big alloys and a potential entry in the 'shit modern wheels on old cars' thread. Scale is about 1/72 so wheels from something like an MGB in 1/76 might give the tiny lowrider wheel look.

Here it is again for those who missed it the first time.

You're welcome to the remains. I bought several at my local boot sale a few years ago from the original owner's mum, all clearly in very nice condition before some "customising" had taken place. I put them in the spares box in case I needed parts one day

I have a few of those Joy City S-classes that look suspiciously similar to the Cararama version, as in either copied or made from the same tooling. Never seen one with those wheels or a towbar before, or the buggy and trailer.
