Well spotted! I’ve never seen that before. Definitely the set back axle version and shows the difference well. I’m still not sure why it was necessary.

My mum used to live not too far from the International Harvester factory in Doncaster. Must have been in the late 60’s I think, just before my grandad got posted to RAF Akrotiri and they moved to Cyprus.
As you say, International stuff was quite popular over here. There used to be loads of tractors and plant equipment around. I’ve definitely seen some International Loadstar trucks with UK plates too. Dunno how/if they differ from the American versions though? I know the American ones had petrol V8 options (Chevy I think) as well as Cummins and Detroit diesel engines. I can’t imagine the petrol V8 would have been very popular in this part of the world given how bad the fuel economy must have been.

Donny had a place that sold Belaz trucks, very heavy duty off highway jobs.

They did. I can’t remember the name, but it was an importer who converted them to UK spec. Not all of them were actually Belaz trucks though, they imported various Soviet trucks & plant which usually used the Belaz brand and badges regardless of their original manufacturer name. Kraz trucks being one of them.

New one on me but at the time I wouldn’t of been interested as I was probably up to my eye balls with DIY as I’d only bought my house a couple of years earlier and it needed gutting!

Yeah we've all been there, sometimes diecasts have to take a back seat for other things.

Was a very promising range widely available at the time and then Corgi just pulled the plug!

Went to Ford market this morning and picked up a few interesting toys.

Lovely Bburago 1/24 StreetKa picked up for @155V6

IMG_1389.JPG.ce58a85fc0a77e1767cbd20b1ebcc994.JPG

Barely a mark on it and a good buy for £3 I think

IMG_1390.JPG.c23ebadda5773384118b48618184aee2.JPG

The steering wheel turns as well as front wheels

IMG_1391.JPG.8d379de27f3f490654f8099032f94461.JPG

My favourite seller from toy fairs was there, but I only bought this in terrible condition, but for only £1

IMG_1392.JPG.cea2ae557ff0821edb1e987741e2315c.JPG

I think it's 1/25, but pretty small, any interest @Split_Pin? If not I'll probably get around to it myself at some point.

I was expecting it to be a Bburago or Polistil, but...

King Size Charger dragster and Corgi standard wheels Toronado for £2 each

and lastly a not half bad Corgi rozza SD1

Missing steering wheel and parcel shelf, but only 50p!

Here they all are, see how small the Visa is

I'd happily give a home to a Guisval as well

I’m looking for you Iain, off up to the Mercadona tomorrow you never know. Those Guisvals are ropey as fuck now though the moulds are knackered! But… if you can find one it’s a blast from the past.

I've noticed Moving Parts supply seems to have stalled here despite doing really well last year with virtually no missed batches.

I've been told one of the biggest UK Matchbox suppliers are still saturated with 2025 Case B basics so goodness knows whether we will ever see that red Jaguar!

Didn't find much more at the second one, think everyone's doing family stuff today

Corgi have been doing a clearance sale.

IMG_20250329_140551.jpg.a7ca3040a5d5704c7b2fedaeb523fd0a.jpg

This was on there with  55% off the RRP. I had £6 worth of reward points to cash in as well, so ended up getting it for £12 which isnt bad for a brand new Vanguards. Especially as this model is BIG. And heavy.

Strange really, despite the fact that I've been driving commercial vehicles for a living for the last 25 years, I've never really gone for collecting models of vans. I've got a few Vanguards Mk1 Transits but they were just to complete the Boy Racer and Hidden Treasures collections. I suppose I don't really want to head on down another  slippery slope for reasons of space, budget, sanity...

(Saying that, I do keep on rubbing my thighs at those Ixo Transit Mk2, DTV Bedford CF and Freight Rover 400 rally support vans though.)

IMG_20250329_140347.jpg.9e85e48ea3d937e72b3efb52f2dcf0a1.jpg

Bit of a modern compared to the subjects I normally go for, but it fits into the normal, everyday stuff category. There are certainly enough of these things on the road, and surprisingly quite a lot in this lairy coloured, striped-up, bodykitted Sport guise. I deliver to a few one-man tradie types, kitchen fitters, plumbers, etc and quite a few of them have these poshed-up Tranny Customs as dual purpose vehicles, to use for work and as family transport.

IMG_20250329_140522.jpg.3c800b4ee9546342af7885c5ae1b2610.jpg

Detailing is good, especially the lights and the Ford badges. Loses points on not having a Raptor style FORD grille though...

IMG_20250329_141559.jpg.fc9498289525eb6253ab953f6322572c.jpg

I couldnt resist getting it's circa 1976 counterpart out. Lairy paint and flashy wheels? Been done before m8!

IMG_20250329_141857.jpg.ba1a9fc5144007c82aa18c0a4edb45ae.jpg

Considering these are both apparently 1/43 scale, it shows how big modern vehicles have become,

Fairly slim pickings today, I think a lot of people were doing mother's day obligation stuff.

Eddy does, please and thank you!

I never had that model when it was current, but probably two years ago I found the milk float variant on ebay, with the windscreen smashed.  Then I discovered the window unit isn't available on the repro market.  Oh great.  I have a cab I've stripped and painted, along with a chassis and milk float body that may or may not be re-used eventually.

So that wrecker is gorgeous, thank you sir!

Right, today was the first day here in Brussels I actually got to do anything on my own. I popped out and decided to go for a drive. First place will be in another non-vehicle thread later on.

Of course, one of the first places I was due to visit was Pêle-Mêle, I had a couple of different places to go beforehand.

Anyway, there sadly isn't much in stock and even less that interests me. I can get stuff if anyone is interested but I am on a STRICT budget (this actually means that I have little money to cover bills coming out tomorrow so a few things will bounce, I get paid weekly so not a biggie. There was a 1/18 M3 that I wanted to buy at 35€ but even though I have the money now, I can't justify it. Besides, there's probably one in Carrefour or something. Car dumped in square and here we are:

MSZ 1:64 three car sets now appearing at Poundstretcher and half the price of what B&M Bargains sell them for. Under £1 for a licensed diecast car with full interior and working suspension makes them quite a bargain.
