How about Gasser.

I do apologise, but just think what you’ll have when you get one!😄

NO. That'd be like dressing your nan up in latex.

Nan regularly dresses herself in latex, she doesn’t any help.  We have no control over the situation.

Toy fair at Maidstone market today and not as good as I had been lead to believe with everything being a bit on the pricey side so I didn't buy anything.

Well not much anyway...

IMG_9202.JPG.61e0c319c82f61b18a8db27b9805c946.JPG

I started with this £4 Spot on Volvo 122 repainted in lovely bright yellow with black bonnet, rally stylee

IMG_9175.JPG.c0c262696ba054cc60274c4dfda8dbc0.JPG

Missing grill bumpers and sunroof, but hey, Spot On!

IMG_9176.JPG.c4dddce7e23ffd8c4b856a50ef7d2f87.JPG

Next at various prices, but came to £16 for the eight

IMG_9178.JPG.22f64cf450b85fc2116efd691b03a2c0.JPG

Dinky Alfa is a bit bent but may be able to straighten it out

IMG_9179.JPG.1bac8eed0157ae3bf6a467cdcb160550.JPG

Next Vanguards vans and a Joal CX for £9

IMG_9180.JPG.0816a53da7a7ff9c37ec4fb0431026b9.JPG

I'm thinking Eddy will want the Vanguards.

IMG_9181.JPG.06176f45fb5fdc6618b21b1c770c20c1.JPG

This dealer edition Volvo 480 was pricey at £8 and will go in my C30 collection. Pressing down on the front opens the lights, I did take a pic but my hand was so grubby I deleted it!

IMG_9183.JPG.28fc95722bf641399ac5fc7ab17ca6a2.JPG

Says AHC on the base and apparently made by Auto Pilen which is why it's so nice...

IMG_9184.JPG.53564a7898478285f7f55f9fb131c147.JPG

This lot ranged in price from £7 to £2 including a French cyclist model for Mrs Concern, it came to £32 but he let us have them for £28

IMG_9190.JPG.ee6817e3ac9ca727ed8bda26c2ab2be7.JPG

I wasn't going to buy a couple of those but Mrs Concern egged me on...

IMG_9191.JPG.a00247064f9a5e2800ea9825e5dd6b05.JPG

The plastic Norev Renner 15 is a lovely one and a bit unusual I think

IMG_9192.JPG.eb9f951b9acb3470cf4c88361ebfffd2.JPGLone Star Dart is a bit of a mess, but what a great shape, I'm already thinking of colours for it

IMG_9193.JPG.f5a2e039a29e2295a0a7020a6f2d6865.JPG

I intended to pinch the wheels off this £3 Saab 9.5 for a project, but decided it's too nice to break

IMG_9196.JPG.df47302e0cee25a7a6f632863b231c5b.JPG

I think this £2 Solido Clio might be a dealer special as no makers name on the base

IMG_9197.JPG.8425f8aec57e6156812ff0f6ce7aa23b.JPG

MIB Cinq for £1 if anyone wants it

IMG_9198.JPG.6b1668f3303e390fb07514e08c876962.JPG

That was everything I got in the toy fair so we had a walk around the main market

£1 each

IMG_9199.JPG.7ab7117cfd03fdbf94326ad2ddd09f67.JPG

I already have a blue and a white Mustang II, not seen a Dinky Landy with a winch before and I have a white MIB Corgi Merc from childhood so a blue one is nice too

IMG_9200.JPG.3bd38a46f4e116f378e8e49a3195b1ab.JPG

lastly picked these out of a big box, seller wanted £7, but took £5

I saw one of these repainted and missing the windows this morning, they wanted £8 so I left it

PXL_20240413_170915159.jpg

I'm not a big Hot wheels fan, but this Mirafiori rally set

PXL_20240413_115435789~2.jpg

and this Cuda set are really great!

PXL_20240413_115101657~2.jpg

I'll quickly update some fake projects here...

Mini Pickup was wiped down with isopropyl and the new paint seems ok now so left to harden up

IMG_9173.JPG.1a0406bdc56e2feb3e4b7e2d35f8cd30.JPG

Made a plasticard left hand door for the Mini Countryman, it's ok, but I may use the door from the van I got this morning

IMG_9174.JPG.45c8f9a2dd99fd9f7051dfc63b43d262.JPG

This is the Saab I was going to use the Aero wheels for

IMG_9206.JPG.7d7b9aeab047293f89a1d40701c14595.JPG

Any Saab experts on here? I've painted the Aero kit dark grey as they always look like that to me while the other plastic bits look black. Am I right about that or are they all the same colour irl? Hard to tell in photos and most are the later big bumper sloped front version 900 as well.

Results of yesterday's visit to the toy fair and a few shops up in Norwich:

IMG_0175.JPG.0ebfbd27db592881ea113e221dc9a189.JPG

Matchbox and Majorette from Sainsbury's, HWs from Tesco. Latter still had a fair few packs of Matchbox 5-packs at £5 Clubcard price, but all older ones (and in a completely different place to the toy section).

Also visited Smyths, Range and Asda, but nothing of major interest to me there.

Toy fair assortment:

IMG_0177.JPG.c37f037bf01984d2b8f6cd9b4179380c.JPG

Mercedes/caravan combo as discussed here just recently. Caravan missing its door, but tidy otherwise.

IMG_0178.JPG.ffa832751a9f48ac0cf95ce0f2c292b8.JPG

Visa was just £3, goes nicely with the other 1970s/80s French 1/43s I seem to be accumulating. I don't remember the Ro80 and the Pontiac was picked up as it's doubtful I will ever get a MIB example at sensible money.

IMG_0182.JPG.49a496f22211f8a37eac38aa2fe58461.JPG

It has a little bit of front axle wobbliness and some paint chipping, but will sit nicely on the shelf with others of the same era that I haven't yet found in boxes.

IMG_0181.JPG.e1db38429e8de7c8c0bb4fb44d008cbd.JPG

NSU doesn't appear to have had a V4 transplant. The lilac paint is a little bright.

IMG_0180.JPG.1df1692409738f3417b14af0d1a7b29b.JPG

As I was spending my birthday money it was appropriate that the Pontiac was the same age as me.

I repainted the body kit on my 900 aero many years ago and I'm pretty sure they were an anthracite colour.

Yo, these weren't dealer specials but Winter Olympics 1992 specials produced by Solido (it says Albertville 1992 on the door).

I was in (nearby) Tignes while the Winter Olympics took place in Albertville - and they were in every bloody shop. Renault was the official manufacturer, supplying Espaces, Clios and Express vans in white Albertville '92 livery. These were a low effort merchandising shit-out for Solido, and probably did OK. I got the Clio and an unrelated piste-basher model (which I can't find).

Still traces on the winter Olympics, quite a few petal statues in the surrounding aera too.

Top buying @FakeConcern some proper bargains! Transcontinental is a BEAUTY @Spottedlaurel

I have been looking out for one of these large Livarno Cabinets that were sold from Lidl a few years ago for a while. Ideal to house my 1:18 large scale models and it was only £10 from marketplace.

Toy fair today

IMG_9213.JPG.d1794c66b9d62ebea3bcf7ee7cd81ee6.JPG

Expensive but nice Dinky VW KG because of the one Bunglebus showed us (yes, it is his fault!) and Corgi Elan because I like them £24 the pair (blimey!).

IMG_9214.JPG.e78406ef83e54d96a358e10cdea12177.JPG

Very faded paint on both

IMG_9215.JPG.163d973ddb656d1399683d1edd392e41.JPGmuch brighter underneath

IMG_9216.JPG.95c438700053bc632ec197d2da2e2b41.JPG

Dinky El Camino £5 because I've wanted one for a while and they usually go for even more than that and Corgi Lambo I want for an ongoing project

IMG_9217.JPG.fb84570abb2d40197a67c7d3fc0851fe.JPG

El Camino needs a good clean and Lambo complete apart from headlight sparklies

IMG_9218.JPG.af8a1f25653d1ab4312250ee869fadb6.JPG

I've been looking for another Dinky Mini Clubman to make my other real life 1275GT, but not found any and one I bid on with broken windows , scuffed wheels and no paint went for £10 +post! So I got this for £10 (he wanted £12)

IMG_9220.JPG.089ca47a72f7242732c336b46c490ac6.JPG

Quite tidy and i'll be a shame to paint it really, also this has sparkly lights

IMG_9219.JPG.f94075b19a40b31d9f058ea9fae76806.JPG

The seller was a lovely chap and I got chatting, he has a Jensen CV8 and wrote this book I bought for £5 from him

IMG_9226.JPG.3d7c3189cb5b4a209ecdd358b2850412.JPG

Had a quick flick through it and it's pretty interesting, but doesn't seem to have Mini Cooper in it, I could only find Broadspeed fastback. next time I see him I'll ask for my money back!

Next a mixed bag of tat for £5!

IMG_9222.JPG.3b89bf42b25b889ab27e5a056c153b26.JPG

Lastly a seller I've boaght from before, most people don't seem to try to haggle with him and he drives a hard bargain. This Saico 1/43 C30 was £14.99, but we went back and forth when I noticed the tailgat spoiler wasn't on properly so I paid £11. I took it bits to fix the spoiler and just as well for thnis thread as the second base screw was under the exhaust and I remembered Dan maybe saying that was a thing.

IMG_9221.JPG.0a897ce2d580b26d4dd22fae189b5d09.JPG

I'm now thinking of starting a miniature tat detailing channel...

IMG_9223.JPG.59003f34487421ad3bb9715bf2c06a07.JPG

Came up quite well

IMG_9224.JPG.66e2faffbefe9def2a9de3aacd0091e7.JPG

I may paint in the black roof on the VW and remove the numbers on the Elan, or I may not...

Some beauties there @FakeConcern you do really well at these fairs!

Those Dinky ElCamino’s are great looking models, it’s a pity though so many of them seem to have broken roof pillars. You can kind of see why though.

Very nice haul👍

The first lot with the Citroëns were very tempting, I kind of wished I had got a few more. He even had one of those Majorette sets "Black Edition" with a 190e etc... for 10€. I should have got it but have bills to pay back in the UK 😡

The Solidos were nice but slightly over-priced and annoyingly many were "code 3" fire service vehicles.

I did however come away with this small haul:

20240414_223429.jpg.09c0c5d317d0c909bdcc5750d330f463.jpg

I really liked the Renault 5 "Auto Bild" just more out of curiosity than anything, I'm fully aware that it's just some cheap diecast given the pic of the wheels on the other cars on the packaging, but still. I also really liked the C5 estate as I have a few Norev models. The Berlingo van was nice and unusual and the Fiat van was a nice curiosity made by "efsi" in Holland. The seller had a load of them.

Evening folks. I need some help!

I went into my dads loft tonight to pick up some of my old toys for my son. First up is this old garage. It’s very cleverly bolted to a section of wood with some roads painted on. I remember painting them when I was a kid! But the garage has seen better days. Can anyone identify it or has a broken one I can rob some parts off to fix it up? A long shot I know, but you never know!

next up, what we called “French roads” is a majo kit pavement setup thing. I loved these as a kid, but there are some bits missing.

Going to save them for when he’s a little older, there’s some on eBay but not much.

I really liked the Renault 5 "Auto Bild" just more out of curiosity than anything, I'm fully aware that it's just some cheap diecast given the pic of the wheels on the other cars on the packaging, but still.

Looks suspiciously like the Welly one to me

I also found these in a leather suitcase that’s been locked as long as I remember. Dad must have cut the locks off recently because they could never find the keys. These were just a small portion of what’s in there.

The best one used to be a Hot Wheels Stow and Go. I still have mine, the back legs are fucked but it’s still an ace set, my youngest things it’s great when we get it out. She has my folding Motorcity set I bought second hand in the 90’s and she’s played it to death.

Yeah that’s the one! Can’t find it anywhere but I’ll keep my eyes open for another.
