Maybe you're right.I tried to recreate the picture & the Matchbox Escort are virtually the same size, but the BMW looks a bit bigger in the jigsaw picture.I'll dig out my Guisval Escort later & try that20231022_144731.thumb.jpg.41528a13678b0ba4648194411d4f9b55.jpg

I paid £4 for the Carrimore with the Mack, so if you don't win the one you're bidding on, you can have the trailer for £2. I'm happy to keep it if you don't want it as you know how I love them!

The Marinas were £3 each, I'll keep the red one, do you want the other?

Edit; no Escort vans of any kind and no Volvo estates either!

Thank you - I'm sure they'll turn up but they have the Q case with the green Volvo 240 etc - check that one carefully as it could be the Super Treasure Hunt

Ah yes, Aldi.

I'd already seen @155V6 s post showing his tally of fresh Hot Wheels Q Case goodies from there and thought I was safe. Our local Aldi never really stock them, and it's always a half arsed selection when they do, from a couple of cases behind.

Oh dear.

IMG_20231022_122940.thumb.jpg.b9142193f087e2d2f2c27d5824c8d671.jpg

Was disappointed not to find the red one in the wild, so it was a nice surprise to get this. Hope we get a non-race livery version sometime so we can have tampos printed at the rear.

I think, apart from the blue Caddy Seville that wasn't there weirdly, that's about all the ones I wanted out of the Q case. Never happens in one go, usually. Just as well Mrs-W201 works weekends. She thinks she struck gold when I suggested doing the big shop on a Saturday...

Speaking of which, this arrived the other week which she ordered for me,

(No, it's not a marquee, I just have a bit more timber than I once did...) I know people wearing car related t shirts Is regarded as a bit sad on here but IDGAF, I love it. Fortunately my personal hygiene programme is up to scratch so it should be okay to wear to model fairs...

Cheapest one I could find at £6, quite a nicely detailed little thing though.
Another one for a bath in paint strip and eventually SEB green colours. I’ll have to blank off a few of the windows and add a winch and roof rack too.

Need to work out how the hell it comes apart too, no obvious screws or rivets anywhere.

IIRC the bumpers hold it together. Pull them out and the base should drop out.

Top man, thanks!👍

I initially thought the two holes underneath might be hiding screws, but there’s nothing in them.
I’ve just tried moving the base and it does feel like it’s attached at each end, so I’ll give it a go tomorrow.

Went Aldis in the area. None have HW. It's a myth.

Went B&Ms too. Full shelves replenished but all the old stock from months ago. Still getting in that MB green Ranchero. HW still has the pink Thunderbird drag car

Thank you kindly sir!  The transporter is actually too good for what I want (I need one I can chop up) so its best future is with you.  The lime green Marina, OTOH, is lovely and I will be very happy to claim that.  Have we got a box running?  If not, would you please set one up for me?

Escort vans and Volvos, thank you for looking, something will turn up.

Look away now @eddyramrod!

I really like Corgi Elans and I've been in the process of doing a re paint on one I had from new and have been humming and harring as to whether or not to give it a racing stripe. Now I've seen your pictures here I've decided it has to have one, but what colour to go with the Kermit green?

As Eddy doesn't want it, I'll have to do a count up of cabs and trailers and if I'm one trailer over then it's yours, if not however...

So did you win the ebay one? Yes you have a Corgi Beach Buggy & a Mazda pickup so far. As for the Marina, now I've washed it I noticed the doors don't stay shut properly and I think the spring on one side has either broken or popped on the wrong side of the door so if you don't want it after all, that's fine too.

The transporter and Marainas weren't the only things we picked up this morning..

Mrs Concern only got the Triang clockwork cabin cruiser, a really nice tiny Minic light ship (not pictured) and the MB caravan.

Nice haul!

I didn't win the ebay one, no, but as mentioned, the one you have is too good for my needs.  There's no urgency, I don't have the chassis-cab I need for it either.  Yet.

Marina doors, no problem.  I'm almost certainly going to strip it anyway so things like that can be sorted at reassembly time.

I'm quite envious of that Silver Cloud III...

Care package arrived from @bunglebus, with things I haven't been able to find for myself. One of the MR2s has gone to Miss SL's BF, as he has a Mk2 and is building up a bit of a HW/MBX/Majorette collection of his own.

IMG_8733.thumb.JPG.8c4ee71c66c4e96ed52f983e29950e80.JPG

Popped into PoundStretcher and got another one from the Mountain Drifters range, to go with the Celica I got last weekend:

IMG_8765.thumb.JPG.494b51bb2f2199fcf292bf9b22b6f7c3.JPG

Had a quick look in the local Aldi yesterday, nothing there. Will try and look at others on my travels, got a trip out on Tuesday PM....

Also managed to find a bit of time to move this 1:24 project on:

IMG_8758.thumb.JPG.93218023a734c78351e12e15b64d5a36.JPG

IMG_8761.thumb.JPG.c5154e17c01d47d682f1464386912cca.JPG

Can't remember if I've shown it here before, but it's an Accord Wagon on NSX underpinnings to make it mid-engined. Like a grown-up version of the Renault 5/Clio.

Paint is BMW Boston Green from Halfords. Wheels and seats are aftermarket items, rear vents are from a Monogram Chevy Citation (really), the rest is just merging parts from the two kits. Floorpan had to be trimmed on the sides and lengthened, but the track seems about right and so far it seems to be going well. It's due to be finished by early December for a community build on a modelling forum. All the major stuff is done, it's now mainly detailing and final assembly.

A bit more detail on what I picked up at the toy fair, I didn’t go mad this time!

First I had been bidding on a Dinky Chinese eye Rolls and got out bid pretty quickly so when I saw this I wanted it..

IMG_7974.thumb.JPG.7bab4d61b3d098d65c67415e46c30cc6.JPG

£10 though..

Knocked down to a more reasonable £8, only when I got home I noticed the missing (indicator?) light. Never mind still pleased with it.

Next two from before I was born both £3, a heavily play worn Corgi Bedford CA AA van & a nicely repainted MGA. I may paint the roof black again on the Bedford, not sure. I Know the MGAs are cheap, but I couldn’t do such a good job at only £3.

IMG_7975.thumb.JPG.648e1aeb77e6109264a800a7c3206c8e.JPG

The Marinas at £3 each wasn’t bad, I have a nice yellow/green one already, but was silly money, £20 I think so happy with these.

IMG_7976.thumb.JPG.270a60141a691f50e65ea00ef8b4b370.JPG

Dinky DB6, I have been outbid on several of these recently so went for this with missing rear wheels and a seat back and light jewels as well as broken front bumper for £3, especially as I got a set of the correct wheels and tyres plus the Corgi boat trailer for £3 as well. Anyone know how to get the Dinky wheels off of the axle?

IMG_7977.thumb.JPG.64188329ceb31c4dae58ee0f0c357c8b.JPG

I’ve fancied a Corgi Mack truck for a while, but not found one cheap until this one for £4 including the Carrimore Transporter. I have several Corgi Trailers this could be paired with. It has been re painted and has the air intake and part of the exhaust stack missing, but the bonnet (hood?) release opens with a twang!

IMG_7978.thumb.JPG.3534bde5b9c53537df9f1eac91f53551.JPG

Most interesting was this lovely little Alfa Spider

IMG_7979.thumb.JPG.f583e51fe1b0e413c81528e2e4a77408.JPG

Missing screen and steering wheel

IMG_7980.thumb.JPG.8f617b07f8c1bb1ab851dd12e2ac8c3a.JPG

But opening bonnet, boot & doors

IMG_7981.thumb.JPG.c62fbee11d7af2a679162a24140d288e.JPG

Don’t know what the scale is, but it is tiny compared to some other sports cars

IMG_7982.thumb.JPG.aae4ff6b2fab49dc5e10f28d6f89b28d.JPG

It’s an Impy, but bigger than the Impy/Lone Stars I had as a kid, but still tiny if you see what I mean!

I paid £2, but when i washed it all the layers of sticker showing £6, £4, & £3 came off haha
