Update: I’ve just gone on Ebay sold listings and now I’m really pleased!

You should be they are great models, I love them!

We went to the local boot fair this morning, but probably won't bother again. It seemed to be mostly traders selling new landfill.

I did pick up a small not very exciting selection of tat

The Dinky Lambo Marzal wasn't one I really wanted, but as it was complete and had a label saying "£3, no offers" I offered £2 as a joke and was accepted!

IMG_4664.JPG.6e4fd115fb8f90c5560b2a84f33109c7.JPG

The other four are parts cars but probably just about worth the £5 I paid. Mrs Concern recognised the seller from toy fairs as she's bought stuff from him

Anything @eddyramrod?

I have to use the kitchen worktop 🤦🏼‍♂️

As @bunglebus said, gotta do what you gotta do. I’m fortunate to have that space, but it wasn’t always the case. Dining room table, cold damp garage etc were places I had to work in years gone.
You can easily make anywhere work though.
Im an absolute devil for leaving stuff laying around though which is where I’m my own worst enemy! Tools, materials, paints, bits of models… I just leave it laying around, particularly on the bench. Then it gets messy and I can’t find things.

All your projects look awesome @danthecapriman, you have some real skills there, but the Transit is something else, that's superb!

Do you sell any of your models, or do commission works?

Cheers mate👍

That Transit has been on the bench for months. I think it was early summer last year I started it! It was an absolute swine to do. I’d do a bit, get pissed off or lose interest and put it away then start again days/weeks later.
I think the roof is a tad high tbh but I’m not sanding it down any more😆 doing it before cost me what’s left of my sanity and gave me tennis elbow!

I don’t sell anything, no. I just build or paint something that suits me or piques my interest. Then it sits on a shelf or cabinet.
Likewise I don’t do commissions. I don’t have the confidence tbh. Mind you if anyone fancies anything in particular I’ll always consider it…

It was always going to be in demand, best bet is checking very regularly on the Smyths website under newest first, and reserving or ordering what you want

Every time I'm in Romania I like to go to the Flea Market. Picked these up these time, 30 lei each, so just over a fiver, not the cheapest but the unusual subjects made them worthy of a purchase.

No Matchboxes.

I liked the look of these though:

I really like that Tekno not only modelled the Lloyd 600 but made multiple variations of it – saloon, estate, van. I wonder how many Lloyds were sold in Denmark to begin with?

Quite scruffy, but this cost a few pounds rather than the hundreds these seems to go for in decent nick

There's even a fair crack at the engine detail underneath, complete with exhaust. Sadly all the tyres are pretty shot on this. I wonder if the smaller Spot On tyrtes (Mini, Fiat 500) would fit? It looks like they probably would, but I cant find any of my Spot On toys to check at the moment.

Wheels are Real Riders from a set when Mattel had a sale on, front axle is a WD40 straw. It could probably do with going a bit higher and wider on the back too, maybe I'll re-visit it later.

A few finds/arrivals from last week - I've tried posting this about four times since Friday and each time the site's glitched and I've lost the lot, so apologies if this all sounds a bit terse.

Tescotainer locally have removed their Hot Wheels mainline tub:

IMG_20260422_1401332.jpg.bd5bf77ec4cfef6ac2e3fde57e2e2ffc.jpg

I've heard from a few sources that HW mainlines had been scanning at the tills for silly prices in Tesco, so possibly it's a temporary measure until the stockfile issue gets resolved.

Matchbox mainlines had been replenished, but just with more of the older Mix C/ Mix D releases:

IMG_20260422_1405412.jpg.84b811bf80c450e5d94fbbbf9de8f1c0.jpg

What did surprise me was a clipstrip of Sky Busters in the same aisle:

IMG_20260422_1401132.jpg.ca2fea96b49f926fe750cd720b145277.jpg

I know The Entertainer has sold this range in the past, alongside Moving Parts, Working Rigs and Hitch N Haul sets, but I've not seen anything from these ranges in store for well over a year now - so dunno if this might signal an increase in Matchbox beyond just the mainline cases?

Majorette stuff now commanding more shelf space too:

IMG_20260422_1401242.jpg.8eae5d1c70cde1f4dd1b3a0bf2fa48ae.jpg

While Hot Wheels Silver series appeared to be increasing, despite the absence of mainlines. This F&F Tokyo Drift series was there in abundance:

IMG_20260422_140443.jpg.2daad3e22878643162e8a30587be1edc.jpg

Other older Silverlines are still there too, in varying quantities - loads of that Pontiac series, plus a goodly quantity of the F&F Villains series; quite a lot of the Hyper Speed (EV) range from last year, and a number of the Surf's Up series. A couple of stray Pantone series and handful of Hot Ones, plus some less popular Premiums - Meyers Manx and Subaru Brat - and some meh Team Transports, also fast approaching their one-year anniversary on the pegs.

At least they've now got shot of all the unflushable Jay Leno Mazdas and Roadkill Rotsuns, after reducing them to clear.

Also, The Entertainer seem to be pushing the F1 stuff more, with track sets now appearing alongside the 5 packs:

IMG_20260422_1402382.jpg.6801b91a5c38384dee1fbcf3bd925a86.jpg

Impressively, this mildly incongruous drag strip set still seems to use the same basic technology as some of the original early '70s HW sets, with those mechanical indicator flags showing the race victor.

Ultimately I didn't get anything from Tesco last week - but did pick this pair up from Poundland.

Did you get me some of them? I've got a terrible memory as to who's got what for me at the moment.

Here's a fun little one I've messed with today, 12.5 shite points if you can ID it!

Clues are, I bought it this morning and it used to have decals.

Removing those decals was tedious, tried various things and had most of them off with T-cut before trying acetone - which melted the plastic body (another clue), so there was lots of work polishing it back up, the black panel lines aren't something I'd normally do but that acetone left the gaps white which looked terrible. Hot Wheels rims and just lots of detailing really, I see all sorts of fast hatchback in the design, Integrale, Renault 5, Golf too. Actually really impressed with the interior and base detail that you now can't see...

Very pleased how this turned out.

Rather that paint the side mouldings and grille silver,I gently scraped off the black then a couple of coats of clear.

Despite the cheapness of the casting it's details are really quite good.

I did finally get a Renault Espace F1 though locally to me:
