I got this Maverick not to customize but Matchboxize! No that's not a word.

Out came Aldis own Dremel and removed the stupid arches, bonnet scoops, chin and rear spoiler. Swapped the wheels for Matchbox steels.

I was in two minds about the wing mirrors, but I slipped with the Dremel so off they came.

And hot off the radiator with Christmas sale 15p rattle can paint from Poundland.

The colour looks different in this light so I'll post up some outdoor shots at some time.

Thats a fantastic job.

I'm not sure who wants one of these customised in a 2023 drift style. Why do HW do all their retro cars like this? Surely it would be much more saleable as standard like this one or customised 70s style?

HFM?????????

Hudson has been on my search list for over two years and nothing ever appears at even the (inflated) price point I’d even go to when pished

It’s only a piece of shoddy plastic after all.  Tell him he’d be better off making one out of mache

Great change, great effort!

Matchbox-ize is also now a word

or perhaps better as Matchboxise

Matchbise?

Where do you end up?

That's brilliant, Ive always had a thought that one of these would make a good 2 door MK3 Cortina with a bit of modification and I'm definitely getting MK3 vibes from that.

Who’s going to be the first to do the

Quote

Matchboxize

treatment to the HW Volvo 850 T5 (that never seemed right not as a MB instead?), by chopping back the skirts and spoilers off and making it the standard car you could take your hedge clippings to the tip on a Sunday?

- and keeping the paint too

- maybe keeping the Ryu logo on, to confuse those at the bowls club

I have a "WANT".....

terrahawks+hudson.jpg

It's "Hudson," the futuristic Rolls Royce from the Gerry Anderson TV series Terrahawks.  The model shown is about Matchbox size, made in plastic.  My sister's husband is a sci-fi buff (they came together 30+ years ago over Blake's 7, of all things!) and this is one he doesn't have.  I have one!  But of course it's part of my Film/TV sub-collection, so he can't have it.  She and I have now trawled two toy fairs together and completely failed to find one.  So, any of you guys got one you don't want?  Or more importantly, don't want much for?

Funny what people thought cars of the future might look like. That’s more like what the final Princess would have looked like in VDP trim.

Just found another livery the P6 Rover race car was painted in. Who's going to do it first, an Autoshiter or HotWheels?

They’re a bit on the expensive side to be drilling open!

I promised to show you the rest of last week's toy fair haul...

I was sure there were others, but perhaps not.  Just a couple more for my Eastern Bloc collection.

You would think they did, as it's the only other 'Works' P6 Rover.  This one was later sent to Australia (pretty sure that is a Holden Torana XU next to it) where it gained that livery and a Repco Holden V8.  It is well known car down-under and has been back and shown at Goodwood Festival in recent years

Today's car boot find was this Dinky Volvo P180020230219_132808.thumb.jpg.6e5d984147c622c0add879020790eafd.jpg

20230219_132822.thumb.jpg.fc424ac0aa4623ef08062dda5682718d.jpg

I think this is the kit version,as it has different wheels & yellow seems to be the colour that came with them.

It's all there apart from the tyres & headlights.I found some Transit tyres which fit,but they seem to have a too high profile as they rub on the arches

20230219_132837.thumb.jpg.5092325ad9f5e9db4bcdc770e4f7b5f0.jpg

They can stay on there for now though20230219_134459.thumb.jpg.be479bc087a3c3a6e2439508b1ebe831.jpg

I also found this Husky Commer when I was looking for the tyres, was someone looking for one?.It's tatty, but complete,it still has the rubber suspension bits20230219_132856.thumb.jpg.8451ac76b362c12e0815bd72e098554d.jpg

The Volvo, if the tyres rub, you will have to roll the arches lol

A late posting from a few weeks back is this Polistil 1/25 toyfair £5 special - no seats though! Some additional weathering but it looks ok to me!

I've got that one but the splashes must have been applied by hand as they're completely different! I also have a Lancia Fulvia with white paint splatters which is meant to look like snow. I love it.

That was probably me...

After some time not seeing any, three have been obtained in as many weeks!

Not only that, the 'alternative' EFSI model has also been obtained ....three of them, in just one day!

Cock.

They sell for what somebody is willing to pay. I have a battlehawk which although mint and complete is without a box - I had to pay £275 for it. I have tree hawk and hawkwing - one is boxed and one has the remains - they were £40 ish.

Little model shop in Maldon was open today, every time I've been here it's been closed before.

Mostly RC stuff with some model kits too, lots of Days Gone for some reason - and these two
