Nice pics, Im just about the add mine to the Chumley thread.

Have you tried using control and the roller on your mouse to adjust the text/image size on your browser? I think the setup of the forum cuts them off if its set too big.

It's not photobucket, it's the forum framing.

Tried to get a picture of the RAC van but it had moved somewhere else by the time I got round to it. It was bloody mint.

I thought photos might get missed by others there as they might think it's still a meet thread? I'll change the title of this to official pics thread and peeps can post theirs on this one?

Cheers for the ctrl/scroll tip.. :D

A good day had, even though I missed seeing a load because some of the wussy RS boys etc buggered off at the first sign of rain. Enjoyed catching up with some old faces and meeting some new ones.

Heres to next time!

Great photos! I like the idea of people being either amused or offended at the banner. Good work!

FD Estate would have been enough to make me wish I was there, but a Crown Coupe too? And both in the right colours! I'm sick with envy now. But thanks for the gratuitous fin, always appreciated... :D

Best day out in ages. Not many pictures myself as spent most of the time chatting bollocks with everyone and swearing with Jon and Mini-Mental.

When I first arrived was sort of shoved into a corner and then joined a couple of SDi Rovers, a Mk3 Cortina which (according to the boot badges) was a 4x4 Cosworth and then the flat caps and Sherpa Sports brigade arrived. Probably nice people but didn't fancy having to endure seven hours of waffle about chrome door pins and original factory stickers on the inside of the tyre valves. Instead we talked about far better things like old rammel, work and general crap.

Happily Lanky Tim turned up and rescued me so we pissed off a few yards away and set up camp there. This apparantly irked some nut job in a Fast & Furious JDM Drift YO Japanese car. They moved somewhere else in the end, perhaps they knew Jon was coming?

Plan to deafen Mr Twatty on the microphone and tried and get him to hit his head on my bonnet failed though, got there a bit late and he was already arselicking/patronising someone.

Hopefully the others will be on later with more/better pictures and muchos kudos to those who made a right old trek to get there.

This was rather nice and not overdone, attracted a fair bit of attention and deservedly so...

chumley2011001.jpg

Bit weird this one. Sort of vaguely attractive (in a shite way) with what can only be described as a bizzarre(sp?) paint job which was mostly metal flake and some sort of strange flame arrangemant on the bonnet and a (sadly unpictured) oddball mural-ish thing on the boot...

chumley2011002.jpg

Here's lovely for you boyo, I fakking lavved it I did, isn't it, look you...

chumley2011012.jpg

Put a snowberry white roof on this and I'd have defo gone all Stu_CDX on it no danger...

chumley2011009.jpg

Yankee doodle rammel poodle...

chumley2011014.jpg

This was pure and utter class, nowt not to like...

chumley2011015.jpg

Another favourite though OMG BUBBLIN ACSHUN ON DA WINGS made the £13,500 price tag more suitable for Chelsea_Dolls_House_Manboy_Raymondo, or the eBay bargains thread...

chumley2011013.jpg

Mash's much photographed Oriental HUNNY. What a an absolutely belting car, attracted loads of interest and rightly so...

chumley2011005.jpg

General Autoshite/Retro-Rides/NSJK pictures...

chumley2011004.jpg

chumley2011007.jpg

I didn't see any other Lancias there and even if there had been they could never have been as epic as this...

chumley2011006.jpg

Many people didn't understand this, many people laughed at it, some looked a bit bewildered/disguested/non-plussed...

chumley2011003.jpg

And my piece (du merde) du resistance. B01's car's brother. The geezer that owned this sounded like just the sort of borderline fruitcake who needs to be on here. There were random messages about cars for sale on the dashboard containing such phrases as 'no banger racers' and another you can hopefully make out in the picture. It was absolutely bang on the dead centre of the Autoshite radar. No restoration, plenty of scuffs/rust marks and general 'up your's this is how I roll' attitude..

chumley2011008.jpg

Check out the pre-Mondeo bumper repair Giffer tape on the rear window...

chumley2011010.jpg

Diary of an eccentric who really does need to be on here with this attitude...

chumley2011011.jpg

Top day, top company and a freaking right old laugh. Cheers to all who made it today, the company alone was worth the short trip.

Another GR9 show, even though it was little damp at times, still very much worth the run across.

Lets start in the petrol station. I'd filled up the night before so I used the opportunity to photograph the AS/RR 'bike',

The Saab.

Today its Mr Imp and Volkys whip.

I shall upload my pictures tomorrow after college

Just wanted to say thanks to Billy for sorting the tickets out and adding some "different" entertainment to the plate.

Glad others were also able to make the day, as it was a right laugh.

Sorry if i didn't say "hello" to anyone.

I use to be a regular at the Cheshire shows when I was into Mantas and before I moved south. This is from about 3 years ago IIRC;

Dffo want to make it back when my S12 is rolling. Probably next year now tho

Is Cumley the show where you get a sweet view of Jodrell Bank as you go through the front gate ?

Great day guys, big thanks to Billy for arranging. The weather was actually really good either side of the showers. I hadn't seen 99% of these cars before, being a bit further afield for me so it was worth the journey.

The old chap with the Renner 8 was a really nice guy and he had the Dauphine too. I chatted to him for a while and he let me sit in the R8. What a hunny - only 26000 miles and so original, the seats were really squishy like only a French car can be. It has a bizarre push button automatic gear selector too

Took lots of snaps but not uploaded them yet, car of the show for me wasn't shite I'm afraid - the 1958 Buick.

Posted

It was a great day out - the look of some of the tweed cap and polished arsehole brigade when MM5 and me rolled up in a shit Peugeot tag team was priceless. Massive thanks to Warren for his spare ticket - I hope you pick up soon mate.

I will lob some pictures on tomorrow night I think, when OMG UNIVERSITY CHAOS is over with (for the moment).

GR8 photos guys!, I would have loved to have gone to this and meet you all but it was just too far for me, Loving the banner on Wat's 305 though

Some really nice photos guys, rather more arty than my efforts. It is clear my efforts - and equipment - are no longer ahead of the game.

So here are some of mine, (some were previewed in Billy's thread)

Had a good time depite having a terrible hangover. Apologies if I did not talk to everyone as it really was proviong difficult to muster up intelligent conversation with the bastard I had behind my eyes.

Despite walking round the site about 8 times I appear to missed about 50% of the cars appearing on this thread. Maybe they were just after the cricket pavillion as I managed to get stuck there twice......Sorted out the hangover a bit though.

Hopefully the 'compere' went home and managed to get some of his tablets (both for his Herpes Simplex he was very proud to announce to a field of people and for his anger management issues) and I very much hope that some motorcycles managed to get into the judging arena and actually park in the right place 'I CAN SEE HUNDREDS OF BIKES OVER THERE WHY ARE NONE OF THEM COMING IN!!!! At last here comes a bike....WHAT ARE YOU DOING PARKING THERE! YOU WANT TO BE OVER THERE! NO NOT THERE, TO THE LEFT!' He was brilliant, in a totally shit kind of way.

It was a shame we had to leave early to deal with an e-bay mong. It would have probably been better if I had stayed as I would not have been able to let him pull down my trousers and shaft me (metaphorically) and he might have just paid my neighbout the full whack. Oh well. And as Volksy said in the other thread in the 3 seconds it took me to take out my Def Leppard tape and put in some (not happy hardcore) gabba techno i heard the F1 result. What are the chances of that?

Did not take any photos really and when I did it was with a shitty cameraphone and would not stand right next to the excelsior phtotgraphy on this thread but I did take a photo of this Budgie because I used to have one.

IMAG0305.jpg

Car of the show was defo the Renault 8 with the push button automatic gearbox. That will be brilliant when it goes wrong.

The compare was a joke. When the downpour came just before lunchtime, I was standing over by the chicken and chips stand, opposite of where that s*it pink Mini buried in a bodykit was usually parked. He said something along the lines of "I think it’s started to rain folks". Never... By now, many people were darting for some sort of cover. He then simply remarked "Oh dear... I hope it doesn’t stay like this" whilst the rain become a sideways torrent. He was a classic! I retreated back to the car for a spot of lunch and waited until it held off.

That yellow Saab was seriously mint. Under the wheelarches were pretty much as smooth and clean as the bodywork.

The mk4 Escort L went into the stands when the compare was calling for 80's cars. I was standing only a few feet from it as the bonnet was opened. It was spotless.

the look of some of the tweed cap and polished arsehole brigade when MM5 and me rolled up in a shit Peugeot tag team was priceless

Indeed. You went right past me, with the red 309 following behind (or was it ahead? Can't remember!), as you were rolling up the last few yards to the Autoshite stand, just up past the bikes. I was half-tempted to wave but chickened out...! You would have probably thought "Who the hell is he?!".

Twas a great show. A bunch of car nutters having fun with a load of old motors- just how it should be!

It was great meeting other shitists and talking old shite but I have to confess I only knew for sure who Cavette, Pete M, Retrogeezer and Watanabe were- who was everyone else? I was in the Audi 100!
