Sir, you are quite literally The Doctor of all things Talboty. 8)

By the way, I've happenned across a silver Talbot Tagora SX in the past few days. It's been in a hedge for quite some time though, but is coming up for sale along with a load of other top notch shite. Get in touch if you're interested before it appears in Rust In Peace (PC September issue I'm currently compiling, not in the shops for a while yet) and I'll help you out.

What part of the uk?

I'll echo the words of others here, superb work and I bet you are glad you decided to get it restored as well. I haven't seen one of these for absolute years now.

EL, where did you find this wonderous batch of shite?!

Looking great Mr.Doo, and like all your cars an elegant and distinguished carriage for a gentleman of taste.

Thats ace! well done mate.

Things like this is what Autoshite is all about. :D

Thank-you for taking the time to post such enthusiastic comments. You really can be a supportive bunch!

Cheers to you all! :P

That really does look quite splendid.

For the average punter it probably does seem quite mad to spend £££ on a car thats ultimately worth £££ but if you are going to keep it and hack around in it for some time its worth every penny. I bet it will outlast many new cars on the road at the moment after all that work.

Good work.

That truly is stunning, hats off to you for investing in a car that most other people wouldn't give scrap money for. The results are breathtaking.

Well said. That truly is an amazing looking car. Good job, boobydoo. :D

Congratulations on this!! Its looking tremendous....lovely detailing too - especially on the little things like the Ls headrest plugs, looking at the rear parcel shelf this must have been one of the first to have the later type rather than the push forwards affair. All you need now is some Adam ant and Shakin stevens whilst tuned in to Radio 1 275 and 285 mw to complete the time warp!! :D

It needs a 1.9 XUD conversion to make it the car that could of saved Talbot if they could of been arsed. Make a cracking daily as well!

Posted

Excellent work, all in such a short time too.

As has been said before - take pleasure in that it is easily worth a 1000 MGB/Minor/Snags etc restorations :D:D

I've only-just looked at these pics. WOW. That clang you just heard was my jaw hitting the floor. I don't think I've seen an Alpine looking this good since.... 1979? Brilliant work sir, top save.
