Anybody got a chance to take their classic out for a little spin today?

I put a few miles under the Sapphire’s wheels this afternoon.

Did our bit for international drive it day by going for a run in the French countryside for coffee at a pub then a glass of chilled rosé wine at another before returning home

Looks like a Frogeye Sprite, but being on an R plate it probably is a fibreglass-clad Midget.

It must be a late Midget, doors have external handles and quarter lights.

Took the shabby MX-5 to a local meet for an hour or so this morning, then went for another drive in the afternoon after some gardening went awry (see Grumpy Thread).

Spot on. MG Midget 1500 with overdrive and plastic bits. Goes well and is approx 250 kilos lighter than a standard midget

Some interesting cars spotted on the M40 first thing, and several marked and unmarked police cars on the hard shoulder doing 'business'.

1946 Railton straight 8 (4.2 L side valve) drop head coupe. Very few left on the road

We were out and about in the DS today just because the weather was good, I wondered why there were so many other random classic cars on the road!

Love having something which will deal with the roads around here.

Here's a snip of my run around the block this evening.  No speed limits were harmed in the making of this footage

I've not driven today, spent 5 hours on trains, walked over 10,000 steps...

But I saw an AM Lagonda in Ascot, twice.

North.  In ten minutes I was in Durham, Northumberland and Cumbria.

Was out for an hour or so this afternoon running a few errands in the Invacar - didn't see a single classic or otherwise interesting car the whole time sadly.

Made it to a fairly local show that usually surprises with its popularity.

Ironically still one of my more successful Drive It days...

Piston ring failure?

Aside from 4 pre-war Austins (3 were Sevens the 4th I'm not so sure which model but the Austin badge on the grille was my only clue as it came around the roundabout) in my local village didn't really see much else out yesterday which I thought was a bit disappointing, and a few MG B's and Triumphs of the same era which are not out of the ordinary any weekend day around here!

I did however take the Allegro out for a 130 mile round trip to the beach on a pre-Drive It Day on the Saturday which it performed admirally (I've only had it a week so this was my first proper drive in the car), if that counts towards the spirit of the day (weekend)?! And a failed sunset photo attempt (ignore the mop-headed 13 year old thinking he is funny).

Head gasket failure. Not the worst. I can do a head gasket in under 2hrs these days. 😂

It wasn't a classic nor was I driving.

However I had a ride in a Tuk Tuk in Bengaluru, India yesterday.

In my 6 years of working at a Subaru garage the SVX was the only Subaru I didn't get to drive because I saw less than 5, it's always held a bit of a mystery car to me 😄 yours is the best condition example I've seen!
