John Schneider owns one of the original general lees.

It was squished during Hurricane Ida in 2021

Does anyone remember the Dodgey Charger 'Generally' from the Practical Classics 'Dukes of Wisbech' feature in 2001? I recall at one point it got nicked and was found about a mile down the road neatly parked in a public car park.

It's still around but with the numbers and flag removed and now runs a 2-litre Zetec for the go to match the show.

Adam Buxton had a Mk3 Fiesta painted like the General Lee, can't find a picture online.

Along with Starsky and Hutch reps, the General Lee must be one of the most copied themes on cars. There used to be an XJ40 near me, long gone now, and this Baja was a reguar at the Metro Centre a few years ago.

Has anyone got a link to the original article? I've tried, but not the best with search terms

Can't link it for some reason but if you Google Practical Classics Dukes of Wisbech there's a Facebook post about it

FFS I had a mate called Robbie who had a Reliant Robin General Lee back in 1989! He replaced it with a Bedford CF A Team van replica before getting banned after a high speed pursuit on a GSXR750 he'd forgotten to insure.

Impressive detailing with the roof mounted spot lights, bull bar, spoiler etc, I have a massive problem that the paint above the red stripe should be metallic gunmetal, not black.

The fact I see it as a bigger issue than not using a GMC van is a pointer to how fucked up my brain is.

It says something about these TV series' lasting impact when people are painting up much more modern vehicles as replicas, decades after the shows were cancelled. Though to be fair I haven't yet seen any Peugeot 207s in Starsky and Hutch colours.

I was looking for my pictures of that - took it at VW Action years ago but I think it's a print and I haven't scanned it

I saw this in Ludlow years ago, I think @Scruffy Bodger knows the owner.

I do indeed but I've sacked him off. I did start work on it, removing the rear bed spot weld by spot weld and got some sections bent up to repair the rear chassis sections, he then gave the work to someone else... It still exists and is parked half a mile away but apparently the work done isn't up to MOT standard so it's sat for a couple of years now.
