Jobs to do are as follows.

Fix LHM return line.

Replace octopus.

Repair the nearside inner arch.

Fit new tyres.

Replace exhaust backbox.

Weather looks set to get very exciting today and tomorrow so we'll see what can be done.

Started on the LHM return pipe. It disintegrated as I removed it.

Made a new one out of some hose and various fittings. Should see this car up the road at least.

Maximum effort. Very impressed! I am also of the persuasion that I procrastinate over welding so well done for getting stuck in

Please let this be a re-run of the legendary Mr_Bo11ox Avenger rescue episode. In which swapping the original wheels for replacements fitted with serviceable tyres was considered to be insufficiently challenging.

Productivity less than hoped.

Made up a patch panel for the inner arch. Obviously needs a run over with a flap disc to get rid of the flash rust but it's close enough.

Then went to go out to get some diesel for the BX and another calor gas bottle for the van.

Not today you don't..PXL_20231019_144552943.thumb.jpg.899b7bde612eab991114589e14b14a72.jpg

It did rain quite a lot last night.

That rescue took a fair amount of time, but I will let the cylinderses enjoy telling you about that.

Chucked in 20L of diesel. @Talbot managed to fix the stubborn stuck steering lock.

It lives!

Might want rear spheres though 🤪

Good progress! Is it stuck in high?

Expand

It was left in high for a bit to try and bleed the system. It was then put to normal and held height for ages after stopped which is a good sign.

The back end is pretty harsh even on normal.

Wheels off to get tyres done.

At least a few years in the field, but I think it has been SORN since 2018.

It suddenly got quite Baltic down here.

Van leisure battery was getting a bit tired from sitting around so we couldn't fire up the heater either.

A quick run this morning to get knitting wire should help charge it up a bit.

Also invested a whole eight pounds into a wheel refurbishment.
