Well done to whoever on the AS breakdown team got it up again today (oo-er). It's been a bloody long day without it, I even had time to wash out the wheely bins!

It's going to start getting expensive at this rate with the new £25 Autoaid surcharge!

With this amount of outage, and folk “getting jobs done” there will be more threads starting soon, that might tip it over the edge!

Just a thought though, how much more productive might we all be if this site died?

(Sorry, please someone call the white coats for me)

I might actually get around to doing the cambelt and brakes on my (one of) my own cars! Its lucky to get the tyre pressures checked, and the screen wash low warning will happily stay on for a couple of weeks before I deal with it!

Thanks for bearing with us with the current instability.

There is a problem with the server connection stability and we’re not getting the support from the host which is needed.

@Slartibartfaststeps in every time and puts the jump leads on fiddles with the points and coaxes life into the old girl. Publicly on behalf of the admin team, thank you for taking time out of your daily life to do this!

We’re working on trying to get the stability back, it had been a really good run, with very little unplanned downtime for a good while. There is likely to be some planned downtime in the future to fully resolve the issues/move forward, but we aim to let you know in advance.

Your patience is very much appreciated!

We're here, and appreciate the efforts. Hope you can get a discount from the hosts

Q... Did you use the technical thump ?

Impact engineering is a cornerstone of hardware maintenance and diagnosis.

I've started the process of moving it to a more stable server. This is an interim measure before giving everything the full fettle, just to stop it going down.

Did you have to hammer the bigger server onto the smaller server or are we talking about hammering a bigger server onto the bigger server that's already been hammered onto the original server?

I reckon they're being welded over each other like finding 5 floor pans messily pigeon-shitted into an ancient Mini as they gradually rust through between MOTs 😁

I didn't know you worked for ICL in the early 90s!

Taking the shell and welding it to a new subframe, Freiburger style

I had no idea tapatalk still worked at all. Someone must have fixed it while I was away. I too use the regular site on my mobile browser.

I can have a look but I can't guarantee a fix
