Monty & Maestro Turbos were carb fed

im intrigued

what carb was used? weber?

Posted

Just an SU like an ordinary montego, presumably has some extra seals on the shaft and a pressure balancing thing on the float chamber

Posted

^SU HIF6 iirc, or a special pressurised version. I just thought the tool eater turbots were injected. Cheers for clearing that up chaps, I can haz edyukayshun.

I've had two cars with carbs'n'turbos. On the Renault 9 the turbo just blew straight into the top of the Solex. The Maserati had some flashy pressurised aluminium plenum chamber to contain its twin-choke Weber. Both systems seemed to work adequately well.

Now that the Greeks are eating gravel kebabs and drinking from puddles, I suspect it's a good time to make an insultingly low offer for their old shitboxes. WELL, IS IT?

€450 (sadly Demis Roussos flopped his moobs on the other side's rear wing).

GR2 work with the snapper, Giorgios, but I'll let you off as you're only asking €500. BARG-A-DOPOLOUS.

The only way this €500 Corona could look hotter is if the guy took his mum's bra and pants off the roof. BUT THAT JUST ISN'T GOING TO HAPPEN.

This looks like the kind of ULTIM8 BARN-PHINED DREEM that requires a bed-linen boilwash when you wake up. Sadly the P6 came out shit when he polished it up, but then he only wants €300 for it. No mention of the Fiat.

leather has moderate katastasi.

Hey HHH, I would be perfectly happy if you just started doing all the posts on Autoshite. Just make up a load of different characters or whatever and have them all post up HIGH QUALZ LOLZ. There would be a danger you'd just end up going completely mental of course, but I reckon it would be worth it.

(Obviously, as a Greek I find your posts highly offensive and borderline racist, you BEAST)

Woah dere, bazza. I am forever doffing (pulling) my hat (pudding) at the endless LOLATHON that is this site in general and this thread in particular.

Anyway - check out this NCAP MEGAWIN!

I'm suddenly reminded of a distant holiday in Malta. A minibus driver picked a load of us up from the airport and floored it straight through the first junction screaming: "He has right of way - BUT I DENY HIM!!!"

One day I might start a thread about 'real' eBay bargains. This would defo make the short list. Sensibly written advert, reasonably well pictures and (if description is correct) I reckon good value for money. Yeah it needs work but it looks the part and apparantly doesn't need any welding...

Brucie Bonus of the Arrow in the background.

Oh, check out his other listing, this would cure erectile disfunction the world over if it featured in the Readers Wives' section of a bongo mag...

Can't do you all a free Volvo, but this big ol' barge surely can't be bad on a £/kg basis?

Scenes you only see in Larkhall: Any offer taken for a green Tata some evil bastard jammed in between my house and my shed. It's grinning at me every time I walk up the drive.

Maximaaaa! That better be polish on the inside of my jeans...

However, if i could afford this magnificent steed, I'd park it in the back garden and get eBay polish stains all night long, baby. Mind you, his sales pitch includes this gem:

I will say however the interior is dated and would benifit from some moderenisation as its very 1980es.
.

Is that supposed to be a downside?

I'm almost tempted to buy this girly Jag, and offer a part-ex to Larkhall Tata man. While making a deeply inappropriate joke about 'my big pink one'. If there's a quicker way to get your head kicked in, I've yet to find it...

^I love Sennys: but even by my standards, that is a ferking hottie.

Oh, and just one more for the night...

SOR Saab 90, low reserve, in Wooler.

Edit: I'll tack on just one more. Then I promise I'll bugger off and order the stuff off eBay that I actually need/can afford.

One for the 'What Could Possibly Go Wrong?' files; V8 Audi, which looks like it needs a bit more fettling than is being admitted to in the ad.

Thank you Boss, i bet if you got that for £400, spent £1000 on the dents (I doubt it would be that much) you still get £2000 for it when you sold it on.

Looking at the paint on the rear tyre he's hiding horrors allready.

I dunno about 'restoring' it; you'd be there for a while. No, I'd charge around in that just as it is. Or more precisely, once I'd made sure her hull was sound. Which might necessitate finishing the look off with a black stonechip tidemark all the way round. At least parts aren't too much of an issue for these.
