That's a mate of mine. £2995 seems a bit strong, but it does sound like a very nice example. Just not sure there's anyone out there desperate for one and happy to live with LHD. I'd be very happy to be proved wrong! He's bought back a Renault 6 recently as well.

 

I approve of his methods entirely. Buy some chod on Leboncoin, then drive it back to the UK assuming it'll be absolutely fine to punt on for a profit (and you must need to cover some costs bearing in mind he's got fuel for 1 and a half trips (the other car) to cover for a start).

Reading the listing what would bother me is he says how he's just had the engine rebuilt and how it's only covered 70 miles since, so why's he now selling it?, It makes you wonder if it's had a bad repair and he needs shot of it quick.

 

I reckon it is his hobby car and he is selling becasue he only did 70 miles last year. true the engine could be a nail but RV8's are not exactly rocket science to rebuild and there are plenty of spare lumps out and about especially efi 4.2's :P . The rest of the car made it for me. A chum of mine had one of these in the early 90's and he reckoned it did 30mpg plus on a good run on carbs. I test drove a SD1 vitesse late 80's but never owned one even though I hankered after one. Trouble is that if I buy it would I be forced to play human league all the time and which year would mrs thestag stop harranging me. :lol:
