Am I the only one who looked at the picture of morrissy and wondered what the heck Freddie Starr was doing?

what a twat.....and the band members are just as bad for agreeing to wear those t-shirts.

I agree, I really like the Smiths and some of Morissey's solo stuff so it dissapoints me greatly the bollocks he comes out with these days. Ever since the Smiths split he has been a bitter and twisted arsehole. It's a shame.

As everybody has said i also loved the smiths, but what a total knob.

^^^ Exactly this.

'No such thing as bad publicity' they say, which Morrisey seems to be proving here. Wasn't there some 'Nazi' allegation about him a few years ago, which (surprise, surprise) he seems to have orchestrated himself then (much) later denied?

If he likes Arentina so much and feels sorry for them over the Falklands then may be he should piss off over there and protest about the British/troops whilst eating lentils and bad mouthing our Royal family?

I love his and The Smiths music but he's a weapons grade, publicity seeking gobshite. I hope he suddenly discovers beer, gets pissed and eats one of the flowers out of his back pocket resulting in a bad case of daffodil poisoning.

He acts like a stroppy teenager with most of the pish he comes out with but he's a 50 year old man. Get a grip you twat!

I think even a judge said he was a twat (paraphrasing) in that court case he had with the Smiths drummer.

That all being said I do like the Smiths.

Nope. I never liked them either. Crisps are ace, though.

No! I never "got" The Smiths. As a guitar player, I never saw that Johnny Marr was anything special and Morrissey just seemed like a sixth form poet. I did like Panic though.

Posted

Don't worry, Eddy I never saw the appeal either. He seems not to have moved from 1984, all still full of 'Thatcher out', right-on left-wing bollocks as if the miners strike was still going and Ronnie was still president of the 'free world'.

Maybe he should move to Cuba or North Korea or some other god-damn Commie shit-hole and bloody well stay there*.

*Sorry, I read the Daily Mail today and I think its taking over like some sort of osmosis!!

Certainly not. I was too busy fawning over Julie in the Balfour News shop, 10 doors down from where I worked in the 80s, to even give a fuck about The Smiths. I also had a night job in a pub, where the landlord banned anything but heavy rock and Irish music. Excellent!

Thank goodness! There's a lot of stuff I don't get, but everyone around me seems to. I often feel like Jake The Peg... :?

Just went to the local co op to purchase some well earned beer after working 13 hours today.

Woman at the till asked for my ID, which I don't mind at all. She spent an awkward minute looking at it, then back at me, then back at the licence.

She then put my licence in her pocket and wouldn't serve me claiming it was "obviously fake and the photo wasn't even of me". She wouldn't give me my driving licence back. I tried to reason with her - look at all these credit cards and other cards I have with the same name. Look at the van outside that I need the fucking driving licence to drive here. She wasn't having any of it and was walking off into the back of the shop ignoring me. I got it back in the end when a couple of coppers pulled up outside and it ended up as "Look love, either give it me back or I'm going outside and telling them you've stole it from me"

I'm 26 years old. The picture is very definitely of me, It's not like I've changed my hair in the last decade or anything. I'm too old for this shit now.

I know that people on tills do get grief off scrotes trying to buy beer and sympathize with them, but I was nothing but polite (initially!) and I really do look exactly like my licence photo. If it wasn't for the plod turning up she'd have still had my licence!

never liked smiths or morrisey and not likley too the way that cnut carries on. Be nice if our border control refused him entry back into the country.

I also hate Bonio, now he is a weapons grade cunt

Probably an urban legend but i heard that he was on stage slow clapping his hands and shouted out to the auditorium that every time he claps his hands a child in Africa dies. Some wag at the back called back "for Gods sake man stop clapping then!"

That could have been me if I had been forced at gunpoint into the same theatre as him.

No civvy* is allowed to confiscate official document like a driving licence off you. I wouldn't even have reasoned with her, I'd just have phoned the police.

*ok the police are technically civilians, but you know what I mean. No non-official persons.

now go back in when she is on the till and do a massive shop about £150-£200 worth then when she rings it up, say to her "nah changed my mind, it's cheaper in morrisons" and leave all the stuff for her to put back

I saw a tidy red LHD Citroen DS and an even tidier dark green 1750 Maxi today, but was driving so couldn't get pics!

(PS I never liked the Smiths either)

Morrissey is a knob. Grade One. Proper wanker.

"How soon is now" wasn't a bad tune, but as for the rest of their dire, self-obsessed, "wryly observational" bollocks I'm happiest when it's not within earshot. Miserable, wrist slitting, 15yr old vegan bollocks.

I hope he gets eaten by a rogue lion.

CRB checks.

I flipping hate that these days you are innocent until proven guilty, except when it comes to paedophilia... then you are a paedophile until proven innocent*

I have nothing to hide, but in terms of the CRB check, neither has any criminal who hasn't been caught. What a hateful exercise in paper pushing.

Faux-lezzer Ruskie bints tATu did a reasonable cover of this.

When I ran a junior football team I had to have a CRB check and to be honest they can only really be a good thing. Ok, some of the rules seemed a little excessive (I couldn't have any children in the car unless another adult or my son was present) but even then I suppose you can understand why.

Posted

Talking of Tatu, I was having a bit of a reminisce of shite ol' pop the other day on YouTube and they came up. How the hell did they get away with that video?! I know that makes me sounds about 70 and about to go on about the lack of morals associated with a skirt hemline that's any higher than the ankle but really!

In fairness, CRB checks cover more ground than just possible sexual deviancy - in my old job, I had no contact with the public at all, but still had to be checked simply because I had access to the basic medical details of adults.

I agree it can seem utterly pointless, but I guess even if it only picks up one or two people who have relocated after an unpublicised conviction, then it's still a good thing, especially where kids are concerned.

I agree, I was being a bit OTT, but mostly because I was mirroring what I believe a lot of people think CRB checks are. "Joe Public" seem to believe CRB checked = safe.

Also it irritates me that I have to have one to sit in a room with other moms and babies because I organise the group. If I wanted to attend the group, I wouldn't need one even though my activities as organiser (in terms of contact with any vunerable person) do not differ at all with the activities of someone visiting my group.

I'm still having my check done, and it was done for my previous job. I'm just not totally in agreement with them.
