Best printer ever: HP laserjet 4+. Thing was indestructible. Got rid of it because it needed a new fuser or something and I thought it would be better to replace it with something USB.

No.

PC LOAD LETTER 4 EVER

Anyway, drove into the staff car park yesterday morining to see a small dead cat that had had it's head and tail chopped off. People are horrible sometimes.

That's serial killer shit right there.

Agreed. I've had one of those for years, and it never gives any trouble

Bloody corsa has failed the M.o.T big time. Needs a steering joint or two, a new wheel bearing and major work on the emissions. Hydrocarbon level is 4x the normal level so would need a new cat and o2 sensor at the very least. Have been quoted 300 quid plus to fix it which is more than the car is worth.

So am on the lookout for another car. Only rules are that it must be cheap as chips and small-ish engined. Not got a great deal of cash available basically. Any shitists got anything out there up for sale soon or end of t'month?

Putting my phone numbers on a couple of quote sites for Van insurance, ffs, retard.

I'll be off for a new sim card tomorrow and throw the old one in a river.

They must be bloody desperate for business...

That was a pretty nasty greeting for the new bloke! Hope you're not expected to respond in kind (unless someone claims responsibility, in which case, I'll help you...)

Thats probably a bit more than my budget will allow, Billy. I have like literally the Corsa and a couple of hundred quid to allow for another motor...not good...

Got a 1992 rover 216 Auto for sale....any use to you? taxed end of March, MOT until September.

Sounds good but unfortnately i live the other end of the country :-(

if you have a couple of hundred, plus the scrap value of the corsa, you should be able to find something local.

the only downside is that small engined cars have a premium attached to them.... or just bite the bullet and repair the corsa. better the devil you know, you could spend £300 on a new car and find yourself in a whole world of new pain.

Any one know of a reliable stairlift engineer in Kent who will turn up when I have taken a day off work and gone to my parents house to meet them?

This is pure piss-taking. I need a new door mirror to replace the nearside one that's being held in place with cable ties.

Ebay has them in:

Auralis Blue (2), Petrol Blue, Silver, Nouveau Red, Tourmallard Green, Dark Aubergine (2 or 3) and Dark Maroon.

AND NOT A GREY ONE IN SIGHT.

Posted

My Volvo 940 had non matching mirrors (one kingfisher blue and one black on a aubergine coloured car) for years until I sold it.

It was a statement of shiteness. :)

Posted

I see what you mean, but you can't get much shiter than it being held in place with cable ties and insulated from water by 2 layers of parcel tape.

Parcel tape? Shiters use sellotape.

I wouldn't say better nor would i say worse (As the 309 has never let me down, even before i did the valve stem oil seals when it smoked like a B*tch)

All i know is that it won't be as fun ..... but all will become clear

Just SORN'd the Volvo I bought for spares recently online,

Declare SORN

Gap in licensingThere has been a gap in the licensing of the vehicle.

Previous Tax Disc or SORN declaration expired on: 01 03 2009

It is an offence to be the registered keeper of a vehicle that is unlicensed and does not have SORN declared. You can declare SORN from today's date, however, please note the above offence still applies. DVLA's Continuous Registration Enforcement Centre may be in contact with the registered keeper regarding this gap in licensing.

Does that mean that the previous owner is going to get dry bummed for fines, or me? Its on disabled tax BTW.

Is it in your name? You can only be bummed from when you acquired it. Although you're meant to tell them even when it's nigh-on impossible to if you follow their system. Sending letters and stuff. Bollocks.

i tried to sorn the granada when the v5 came back in my name, couldnt do it online, the system wouldnt let me, as its been off the road longer than the sorn system has been in place

Its in my name now, I bought it a few weeks ago but only got the V5 through recently. The PO owned it for about 10 years or so.

I've had the same problem with the Rebel, even sent loads of SORN forms off to DVLA.

Not even a single letter back from them

Been ill for the last 3 weeks.

During that time have had a stupid runny nose, achey type flu but not enough to kill me / take time off. I work as a lecturer and asked my class today how many were ill. Out of a group of 16, 11 were ill. No wonder I keep getting stuff.

Have had to my injections for Cambodia at the weekend and I am sure that has made things worse...

i was having a lie-in this morning....until a hammering on the door at 7:50am - bloody postie with a 50 metre roll of bubblewrap i bought yesterday

Just to pay the bills... I'm running this ad at the moment, the latest in a series, on an expats forum called CyprusLiving. This is a revised version, before this revision I also sold a four-drawer freezer and some patio furniture. There's going to be more and more stuff as time goes on...

CL ad reads:

2002 Vauxhall Brava was 3,750 euros NOW ONLY 3,600 EUROS

Further details of all these can be found in my previous ad here.

Inflatable swimming pool, 15 ft diameter, with cover, groundcloth, filter pump, stepladder and inflator, all new here 2009, was 90 euros. NOW ONLY 75 EUROS

Diplomat dishwasher, can be seen in action, was 75 euros. SOLD

Swing seat, new 2009, 50 euros.

100_2198-vi.jpg

Dining table and 6 chairs, metal/wood, was 75 euros. NOW ONLY 65 EUROS

Xbox games, for original Xbox (not 360), 10 euros each. Please ask for titles.

All prices ovno; please call 99009826. Items located in Mesogi, just off Polis Road.

Quite enough to make one "Grumpy" I think. I bought the freezer (used) in march because we were moving to this house, which is bigger than the one we had, and I thought the extra freezer space would be handy. I was right. But, we need the cash, things have to go. Yes, even my restoration project. There's someone for everything if you can wait long enough. Question is, can I?
