Being unable to leave negative feedback for buyers on ebay.

In particular a turkish named twat from northamptonshire who not only ignored the 'DO NOT bid if you have 20 feedback or less' on not one but TWO items I was selling but then failed to pay for either item leaving me £168 down. I have reported him and got my final fees back but why on earth can I not leave this armhole negative feedback !!!!!!!

Agree, that is completely wrong.

I have only ever bought stuff on eBay and in all but one early instance have had no problems whatsoever. All the same I recognise that there are arseholes on both sides of the transaction and as such should be subject to the same censures and disciplinary actions.

Well if we're talking ebay grumps how about this:

Last Sunday, after a few text speak messages via ebay, some chap comes to view my Land Rover. After a test-drive and mentioning the faults I had already listed on the advert we agree a price. He has only got buttons on him so no deposit taken and the whole thing goes through ebay.

So with an ebay I.D. of Glinton-cars and strapping trade plates to the car before our test drive when he phones to arrange collection he asks why am I selling it.Hmm.alarm bells.Anyway, collection arranged for Tuesday, cable theft meant train delays so re-arrange for Wednesday. On the day he texts saying he can't get until 5 pm so would I tax it for him.I was reluctant but agreed.Wednesday night stuck in traffic could he come Thursday.Ofcourse Thursday it's the old "family emergency" excuse so I hit him with a non paying bidder alert.Nothing yesterday so I send a message asking for the money for the car tax he ordered and if I get no response then court action.Today he sends a text message "surprised" I want to cancel the transaction and would only pay part of the tax as I can get a refund.

As the car is not registered to me how do I get a refund.I don't is the answer. This sort of time and money wasting thing would be brought down to a minimum if sellers were allowed to leave negative feedback when it is deserved.

Im going to try something new here and have a grump with myself.

Basically, Charlotte and I have split up.

Shes coming to collect some stuff in the morning and she'll be gone from my life, probably forever and its all my fault.

Theres been no argument, no harsh words, no screaming or shouting, Ive just come to the realisation that I don't feel for her what she feels for me.

I'm throwing away the last year and a quarter and the love of a very good woman because I can't get my head in the right place to love her back.

Im hurting her and myself and worst of all I can't give her any answers that she'll accept.

'Its not you, its me' really won't cut it.

Im fucking heart broken, but seemingly Im not heart broken enough to tell her everything will be fine, hug her and continue being unhappy with the situation.

That's a tough situation and I can see why you're beating yourself up over it, but if you know deep down that she ain't "the one" you're probably doing the right thing calling a halt now before you get too far in (marriage, kids, overdraft, people carrier...). Following your heart can be a hard thing to do sometimes & it takes guts to let someone who loves you down.

Don't be too hard on yourself, you never know what's around the corner.

Ooh that's harsh. I've been there myself, it isn't a good experience. I got past it in time, as you probably will, but there are so many traps it's easy to fall into along the way. You can make it less unpleasant for yourself, there are ways. Don't replace Charlotte with booze; don't go and hook up with the first deranged bunnyboiler you meet; try to keep your head at work.*

Sorry to hear that, mk1. It takes time for these things to sort themselves out.

I am rather grumpy because I can feel the manflu wrapping me around its finger...

Fed up that I can't shift my Mongdeo. My OH has lost her job too and now we are struggling to pay rent and all our bills now, hence why I'm getting rid of it. I'm open to offers on it so if anyone knows who wants a really good motor can they please let me know so I can sleep at night and not worry about being served an eviction notice any time soon

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

You won't thank me for this (sorry) but Mondeos seem about as poplier second hand as a white dog turd. Still can't shift mine either and actually considering breaking it for parts.

If you're stuck and potless though give me a shout and I'll put your's on my eBay account to try and sell it for you if it helps.

Mine sold ok. Eventually. For £550. On a '53 plate.

Yeah I'm getting the impression they are being avoided like the plague which is typical as I need to sell it like yesterday...

Would you mind doing that for us Billy? There's a virtual pint for you on the bar buddy.

is that a mk3 shape??

My Mk2 just went through yet another MOT just needing a £3 from the scrappy brake pressure valve. I still really like mine, had it 4 1/2 years and it has been brilliant. Cheap to run, reliable and nice to drive (Billy, you will have to have a go sometime to see if it is any different to others you have driven and not liked)

Posted

A bit unbelievable coming from a Vauxhall apologist but I just found the Mk2 incredibly, eye wateringly dull, Si. They're a reliable car and all that but honestly the interior alone just makes me want to get out and walk: the plastics just annoy me to the extreme. No offence mate, I know you love your's, and each to their own, but I honestly find them depressing. Just can't find anything at all that could make me ever want to own another one long term and sending them over the bridge cheers me up.

Like I say that's just my opinion and there are thousands and thousands who feel the same way about Vauxhalls, so horses for courses and all that.

GGS: have pm'd you.

Posted

Oh, I know how you feel about them Billy (and it doesn't bother me in the slightest) I did think you said you didn't like how they drove but must be mistaken. Mine has that awful plastic wood dash, I have another plain black one I must get around to putting in sometime.

I need another st24 wheel if you ever see one by the way. :D

Posted

I quite like Mondeo's..but sadly the only ones I get offered are in the £500 plus bracket...way too rich for my shite needs....and to be honest as much as I like them, they actually put me off Ford as a manufacturer  something I never thought I would say.............

This should be in the eBay thread but this kind of shit really annoys me...

'Q: Hi, have you still got the original vin tags showing daytona as colour, as the V5 now states white, i assume its had a colour change,+ how much to have a deal now, regards Kev,

A: sorry no tags lost years ago,yes has been several colours, originaly yellow, letting auction run thanks

It does look like it may have been a rally/competition car some years ago; if so, it was common practice when re-shelling to retain the original registration number and hence the MSA logbook rather than have to get the MSA to check your new shell everytime it gets wrapped around the scenery.

Edit: original colour is still visible on the inside of the C-pillar, but has been painted in sponsor's colours at somepoint too (hence the white).

Whilst I'm ranting about eBay I stated on the listing for my car 'Don't bother asking me how much I want, what's the lowest for cash, how much for cash toniht*, what's the reserve etc' as I won't answer you.'

anyone want to guess what the first question I was asked was?

'how much car now'

Well, he got his answer which I strongly suspect wasn't the one he wanted. Best of all he is the only bidder on it anyhow

*Yes I know, put it down as a typo.
