But seriously, maybe it's the only way he will go away, he certainly isn't listening.

TV Licensing write to my garage about once a month - there is a cycle of letters starting with "We have noticed you don't have a telly licence" then "IMPORTANT - you need a TV licence" then "we are sending the boys round" but no-one ever comes to check. Their latest letter suggests that if a customer is watching live TV on a phone (for example) and plugs it into my mains supply to charge it I need a licence.

Wouldn't bother me much if they did, there isn't a TV (although there is a telecaster) but it bothers me that their whole argument is that everyone, everywhere has a TV and watches it all the time (even at work).

820e power steering

One of the power bloody steering pipes decided it would be a fun idea to pop off and spew p/s fluid all over the road outside my house AGAIN! There is already stains on the road from the previous pipe problems it had.

The p/s system obviously doesnt want to do the job its built for. Funnily enough I was singing the cars praises to my mate only a few minutes before, no sooner had I parked up when I heard a *pop* sound from the engine area and steam rising through the bonnet shut lines. I got and saw lots of red fluid on the tarmac, I popped the bonnet and saw the p/s pipe had somehow loosend itself off, I've managed to reattach the pipe, how long thats gonna last is anyones guess and now I need a bottle of p/s fluid to refill the system. I've no money until tomorrow and cant really drive the car without risking damage to the pump.

I've a pretty tight schedual tomorrow, so I dont need to be trapsing around to buy yet more pissing p/s fluid and worrying whether the pipe will find a away of coming off again whilst out. I can see myself sending this car back to my mate very soon.

Unthinking oafs who spoiled what could have been a good photo of a beautifully presented Suntor camper on a rare Morris A55 base by sticking on it a dirty great A4 advert for their own show, at someone else's show:

Well I have news for you. No-one has to go to the Shareshill Vintage Fayre and spelling 'Fair' like that doubles the reasons for not going. May the heavens open on your event.

What the fuck are Ordnance Survey playing at? "Getamap" used to pop up a wee window and you got about 16 squares of map - now I have to update my operating system and install a fucking Microsoft plug-in to view a fucking OS map? Fuck off!

In a field, 'working' at a car show. I have a GPRS terminal to take card payments. Women comes up, asked if I do cashback without charge. I explain politely why I, as a small business can't do cashback in the middle of a Welsh field.

She looks at me as though shes caught me doing unspeakable things with a family pet and walks off

I'd love a microcar to fiddle about with. Why on earth are they so bloody expensive? This is already at over a grand. Seems a lot for what will effectively be an ornament (not really a vehicle for motorway journeys). I think I might just lash a few bits of wood together, lob a scooter engine on top and flog the hash-job for ££££s. Easy profit!

Sitting at home drinking. Day off tomorrow. £2500 available on my credit card and looking at this on the bay.

Dickhead of the year award if I continue drinking and hit the wrong button.

The pissed side of my brain is telling me that it has proven and basic mechanicals and therefore is a sensible choice.

What's the worst that could happen?

Mongs on retro rides.

Posted up a for sale thread with some bits from the white 480 I R breaking. Mentioned other things available from the car that were not pictured in the thread. I mentioned what else was available. One thing I stated that the car definitely didn't have, were alloys. I said that the car 'doesn't have alloys'.

Several minutes later I get:

what alloys are they

Seriously lads, start the thresher.

Spent the day stripping down the MG Metro, I was quite excited on getting started on the restoration as I have a clear idea of the finished article. Unfortunatly I fear the terminal rot uncovered will mean the finished article will be frag fodder.... :(

To the bald headed thirty something in the silver 11 plate Corsa with his foglights on at 1PM on a perfectly clear day, yes I did see the frustrated look on your face and the muttering of what I presume were rude words as you approached the mini roundabout that you were going to be stuck behind the 22 year old Nissan rapidly approaching from the right. I hope the ecofail or whatever lump it has fitted blows up tomorrow.

Fuji Finepix Z20. Very nice compact digital camera, expensive too - £100.

Somehow its screen was smashed while in the hold of a plane, and the quotes to fix it ranged from £70 - £80. Well, buoyed by my success repairing a digital camera in the past I ordered a new screen from eBay and set about taking it apart. And botched it so severely it won't even turn on anymore and the front of the case doesn't fit properly.

So that's actually cost me more than if the camera had been stolen.

So do I, wish I never started poking around! It's so rotten on the underside of the guttering the roof hardly seems attached between at the A and C pillars! The general consensus on the Metro owners club is when the guttering goes its game over. Also the front panel, valance, both front footwells etc etc are suffering  However, I'm committed to fixing if it is repairable, my knowledge of welding is zero so I'll have to get some expert opinions....

Everything van related on AutoTrader being listed as export, presumably means they are knackered?

I guess the gutters also serve as the seams between panels. I always thought the rust was just what could be seen on the surface as the rest seemed solid. I hope you don't find any more nasties.

Incessant e mail surveys. Salford, you'd be very upset if you actually bothered to ask me properly.

We haven't received module feedback forms for our video journalism course. Oooh, I wonder why? Why can you send me some mithering bollocks from a head of school about general 'experience' questions, but not for the modules that were complete crap?

Dear student,

I contacted you twice in the last two weeks asking for help with my

research. As today (midnight) is the deadline of submitting the

questionnaires I would like to take an opportunity to thank you very

much for your help, if you have already responded to my request.

However, if you have not had a chance to do it yet then I would be very

grateful if you could spend a couple of minutes in completing the

questionnaire by using this link: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/SFV2MNF

Your help is really appreciated as every single response matters a lot

to my research.

This research is anonymous but if you are not interested in

participating in it please simply ignore this message and accept my

apologies for taking your time to read it.

I don't like its tone, and I cannot be bothered. Stop cluttering up my sodding inbox. I have people turning me down for interviews \ research for coursework all the time. DEAL WITH IT. Has it ever occurred to you that I might be busy, and not on my e mail all the time? Has it?

Don't be so ungrateful Wat, I've filled it out.

If they only get my "highly unsatisfied" survey then they will dismiss it as statistically insignificant, however if they get yours and those of all your Autoshite friends it will make the faculty look rather awful.

Shit, I forgot I included the link in there, nice one :D

It's probably to highlight the fact to exporters. In the same sort of way people used to type 'Ford Cortina not Cavalier 406 Escort Mk2' into their ebay listings to attract those that search for key words.

Sweet, camera ordered. Thanks! I don't mind losing the money on the new screen, I knew it was a gamble trying to fix it. Tiny plastic comb on the end of a ribbon connector disintegrated while I was trying to get it back together - thought it would be okay since it was just a scaled down version of a laptop keyboard connector.

I could do with a camera like that - how did you get one - it says out of stock for all of them?
