Seem to be plagued by Cumbria’s camera vans this week. The last one was parked on the verge blocking my view trying to join the A66 from a farm road. Asked him how exactly that was contributing to road safety but predictably , no real answer. Mumbled something about HGVs doing 80 where the speed limit was 56. I explained both would kill me in a collision, I’d rather take my chances with one doing 80 that I could see. Again, no answer. 
I think he just wanted me to swear at him so he could call his mates to arrest me. Was exactly the sort of person I would have expected too.

We had a wet room installed for my disabled daughter, done around 10 years ago, iirc it was over £10k then, although the initial estimator didn't take into account the lack of a suitable power supply for the shower, which caused the electrician some headaches tho🙄

Got overtaken by 2 cars racing heading in to a 40 like I was going backwards.

 

And I've just walked the dog and fuck me, half 6 in the morning and people are barreling around making as much racket as they fucking want like it's half 12 in the afternoon. Absolutely piss all respect.

 

Here's me saving electric so I can drive quietly down the narrow residential streets.

Yeah, seems to be more of the 'me,me,me and fuck anyone else ' attitude.

Being on a route towards the coast, we get a lot of traffic going that way, and some of it is in competition with the jets from Marham for noise.

I'm near a main road, that goes derestrict just after a roundabout, so you expect people to put their foot down a bit, but some of them, well it makes me laugh when they go on about noise cameras!

Some of the bikes are the worst, running about on stuff that's basically unsilenced. I'm not a killjoy, but come on guys, have some sense.

Also I've driven some pretty noisy stuff, and the drone after a while becomes really wearing 😕

205 has had a FTP. Just as I pulled into the depot clutch cable snapped. Good job I had a spare in the garage, which the wife has brought into my workz I was planning on changing it when I do the clutch plate and crank seal this weekend, but it had other ideas!

Insurance includes breakdown recovery, so it’ll be going back home on a beavertail.

My parents house is close to a dualled stretch of the A66. Looking at YouTube videos, I’d  say the noise on a Bank holiday w/e is somewhere between the end of a runway at Heathrow and the flight deck of an aircraft carrier.

Bikes just take the piss, because they know the speed cameras can’t touch them.

I hear bikes going up our single lane but well sighted bypass/ring road. Utterly caning it, can hear them drop a gear for the roundabout 3/4 a mile away then cane it again off that 😂

It's cool to hear sometimes but I can imagine being the pissed off car driver with Johnny dickhead weaving through the cars whilst trying to maintain 90+ as they do

I used to get it alot in the xsara, in the wide qq I sit further across so their forced to slow down and wait for a gap that's sometimes there 🙄

Not being a smart-arse or anything. I'm genuinely curious how. Is it because of just one numberplate, or because some of them run tiny numberplates mounted at funny angles?

A friend of mine is a copper, he was once shown about a dozen pictures of the same motorcycle passing a camera on his way to work in the morning. Some of them were no hands on the bars, all were at comedy speeds, but the rider clearly arrived at work on time each morning and PC  Gary just parked up, waited a few moments and nicked him for the lot.

No front number plate so camera vans and average speed cameras can’t catch them. Yes they can be caught by the old Gatso type but you can see them a long way off and you really have to be a bit dozy to get caught by them.

Sent it to my daughter as I was sure that she would like it, works for RSPCA, as soon as she opened it she was immediately banned from the site

A few years ago there was a large hole in a six foot high brick wall in our street made by a biker going through it, never found out what happened to them but I assume it hurt. Doesn't deter them though. 
Our street, in a residential 30 limit with houses along both sides, is quite wide and long which makes it irresistible to the two wheeled wankers. 
I'm not a biker so I don't know how fast 'Bwaaaaaa, BWAAAAAA, BWAAAAAAA! is on the average loud bike but I'm willing to bet it's more than 30mph by a factor of at least 2, possibly 3. 

Can't remember who it was, but someone once said. "There are old motorcyclists and there are bold motorcyclists, but there are no old, bold motorcyclists".

I have developed a visceral hatred of the type of fairweather motorcyclist that leaves their brain at home and comes over to the peak district every sunny weekend/BH and makes everyone elses life hell riding around with a death wish on unsilenced sportbikes.  I do really try not to hate anything or anyone, it's unhealthy, unpleasant and unhelpful.

Last week when I watched one overtake a queue of slow moving traffic (all indicating to turn right!) at 80+ mph and narrowly avoid getting wiped out by three different cars because of his stupid actions, I realised that I was genuinely disappointed that the bloke had escaped with his life. This is the level to which these inconsiderate and irresponsible shitheads have driven me! I'm ashamed of myself TBH.

A few years ago a friend of mine was driving home one sunday afternoon and came round a bend to find one of these dickheads jammed halfway through a dry stone wall with his limbs and head all pointing in various incorrect directions. Blood everywhere. Since my mate is first aid trained, he did his best to save the blokes life (in vain) for a very lonely 15 minutes while the ambulance arrived. He's never been quite the same since.

Another friend had a similar incident ten years ago - watched a bike overtake him then overcook it on a left hand bend and end up going under an oncoming peugeot 307. Punctured the sump, Head completely facing the wrong way.  He tried to help. He even lied at the inquest saying that the bloke "wasn't going that fast" because he couldn't bear to tell the truth in front of the mans heartbroken wife and kids.

 

It's not just their own families lives they destroy, nor is it the unfortunate family driving a car in the wrong place at the wrong time when a 53 year old obese builder from Mansfield decides he's Guy Martin for the day.

Bloody fucking Evri. Why is possible to be so shit or wilfully incompetent at something? I ordered some new plants from ebay, then saw who was expected to deliver them. Sure enough I got the delivery attempted message a few days later (translation, we've nicked or binned your parcel so we don't have to deliver it).

The stupid thing is that I'd be quite happy to pay extra to actually receive things I order but I can't find out who the deliverer is going to be (unless I go via Amazon) until I've ordered.

If you want a blessed relief, visit Gothenburg for a couple of days.  It's honestly the quietest city I've ever been to.  It's not that people can't drive their cars around - it's that they do so considerately and with the minimum of fuss.

She isn't the sort to upset anyone but does use social media for professional purposes rather than sharing photo's of her rice crispies.  I may pose some difficulties for her for no obvious reason.

I'm not sure if I've run over a magpie, black cat or something, but I've just had my 6th bloody puncture repair done this year, 4 on the van and 2 on the Passat.

I didn't get charged for this one as the repair patch the tyre fitter did a couple of months ago failed, reckons its never happened to one of his repairs before, I believe him, he's a decent fella.

I know I do a lot of miles, but come on, give me a fucking break with it all please.

Seller's disappeared into the abyss. Phone number doing nothing, address appears fake. Company listing only a few weeks old. 

He's a little fool who really needs to learn to walk before he can run (usual story) but damn, Fifteen grand gone. Not sure if I could live with myself tbh.
