Whenever I get an Asda delivery these days I think "where's the fucking rest of it!?"

I usually shop at aldi, and when I buy from asda I seem to spend more and get less.

I think Asda sits between Lidl/Aldi and the rest? Locally (in driving distance) we have a Morrisons, Tesco & Lidl - all 45 minutes from here.
Asda is 70 + miles but they will run a van out to here and, so far, have a decent hit rate on delivery/substitutes because (I think) they are loading up in the big store in Swansea rather than a smaller one.
Nearest Aldi is 44 miles (Cardigan) away but I know folks not too far from here that will take a drive over there to stock up.

Basically, I hate shopping so would much rather have a dude in a van rock up (one due this morning in fact - 1 substitute :-(

ABS light is on on my 75. Took it to one of our esteemed members who diagnosed  a possible faulty ABS pump, but could be anything. and accepted no payment.

Took it to a T4 man, who diagnosed possible faulty ABS pump, but could be pins/wires/anything.  and relieved me of £20. Which was quite fair, but didn't help.

MOT in a few weeks time.

Do I try a second hand unit, from a car which may have been scrapped because of ABS light?  I was hoping it was a wheel sensor.

Or buy another 75/whatever, on which the  ABS light may come on the very next day.

Maybe a bit obvious but can’t you get a tested one that’s still on a car from someone breaking a 75?

Nah mate, never* had a problem with the ABS light 😂

Anyone  on here got one I'll buy it. I'm going to get the battery shelf off next week, see if the pipes will undo.

It's supposed to be possible to just swap the electric bit and leave the pipes alone. I'll ask on here.

Idiot sister in thick as pig shit shock, news at 10!

She's stationary at traffic lights yapping on phone to Ma about this horse that had a really big shit. She gets hit up the arse and shunted forwards. Got to go somebody has just crashed into me.

10 mins later she phones back.

He was a nice young man. His car was fucked up! But there's no damage to my car at all.

Did you get his details?
No! Why would I?
Not even the number plate?
No! Why would I?

Hmmm, let me count the ways.

Your expert* diagnosis of no damage turns out to be wrong when you try to open a door.
You find your neck / empty little head starts hurting tomorrow.
Your insurance company wants to know why you've not reported the accident you had where you reversed into the poor man's car and injured the 5 people in it. Followed by driving off.

Well she hasn't got any evidence anyway! That's because the dashcam I bought you is in a drawer and not in the window of your car...

Seriously, grow a set of bollocks and blow your fucking top at her explaining to her (instead of a bunch of randoms on a website) everything that's wrong with her.

If you're too scared to do that, give me her address and I'll do it.

Everything? I'm 50 now, don't think I've enough time left!

Did attempt to point out the problems of letting nice* man drive away, but it just ended up with us screaming fuck fuck fuck at each other, and Ma giving me a hard time 'cos I'm obvs the bad guy.

It makes me feel a smidge better to share, and I'll take a smidge when everything around me is going to hell in a handcart.

So then you say and do the same to her.  If someone like that won't co-operate, scare them into shutting up.

(My mother is the same sometimes - my sister could try to murder me and it would still somehow be my fault.)

The air-con saga goes on. We're now in almost in the middle of summer and yet the Vectra still doesn't have working air-conditioning.

So this rare unobtainable pipe has now actually been found and was supposed to be fitted, but of course, no. One pipe couldn't be fitted properly due to some broken faster, so now again, I have to wait. At this point I'll never have working air-conditioning in this car.

Waiting for several hours I almost fell ill there, breaking out in a cold sweat and then couldn't stay at my Mum's due to feeling unwell, despite that, I went home, had a sleep for a few hours and felt much better.

I still cannot believe that something that should be so simple has turned into a farce that's dragging on and on and on....

OK, so yeah, the UK is not the place to be needing air-con all the time. However, over the years I've had air-con equipped cars that have never worked, either because of it being too old a system (Rovers) small issues that are far too complex and expensive to sort (Peugeot) or lack of money (Vectra B 2.2 Diesel).

Basically, I've rarely had the opportunity to have a car with fully working air-con. I would now like this and as per usual with my luck, the issues are dragging on and on and on. Quite simply, I'm utterly fucking pissed off at being able to have something very simple such as working air-conditioning. I'm sure there are others out there who have retro-fitted an air-con system into their cars with less hassle.

I am going to Belgium next month and it will be hot, the last few years of being there have seen me in vehicles that either don't have air con or are not equipped. I want working air conditioning in my car, this shouldn't be too much to ask ffs.

No need to justify yourself, I'll not own a car without working A/C.

I'm really looking forward to dealing with this...

Got a raging toothache on the way, I sense. It's a filling that was done previously (I can't remember when, but within the last 2 years. Probably year..) which was faulty. Took me a little while to convince the dentist that said filling actually was faulty because it shouldn't be loose.

After a few attempts of convincing her, she reluctantly agreed it was indeed loose, and refilled it at the time.

Had a further checkup booked for a couple of months ago now. They decided to randomly cancel it, which is not uncommon.

The only way to rebook is to send an email, to which they will never, ever reply to, or be a bit of a ninja through the automated phone system to actually speak to a human receptionist.

My previous, failed attempt of making a booking (to rearrange the checkup THEY cancelled) went as follows:

"Hello, you recently cancelled my appointment, I would like to rebook please"

"Certainly sir, please email [email protected] detailing your enquiry and a member of our team will call you back to take a booking and a deposit"

WTF?

"Sorry, is this a new policy?" [It was always possible to phone up before, and no deposit was required]

"Yes, due to increased demand and a shortage of NHS dentists we now require a deposit"

Couldn't they make it a little bit more secure, reliable and less convoluted!? It's just an idiotic Friday afternoon management decision to solve a problem that shouldn't exist....

Anyway, my options are -

- Send an email, which will never be replied to. I've tried.

- Ring up and hope to speak to someone helpful who might take a booking and deposit on the spot...

- Take time off work and drive the 15 miles there to arrange the appointment and pay for it in person, risking being turned away and directed towards the defective email booking system.

I'm grateful for NHS dentistry, but quite frankly not when it's not fit for purpose..

😭😭😭

When did it become acceptable to take your shoes off in the cinema? Went on Friday, there were about five people, shoes off, feet on the headrest of the seat in front.

Trade you for a car with working AirCon ? 🙈

Local bloke is spot on for AirCon, if you get any further aggro. If it's just a clip and pipe.... how hard can it be ?

Our mate Sam will know someone local and decent.

Disagree. A/c is at least as useful in the winter as it acts as a dehumidifier and helps stop the windows steaming up.

Even in our slightly warm summer , the large amount of glass in the average car’s cabin acts like a green house, so 20C outside can easily get to well over 30C inside. I think maintaining a comfortable temperature inside is a major safety factor for longer trips. A window open on the motorway gets tiring and if you’re too hot you can get drowsy.
