I have a 24 page thread just on invacars if that tickles your fancy :)

start from page 1 and see how many pages you can manage to read through? no one should bother you if you do it at work too, because they will see your screen full of invacar and automatically assume you have lost it and are not to be approached

Well whether it causes climate change or not, pumping loads of co2 into the atmosphere is not a sustainable long term plan. Because even if it is proven that carbon emissions are not causing climate change, we still have the thorny issue of the earth warming up changing the balance of ecosystems which doesn’t usually end well...

So. If it’s our fault or not we really need to start thinking whether we like Norfolk enough to try and defend it while we still can. And what sort of Olives we want to grow in scotland during the winter months

I'd like us to defend Norfolk as I live about 100 yards from the sea on the North Norfolk coast.

I'm surprised the car manufacturers don't just leave their cars here for corrosion testing - if it can rust it will and quickly.

I would just like to say apologies for disrupting the grumpy thread with my grumpiness. As you were.

Only a bit today. Got the camper van out, ran it up to temperature and did my usual few laps of the farm where it lives in the winter. Had a prod underneath at a known bit of needed weldage and pleased to find the vactan/paintable bilt hamber is still doing its stuff. Must get that done this year though....

Swapped the Morrisesss over between lock ups and home and booked the MOT on the Cowley for next week. Checked all levels, tyres and all that dull stuff.

Pissed off that they are still gritting round here though - not so much as an early frost for about 6 days now and the bloody roads are still coated with brown car-rotting shit. So couldn't blazz around the Forest in one of them which I had hoped to do - rode my bike to the nature reserve instead.

The salt is of great frustration eh? They chuck it down at the local retail park as thick as they can; obviously scared of today’s blame culture.

I’ll be picking your brain about vactan etc soon as I need to preserve my Mini - as well as the sierra and 190.

That site is run by scammers...it's £2.50.I nearly got caught like that..........apparently, no-one seems able to shut it down. Go in via Gov.uk, and you'll get the correct site.

This again. £2.50 ought to be criminal but that’s what it actually is.

I have just taken custody of a 205 project, thread on here about it. And changed the oil and filter on the V70 today. Sadly my Mum is back in hospital so just waiting to hear what is happening before I head out.

Bugger it, turns out my Mum has been having dizzy spells ever since she was let out of hospital last time (after pneumonia following a fall following a bump on the head) and decided not to mention to anyone. She has just arrived at A&E so I am going to head up and see if there is anything I can do. A&E on a Friday night? Wcpgw?

Bad news. Hope she's ok and you don't have to avoid too many drunkards in A&E this evening.

I had an poor experience with a Gumtree car seller today, but not in the usual fashion of mouth breathing and X-Boxes. Quite the opposite in fact.

I called and left a message about the car for sale (a slightly quirky 1980s model in reasonable condition) and the posh voiced seller called back and immediately started giving me the 3rd degree.

What is your full name? How is that spelt? Where did you see the car advertised? Where are you located? Are you a member of any local car clubs? Which one and for how long? Why did you say you saw it on Gumtree when it was in the club newsletter? Have you ever owned an XXX car before? What do you want with the car? You do realise it is a classic car? Would it be possible if I called you back in a couple weeks time to further discuss the car?

I'm sorry, but I thought it was the buyer that asks the questions, and when I did finally get a word in they were very vague with their answers.

Such a shame about the seller as the car looked like a stunner.

Is it a 2cv?

Fuck me. If I want something American and interesting according to ebay I had better be prepared to spend many thousands.

I became a headlight out wanker tonight, hoping I've got a dipped bulb in the shed. I felt at one with my fellow single headlight wanker compadre's

Made the light output even shitter than normal though, tempted to get some night breakers on payday or something. Luckily I got behind a queue of people behind the OMGTHERESACORNERBRAKEBRAKEBREAK twat on the back roads so could waft without worrying about leading the pack and not seeing much!

Yep... I needed to go out to buy milk, so naturally the battery had gone flat on my Disco again. Not surprising, I suppose, as I've driven it once in the last fortnight. So I charged it up, then mended my tyre compressor & topped up the tyres.

Then I went for an excellent hoon.

Spent a harrowing half hour underneath the Focus attempting to separate the back box from the centre section as it's rattling due to a loose baffle (I think). It saw no reason to part company so I felt disinclined to continue lying underneath like some sort of bastard. It can wait until it starts blowing then someone with a lift and overalls that aren't just dirty from spilling coffee on them can have the pleasure.

Instead, I poked at the rear arches to reveal a bit of rust, just surface fortunately and was expecting much worse. Top coat tomorrow whereupon I shall have effected an invisible* repair.

Gritters have been out this week despite it being nowhere near freezing at any point, today and yesterday have been lovely. I absolutely fucking hate road salt.

Get something from the states and ship it over. It’s not hard to do. Everything is ridiculously overpriced over here.

I’d much rather spend money on shipping than give it to greedy fucker who’s asking over the top.

My 30w CFL bulb died this evening. Had this for must be at least 10yrs now. Nice and bright (once warmed up) and daylight colour was useful when doing electronics. One of those lighting technologies that didn't last that long (thankfully). I imagine many have been chucked out from people getting fed up waiting for them to warm up.

Sad times.

Two things, the T2 failed its mot earlier this week on a rusty front beam.

I didn't grump because I thought it would fail on it last year.

And global warming etc.

I recycle only if my ordinary grey bin is full and generally do fuck all about being green.

Why?

Because I live under the paraffin trail of EMA,

Anything I do is rendered a total waste of time by the Ryanair that circuits the airport constantly,

Never mind the ones that are actually going anywhere.

A few years ago a mistake was made and I was over paid by 3.5k. I argued that the fault lay in the way they described something, and they argued that had I read the 36 page guide, I'd know what they meant.

I was allowed to pay back over 3 years. Which meant zero tax credits for 2 years and me paying them 65 quid a month for the last year.

The not doing both deduct and get payments only came into effect a couple of years back. I'm guessing there may have been a court case or tribunal decision causing this.

They mined my eldest daughter's bank account - without telling her that they were going to - for £1,600 and left her unable to pay her mortgage.

She had three kids at home, single mother (divorced)  no child support from her ex.

I should have worded my comment better, more along the lines of "they try not to" rather than "can't". Also, I don't know how they work the child support part (then and now), the possibility of them assuming it is being paid is quite high knowing the way these things work.

Seriously though, got to be worth asking Eddy surely!? It’s a very nice car. And most importantly it’s huge!
