Sadly not stupid enough as they still manage to breathe & breed.

Blame the 'hindbrain' hard wired in basic stuff :(  I hate thick, stupid people. I don't mind thck or stupid people if they accept that they are and ask for help, it's the ones that are thicker than pig shit but think they have Gods gift to the world of brains.

I have spent an hour tonight polishing the scratch off my new watches clasp. I ain't doing that again so I've ordered a leather strap for it, the bracelet can go in the safe until I come to sell it!

Please note, first world problems can still make you grumpy! :)

Had to get two items delivered from IKEA due to stock constraints at their Reading store. Both were scheduled to be delivered today.

Neither have turned up.

Ah well, good thing it was only the bed and sofa.

That’s ok. I think we’re still waiting for a “ my helicopter won’t start” grump.

There is even a name for that https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunning%E2%80%93Kruger_effect When you're too thick to know you're thick basicly.

Why isn’t there a ‘euphemisms’ thread?

Ur doing it rong;

There is a need for a euphemism thread! Will someone give me one?

Finally the other day I forgave my father for getting my blue RC Porsche 34 years ago and stamping on it in front of me because I accidentally* snapped his aerial on the wireless.

I have for the last 3 years been nursing a magnolia tree to good health, this year it is/was full of buds.... Then a football knocked 80% of them off. They set a goal up right in front of it judging by the bald patch of mud in the middle of the lawn.

Total rage overcome me when I got home from work but unlike my ol' man I just got the hump for a night or so. Nothing is to come from equal retaliation, just 34 years of spite.

My grump tonight is 12 year olds and their homework. I fear for the future at this time. Although especially having been a 12 year old boy, I accept that this moment should* pass. This is good because it means I am not outside right now bashing my head against a brick wall.

A woman went into a bar and asked for a double entendre so the barman gave her one

There isn't a euphemism thread, but there is a double entendre one in the non motoring bit)

Technology!

I've been trying to download the custom map off the power commander on my bike as my backup has been lost over the years what with my ex keeping one of my laptops etc.

I borrowed a serial-USB converter from work as my PC3 is so old it's a serial connection. This utterly refuses to install on my W7 Pro x64 laptop, which is rather odd as with exactly the same drivers it installs on my W7 Pro x64 work laptop...

I find the PSU that's been missing forever for my old XP netbook, thanks to progress* the cable installs instantly on that. Then I manage to find the software I need for the PC3, obviously it's not on the download section of the power commander website but hidden elsewhere that only google can find.

Get out to the garage after two hours of swearing & it's pretending the software is the wrong version for the map so I can't copy it off.

FFS!!!!!

More googling & it seems I need to load a map onto the software before it can read a map off the bike......OK! I manage to find a map online, again power commander don't offer them as it's too old. But no I still get the same error.

Fucking technology is a cunty mccuntcunt. I hate IT today.

Ha I win!

I managed to find a back up of the map off a broken laptop that I hadn't thrown away over the years.

I've even worked out why it wasn't working with the wrong map. Once you load a map it sets the size of the table the laptop has, the only maps I could find online were for big twins & only went up to 6k. Now I've got a map for my bike I can see it goes upto 10k. As the table has settings every 500rpm obviously a 10k map won't fit on a 6k template.

No whirly bird, had to sell them both to pay for the dollop :)

Contrary to popular belief, I am not rich or even solvent most of the time, I just spend all my money on cars, dogs and watches. Why do you think I'm divorced... and likely to stay that way for the foreseeable? :)

ebay grump Number 2...

ordered 2 Xeon L5410 CPUs for a computer project ebay listing shows a picture of an L5410 CPU with the stepping (sSpec) aka revision code of SLAP4 which is the revision of L5410 i need.

a few days later Postman hands me the Parcel...

theres a L5410 in there alright, but only 1 is to be found... and to add insult to injury its marked SLBBS ! which is a later revision which throws an unknown into the computer project im working on

so not only did the seller only send me 1 CPU when I ordered 2 he sent me one of the wrong revision not matching the one he posted a picture of in the listing!

I contacted the seller, he did apologise for the missing CPU and said he is looking into it, but on the revision code he said he just used a stock photo... if your going to use a stock photo at least make sure it matches the item your listing!. (he asked if i wanted the second CPU or a refund, to which I just said ill take the second CPU if its a SLAP4 otherwise im happy with a refund)

Thing is I managed good grades at GCSE level. I just never took it further with college or university. Was too busy pissing about with motorbikes and girls! Probably the reason I'm 30 with a 12 year old son and that trike!

Never assume from a photo - always ask or look for wording in an ad

I've been trying to remove the louvres ever since I discovered the car had roll-up blinds as standard.

Those louvres are there for a purpose, to prevent people looking at the wrong light when there's more than one set of lights in their eyeline and causing an RTC, particularly in the dark when it's less obvious which is which.

My new phone is still not on my old number. They said it would be done by 5:00 pm yesterday. It's a damn good job I have no friends  or I may have missed a call or... just one :(

They're just not very well adjusted....

Update. Order was cancelled. Not refunded either, just cancelled. What an absolute mess.

Delivery now likely to be Saturday. Incredibly frustrating but I think delivery is going to be refunded.

Tax code at work has changed, accountant just going by information supplied by HMRC so I have to phone them up and ask why, no paper work from HMRC.

My experience with HMRC is either fantastic and they are super helpful or I feel like I'm banging my head against a wall. Admittedly they've been very good the last couple of times I've called..

Notice of intended prosecution for 71 in a 60 on the M1 in this morning's post.

Then I went to give blood, wasted 40 minutes , drank a couple of litres of water then they tell me I'm too heavy for the rocking chair things, ok I'll stand says I. Not an option apparentlly.

Came home and discovered the dog's shit on the hall rug.

Also the council haven't emptied the green waste wheels bin again, ' couldn't get in the street' funny that the identical wagon for the black bags and recycling managed.

I'm not being helpful when I said if they knock on my door I'll reverse it down the street for them, according to the Council person.

The day can only get better, right? Right?

Every time I've had to phone them, they've been really helpful but they speak to me like I'm an accountant with 30 years experience

Ask them to explain how they've calculated my car deductions.... Might as well have asked how to calculate a trajectory to launch a man to Neptune. A very nice man, but speaking in tongues.
