.... Why not just park in a space that isn't the tightest in the car park? I just don't get people's thought patterns.

I am finding that less and less people actually HAVE thought patterns. In fact, I am convinced i can hear empty rattling noises from some peoples heads.

If he’s still there tomorrow I’ll pay for a parking permit if someone has a shitter to park against his rear bumper

Well, looks like it's that time for me again; that period where everything just goes to fuck, and it has, even simple things cannot be done without fucking it up.

Visa has gone to fuck.

Money is nowhere to be seen yet mounting bills are mounting.

Internet has been cut off.

Work is utterly shit, I mean, I don't mind working wherever, but ffs, really? Barely £300 a week and yet I'm working from 6am to 7pm, plus having to liase with customers and do admin work.

This shitty period can seriously fuck off right now.

Cheers man, I honestly can't see it myself. I've been through bad times before but akways had a back-up or coukd at least ride through it. Right now I'm free-falling with no safety net.

Something will turn up, maybe now is the time to look at something a bit different? Change is as good as a rest and all that.

It could be even worse than that, you could be relying on a goona to get 2 people to work, and travel 580 miles a week...

2 people who form a team and sub department

2 people who are mentioned by name in the Business Continuity plan and Disaster Recovery Plan

2 people who have the knowledge of the business systems that make the department work in their heads only...

Now that would be scary. Oh wait...

I've had this Nissan Pathfinder for two weeks as a rental now. It goes back day after tomorrow - and I'll be sad to see it go, as despite all expectations it's actually a very nice bus to run around in. It's even comfy, and the abundance of tech is actually mostly helpful and useful rather than annoying. Audi, take note.

The heated steering wheel is actually really bloody nice if you have an RSI problem in your hands...usually I have major problems with my right hand cramping up after an hour or so driving - that basically eliminates that issue.

However, 14 days in I've just figured out that I don't even need to fish the fob for it out my pocket... there's a little button on the driver's door handle, and if I press that when walking up to the car it will unlock it...and likewise lock it after all doors are closed.

Only took me a fortnight to figure that out... I'm bloody hopeless!

2 weeks & the chassis hasn't snapped in half yet? Must be a record!

Thought it was just the pickups that did that...

Actually feels surprisingly solid to be honest.

Bloody hell Mo, you're making as much as a Deliveroo rider. :(

I’m parked in a permit bay at the side of quite a busy road and I’m wondering if he is fed up with me parking in “his” space - it’s been there for a fortnight now and only moved once :D

Do you have a permit to park there?

I think the number I called was 03003000126 but that is from memory, it's the payment line in Leeds.

I rang it yesterday and spoke to a nice sounding lass who put me on hold for ages before confessing that the systems were down so to try again later.

Tried again later and got a lad with sense. When he realised that there was fuck all chance of sorting it out he offered me the chance to pay the original £3 charge and cancel the rest so I ripped his arm off.

Only taken me about 2 hours to save £35.

Why the bloody hell does everyone in the US insist on pretending it's the 14th century as far as bedding is concerned?!?

Why do we need six bloody layers of sheets, all of which weigh sod all so just wind up a tangled mess after five minutes and have the combined thermal retention properties of a couple of sheets of tissue paper?

There really is a better solution than this...they were invented ages ago and are called duvets. Seriously considering stuffing one in a vacuum bag in my luggage next time I come over here.

Oh...and went on holiday for two and a bit weeks, and thanks to several factors (the comedy bedding included) haven't had a decent night's sleep since about a week before we left home. I'm now just utterly and completely exhausted and really just want to be home...one more day and then the flight home (including 9 hour layover in Atlanta, won't that be fun?) to wait...

I've got to that point of both complete physical and emotional burnout now. Can barely keep my eyes open yet also can't get to sleep. How is that even possible?!?

Blarg.

Nah just abandoning my van without a valid permit for weeks on end, fuck the council

(I do have a permit but the only people that can tell are the traffic wardens, it’s all on them intertubes now based on registration - no physical permit)

Yeah, bollocks to the rain. Put cycle in daughter's Corsa, drove missus to work, dropped Corsa off for recall (quiet at the back, please) then got absolutely soaked riding home.

Ford parts prices ! I am glad I don't own one of their heaps as this is getting beyond a joke now. I was just reminded how much a thermostat cost in another thread at over £160, that now seems reasonable compared to rear brake adjusters on an '06 Transit. 2 brake adjusters 2 springs and 2 levers in a kit (so not even all the springs etc required when overhauling the rear brakes) £184 fucking quid !!!!!!!. The adjusters for the earlier model are available on ebay for a tenner, but with Transits there are so many options I couldn't take the risk of the truck being off the road for a week whilst the wrong parts were sent. Where the hell to they come up with these prices, you used to buy British as the parts were cheaper. Sod that even Renault parts are a bargain after this

It took me a month of fabrication to sort the front panel on my Capri, the cheapest I could find to buy was £600, the exact price I paid for the car.

Today I met the fella who bought my old van off me.

He was driving a Doblo and not my old Jumpy (Citroen Dispatch), I asked about my old van and he said it had died big time.

Apparently the crankshaft had snapped and split the block bad enough for the engine to leap up and dent the bonnet  . I'm not sure how that can happen in that engine bay as most of the engine is miles from the bonnet.

Thankfully he was only doing 50kph when this happened, so no nuns or kittens died.

Then he went on to say he didn't think it was that slow ( I warned him about the DW8's "power") so I recon he'd been thrashing the poor old girl (424,000 on it when I sold it in December)

RIP my old van  :(

Hopefully the garage that px'd him the Doblo for it will lob a new motor in it to give her life again.
