 I think you might, too.

It's not all gloom. Just feels like it most of the time.

Plus the things that make me happy I can't really post about, 'cos it would (maybe) lead to ridicule. I'll risk it: happiest thing that happened this week is Kalie took me to mc D's. Mundane to most, mega exciting to me.

Don't worry man, it's the small things that get you through. I've just been to a five year olds birthday party in one of them play barn type places and sitting with two other dads and talking about cars was a damn pleasant way to pass an evening!

And anyway, I'll be going to McDs tomorrow probably.

Small things like that making us happy is a good thing, it sets us apart and shows we appreciate things in life rather than the yeah its my right so why should I be happy and show thanks type of attitude that the mouth breathers of the world have towards everyone every day.

Treasure the small things, for they are often the most important.

The small things are good.

Anyway, grump time. Wake up you dozy fuckwit bastard drivers, do not drive like you are asleep. It will piss me off and lead to bad things happening to you in my head.

Just an observation, and something I've been wondering about for quite a while.

Why do northerners on this forum tend to refer to London as That there London ?

I can't for the life of me work it out. Is it a joke I've missed somewhere along the way?

Guessing it's something to do with this...

Spotted one ugly fecker of a car. 2008 reg, Mitsubishi thing.

From the rear it looked like the twisted bastard love child of a Smart ForTwo and an Agila. Utterly gomping looking shite box. Vile.

If that was a Colt like:

then you're not far wrong, because the Smart ForFour (bigger one, apparently the same as a lounge) was on the same chassis....

I refer to it as 'London', or 'attitude problem land'.

I nearly got written off twice while driving home from work today by dozy bastards driving down the wrong side of the road because they weren't paying attention to what they were doing. I'm glad my car is narrow otherwise my remains would probably be being delivered to my parents in a jam jar as I type.

Is it too much to ask that the general public pay attention to driving? Just a week ago some dozy bint in a people carrier pulled out of a junction in front of my bright fucking yellow car at point blank range to the point that I stood on the brakes and locked the wheels when I realised that wasn't going to work so I let off and had to swerve into the (thankfully empty) opposite lane. Can't have been more than an inch from taking my front N/S wing off.

I don't consider myself a particularly observant or careful man but I can usually at least avoid driving head on into oncoming traffic...

I've been coming off the m40, going around the off ramp and found some dozy that trying to turn up it at the end by the junction. Took him a few minutes to realise why I was leaning on my horn and calling him a wanker...

Always approach that more gingerly now, not at 60 like I used to now

Fugging weather. I had planned to change the V70's turbo this weekend and it's pissing rain, with more to come tomorrow if the forecast is to be believed. Balls.

Peeled my palm (not a euphemism) yesterday right down to flesh. Cue lots of blood from such a small wound and now it stings like buggery when I try and hold, grip, manipulate or do other things with my hand (no euphemisms here). Plasters won't stick (sweaty palms - no, not a euphemism either) and bandages won't stay in the right place (and make me look like a Keith Lemon tribute).

Grump grump...

I used Tesco blister plasters when I had a similar injury. They are big and very thin so they stick quite well.

See this episode of The Royle Family from 6min30secs onwards. I expect this typifies 'some' northerners thoughts on London. (Only some)

Should have participated in an interclub tournament tomorrow with my kickboxing group.

Was told yesterday that they could not find me a suitable opponent.

Gutted as I was really looking forward to it.

Volvo has developed a clonking noise from the rear suspension,Looked on the Volvo forum,& it said it was likely to be the upper shock absorber mount coming apart,so I pulled one off the spares car.Pulled the trim away so I could fit the replacement,& this is what I found

The bolts have both snapped off flush,no idea how that happened  :? .I haven't got anything to get them out with,so a mate is going to have a look next week.

I'm probably being immensely stupid, but shouldn't the black bit be mounted underneath the blue bit? Otherwise they're being pulled apart every time you hit a bump?

Posted

No,that's how it's meant to be.I'm guessing maybe the bolts became loose & there was enough up & down movement to break them.

can someone turn off the wind in wales for tomorrow please

Problem is I live in a second floor flat so can't get any power to where the car is.

I rarely see farmers driving tractors here without some kind of phone, probably with JCB/John Deere/Fordson Major branding, wedged between their cabbage ears and ham hands.

Normal rules don't apply to farmers, especially when it comes to paying if you work for them. Some are OK, some think they have  special status and moan endlessly whilst looking down on you from their their new Range-Rover.

Why dont you pop round to Cavcraft and try to claim on their comprehensive guarantee? That should give you the action you are looking for*
