Poxy Tapatalk again...it's January 17th, I think you can safely issue an update removing the "Happy Holidays" welcome screen without offending anyone.

Lazy feckers.

I have just seen someone take a photo of themself with there phone on stick  I have google its and it is a selfie stick. What the actual feck as the world come to

I'll own up to having a selfie stick, but I only use it to get some interesting GoPro footage when sailing, and never near the Taj Mahal (or any other curry house)

I thought fibreglass could be used structurally, I've seen it in chassis rails and sills

Ah, but a GoPro pole is a quality bit of kit, a selfie stick is a cheapo POS. The Aresnal and Spurs grounds banned them!

The Xantia still isn't a BX.  I want a BX.  Why don't I have a BX?  Waaa.

Also, I appear to have contracted proper flu rather than just* manflu.  This will not do.

Screenwash - I'm a big fan of Lidl super strong stuff, 5l for a fiver and it's good for -20 or whatever. I haven't seen this in stock for ages so have run out :(

I've just come back from the supermarket (everywhere else is shut at this time) and the best I could find in Sainsburys & Morrisons was good for -5C, what use is that in winter? plus it was £2 for 1 litre, sod that I'll stick some meths in washing up liquid or something.

^ yep I hear that. I've tried looking in Italy for Innocenti regent front wings for my allegro. Sadly the Italians thought less of it than we did and didn't buy any.

The AllAggro was built for a while at Seneffe in Belgium, and sold reasonably well* there.

M'coli, do you copy, over? Just in case BX love isn't blossoming.

Sony head units. All the features, but with a front panel designed entirely by marketing wankers.

I have several. I bought one, it was a disappointment and is now in a drawer.

This one came in the latest car and it really infuriates me.

It's not that offensive to look at, but the buttons are impossibly small and laid out terribly.

See that massive button with "ZAP" written on it? that makes it go into some mode where it plays ten seconds of every song. I have no idea why it does this or what the aim is, but it takes about 20 seconds of random button mashing to get out of.

See the button below right of the volume knob? The easiest one to find. A single click of it makes the backlighting constantly cycle colours like a fucking fibre optic christmas tree. It takes 12 button presses to put it back to red.

Next track and previous track are really hard to press without knocking "source" or "ZAP" because they are recessed and a stupid shape. You have to hit them right in the middle or they bind up and don't work.

It beeps every time I turn the ignition off. You can't stop it doing this.

Every time you disconnect the battery it goes into demo mode where it lights up blue, beeps every time you press a button and flashes lights and stuff constantly. You have to turn every single stupid setting back off manually, individually.

When adjusting the volume, if you go over a bump and accidentally press the knob it puts you into a sound menu. It has something called EQ7 which basically makes everything sound shit and distort. I accidentally turned it on and now I can't work out how to turn it off, just how to change the EQ7 mode.

The technology behind it is great, but it's just designed to look good in a shop display with absolutely fuck all thought given to actually having to use it every day.

I have one of these similar, a Sony X-Plod I believe; retrieved in as new condition, with original box / instructions from an Audi 80 estate. The thing is so difficult to use, esp whilst driving, that it's been back in the box for around four years now. Technology is great, and I'm fully tooled up with digital devices, but radios should be simple, with minimalist tuning and on/off switches, just like on those Pure digital radios, which are easy to use and FAB. Must see if I can find something similar for car use.

Last night I heard shouting outside, so I looked out of the window to see what was going on, a lad was trying to stop a pissed up girl from running in front of cars driving up and down the road, he stopped her from getting a serious injury, so I popped out to see if he needed help, she was really going for it he was struggling, he declined as he didn't want to cause fuss, a neighbour from down the road popped up to see if my car had been damaged as she had started kicking cars down the road his had been hit so he rung the police and they arrested her, he told me that the lad who was trying to protect her from the traffic was her boyfriend and has been locked up as well because when the police got there she claimed assault and because she had a red mark on her from where he restrained her they cuffed him, the neighbour fought his corner instantly as he saw what the lad was doing but they didn't listen, he asked me if I'd seen what went on if they needed a statement because he felt sorry for the lad, what is this world coming to he may as well have let her get run over

Go to Plod.  Make statement on lad's behalf.  Be prepared to stand up for him as necessary.

Just had some bad news on t'phone. I'm too far away to be any real help,

Seems a neighbours Staffie escaped, and has torn my (eldest) son's pedigree cat to shreds, very publicly, in the middle of the damn road. No one could get him off. Apparently a ghastly sight.

My daughter in law, 8 months very pregnant, is in bits since it had been the love of her ( previous) life.

Old Bill. Not interested. At all. Actually rude on the phone and refused to put Sergeant on the line

RSPCA. Just want to prosecute. Almost gleefull.

Oh dear. It's gonna be a sad, sad business, with no winners. Fills me with dread, frankly

chaseracer i have said to the neighbour to send the investigating officer my way for a statement, he told the plod last night that he wants to make a statement in the lads favour, i am more than happy to stand up for this lad

Really sorry to hear that Nigel. That must have been horrific.

Like it or not some dogs just aren't safe .

Ta 2smoke,

Somehow, I doubt it's a Staffie , that attitude just isn't in their nature.

Near identical Pitbull is though....

I'm gonna cause grief here I expect but I hope it gets put to sleep . while it may not be the dogs fault due to upbringing etc and it won't bring the cat back but next time it could be a kid!

Don't doubt this for a moment, and I'm sorry if my earlier comment suggested otherwise - it wasn't intentional

I have a staffy. Softest dog I have owned. Runs and hides from cats. All staffies I know are soft but also protective of their master or mistress. I don't condone what happened but I also don't believe the dog should lose its life for one incident. Now if it was a vicious dog as all dogs can be regardless of breed and it has previous form then may be an option. Questions need asking though like how did it escape.

Posted

Dogs escape quite a bit, for various reasons. If you had a dog that couldn't be trusted off it's lead (because of things like this) then maybe you shouldn't have that dog, or should at the very least make bloody sure it didn't get out.

There's some sort of pitbull type one round here that's frequently running up/down busy roads and taking an interest in other dogs etc. It seems quite ok to be fair, but should it ever attack our dog it'll find a size twelve boot up it's council, hopefully just as a bus or lorry is passing.

And the cat deserved it because ?

If no one could stop the dog doing it them its not controlable .

bloody hell mr bickle that is a sad end for the cat indeed, im really glad that all my dog wants to do is play and love cats i would be mortified if anything like that ever happened, shes really funny because if they run she will give chase, i reckon thats more the natural instinct to give chase though, but if they are there she is playful with them and tries to lick them

This.

It's down to the owner to control their dog. If it's the sort of dog that's likely to do this and the owner can't manage to keep it confined then they shouldn't have had it in the first place.

Sorry to hear that, Nigel.

Aye, ta. I'm a dog person ( recently lost all 3 to old age in a very short timescale) & have always mistrusted women with cats, especially soft cuddly ones. Baby substitutes, in my humble opine.

However, Kate is a good sort, or mechanically more literate/ capable than my blessed eldest, and she just loves camper vans. Kinda thinking about giving them the Barkas...

Anyway, Twas her cat, a silly little thing, couldn't frighten a moth. Seems this dog just flew at it no reason, but wasn't good enough to kill it quickly. 3rd hand reports aren't nice..

Poor girl is now in hospital ,sedated I'm guessing , probably worried that she's going to drop prematurely. She is pretty big, right now . Really hope she can get through it ok. My son, bless him, just wanted to kill someone, thankfully the other kids got to him in time, to prevent a disaster turning into a catastrophe.

Bureaucracy loves this kind of shit, but no one benefits. It's all sad, just sad.

I don't know the dog, but I do know Staffies. Doesn't fit. I think a Dna test on the dog might unearth it's true heritage. I don't want it put down ,if it can be saved, but its not my decision. I do think it needs imprisoning in a garden, with a muzzle when out. If it stays uncontrollable, the needle beckons.

Blimey that's awful about the cat, my deepest sympathies. I love cats as well as mutts (but prefer mutts) and have always had them, both of my dogs were brought up with cats and are fine with them... in the house. If they see a cat outside they chase it - it's in their nature. I don't think either of them would hurt a cat outside, but it is a worry. I think most dogs will chase cats but I also think, most dogs won't hurt a cat even if they did catch one... but I could be wrong.

Obviously the one in question should not have been allowed to escape and what it did is truly appalling (I have no idea what I'd do with mine if they did such a thing) but it's the bloody owner now that needs a kick in the cunt as well as the dog.

Old bill are never interested in the fate of cats, it used to be in the highway code that if you ran over a dog - inform the police, cat - no need to inform. I have no idea why they are classed lower legally, maybe they are considered 'wild'?

Not quite the same (and I'm sure I've told this one before) several years ago I went for a boys evening at a mates house while the women were out doing something or other.

He had an English Bull Terrier. A bloody ugly thing but friendly enough usually. Last time I had been I crashed on the sofa with it at my feet, and had a playful tug of war with my shoes when it was time to go.

This time I went on my bike and had my leathers on.

As I went in the house (crash helmet off) it started to snarl, which we thought a bit odd.

I took one step into the lounge and the bloody thing went for me! It wasn't pissing about either - it bit through the leathers.

The dog got a kick and was locked in the other room where it barked and yelped and snarled.

After half an hour they let it back in on a lead and it tried again.

I went home.

When I went back a few weeks later the dog went so nuts it got locked in the shed. After that I didn't visit again, shame as we used to be good mates and the bloody dog never attacked anyone else.

Nasty unpredictable savage bastard thing. Fortunately no longer with us.
