That's why I don't give my phone number to Gumtree users, what's the point? All they will do is ask you a serious of increasingly stupid/pointless question and not buy your item anyhow.

Yodel!

Is it too difficult to employ drivers who can read? They have two of my parcels at the moment, claiming they couldn't get access to work. The big sign on the gate says " to gain access in work hours, drive up to white line and wait for gates to open". They're rapidly replacing ups in the numpty delivery driver stakes.

Parcelfarce are the worst down my way. Turned round in my yard where my name is displayed on a number plate on the gate yet took the parcel to the local po and claimed they couldn't find me

Royal Mail depot had one guy on the parcel collections bit this morning. Quite busy but the queue moved fairly well and after ten minutes I was second.

The guy in front produced about 25 "sorry you weren't in" cards, it took ages for the guy to find them, one was too big for the counter so he had to go around the back so I was standing there for about 25 minutes waiting for the postie to sort the man out.

At this time I got annoyed to see positive having a chat with the customer outside. The queue was now 50 deep and the approach road was jammed up with folk waiting to get into the car park. Which meant that when it came to me leaving I wouldn't be able to get out of the car park as it was jammed up with folk queuing to get in!

Eventually I got my parcel. It was a Graze box, exactly the sort of parcel they post me every week and deliver every week no problem. Apparently my letter box is too small. I told the guy it must have shrunk in the cold as they have managed perfectly well for two years up to now. Very annoying. Overall exercise cost me an hour of my day for no bloody reason. And the snack selection this week was shit just to add insult to injury

Yeah it's a minor thing compared to someone living in Kobane or diagnosed with something terminal but it did piss me right off.

My next door neighbour has just called asking if I had her parcel. I didn't. Dpd has apparently delivered it somewhere on the park, and someone has signed for it (probable not prince Edward, but you never know!) so she is going door to door to find it.

Why are people who work at tills so slow - with the exception of Aldi?

They have two speeds - slow and stop.

And to think, we used to have a thing called time and motion.

Posted

In a similar vein, why do Morrisons never, ever, have enough tills open? I've been to branches throughout the country and they're always the same - loads of staff bumbling about behind empty deli/meat counters or shuffling empty boxes, while epic queues form at the checkouts.

Lot of courier/parcel based grumps today. Not surprising as getting a parcel delivered is a fucking nightmare, I hate it, all these courier companies are equally wank. You'd think one of them would have found a way to relisbly get a parcel to YOU by now, but sadly not.

Posted

Why waste time/fuel/profits by trying to do something as potentially brain-challenging as "actually delivering the fecking parcel" when sending a bloke round on piecework to deliver WYWO cards will result in DIY own-cost self-delivery ("collection") by the punter?

For medical reasons I have to do 99% of my shopping at Aldi and yes, the checkout staff are like greased lightening and very pleasant to boot.

As icing on the cake a couple of them are little beauties :)

The AS facebook page ... why do I look at it? loads of pics of moderns and someone claiming parts for an 80's VW are hard to find ... wtf?

Just as I was about to go on a rant I saw a picture of a Sherpa on there, which calmed me down slightly.

Couriers - Yodel actually stopped taking new bookings for a while this week as they were too busy and 'had run out of trucks'. Similarly DPD are seemingly on a go slow as are one or two others.

Yodels lack of trucks doesn't appear to have changed their delivery service though - got home today and a guy in an 02 plate Focus screams up the road behind me, runs down next doors drive, bangs on the door like the house is on fire, waits a minute then comes round here wanting me to sign for next doors Amazon delivery. Hey Yodel, heres a tip - instead of furiously watching social media for the many negative comments you deservedly get, try having drivers that are at least a bit more professional and don't look and drive like escaped lunatics who are moonlighting delivering your parcels in between pizza deliveries. Just a thought.

Exactly, had a yodel delivery yesterday by 2 scroats in a royally fucked 206 hatch rammed full of parcels

Not a good company image

I've got a new style of ebay mong. The 'buy something close to what you want' fuckwit. Like today I've got my big sack of parcels, I'm just about to book it in and sod off to the sorting office, and mong says I bought 10mm dice and I want 16mm. So search thru all the sack of shit to find his parcel.

Was same yesterday, I want 40 dice, but you're out of stock so I bought 35, send me 40. FFS! What do you think out of stock means?

Kidderminster 4x4 drivers!  If you must luzz down the A456 like a [YOUR CHOICE OF REPRODUCTIVE ORGAN HERE], forcing overtakes where there is no space to do so safely, at least try not to do it in a metallic-poo-brown Volvo XC90 with your company name plastered all over it!

Especially when that company is called A1 Grooming...

Question Time tonight will be a total twat-fest.

Dimbletit, Farage and Russell 'Ferret Face' Brand all on the same programme.

All they need now Is Diane Abbot and my seethe will be final.

Morrison's never have enough people on the till because they are running out of money due to not having a strategy after they kicked old Ken out.

The Co-op are also on their arse, buying Somerfield to create one super shit supermarket chain out of two marginally shit supermarket chains was not a good idea and probably signed off by that fat bloke when high on coke and dreaming of rent boys.

Still at least Tesco are struggling, pride before a fall and all that.

The Range Rover's starter motor has died. Ceased working. Cashed in its chips. Kaputt. A new one is about £200.00, which is wonderful* news.

The law of shite karma is in operation - a service for the Saab and bits for the Lolvo (improvements) lead to borkage for the RR.

Tesco are the one company I feel no sympathy for whatsoever. I'm not suggesting that Morrisons, Co-op et al are squeaky clean models of virtue, but Tesco have gone way beyond the call of duty in being utter and total cnuts to all and sundry. Unfortunately, I fear they're too big to actually go bust, but apart from the associated job losses, I will take great delight in every calamity that befalls them.

EE.

Killing off Orange Wednesdays, because of people watching films on tablets, Netflix etc.

And, in the process, killing off the cinema in general.

As if they weren't shit enough already, they've now got fuck all going for them.

OK, I tried to resist but failed. Is this gate to keep cattle in? Otherwise why have the gate/ignore gate sign combo?

When's that? I use it a fair bit.

Don't get me started on that !

It serves no purpose at all, apart from keeping pedestrians out of the business park. No one apart from the owners like it, but they seem to think it adds security. At the weekend and out of business hours you need the code.

Did anyone read Sam Glovers thing in Practical Classics about his P38 Range Rover? I think he took it on, on a "all the rumours can't be true" basis. But if ticked everybox on the P38 melt down index.

I've been tempted by these myself even given everything i've read about them. Not any more!

I feel sorry for tesco staff - its those that will suffer.

I wish I could go back to 1974 etc....

Morrisons are shit. I like Tesco though because they pissed farmers off a couple of years ago.

Tesco will be fine even if they did cook the books. Folk like buying shite and tesco sell loads of that infact they'll even deliver it to your door.
