The grumpy thread

I have just come home to find a letter from Norwich magistrates' court saying that I owe them £305 in fines.  Thing is, I have absolutely no idea what this is for.  I've never received a court summons or any other notice regarding a fine.  Also, they've spelled my name wrong, although they have my date of birth correct.

What the fuck is going on?

Send them a letter back, ostensibly written by someone else altogether, saying you've already paid this.

I have man flu and therefore am dying. I just managed to drag myself to the co-op to buy some supplies, but they had nothing I wanted, so I just bought ice cream.

Today has been spent sitting onthe sofa feeling rough and miserable, I predict the same for tomorrow.

Feeling the sad / what's the point of it all?

Been destroying old wardrobes which means taking the shite out of them first. Ma going on a bin everything purge, some of the stuff is over 50 years old n never been out of the box. Set me off thinking when I shuffle off nobody will care, n there will be nothing left to show I was ever here. Deep thought is bad for me.

Many, many dice valve caps?

Send them a letter back saying you entirely dispute the whole thing, but if they consider this and find against you that you're more than happy to cow punch them in the fanny.

In the unlikely* event they dispute this, tell them you read it on the internet, so therefore it must be true.

Removed the headlights and lenses, polished the reflectors and cleaned the glass to see if I could improve the woeful light output.

In doing so I cut my knuckles to buggery, discovered evidence of a previous front end knock and slightly bodged repair, with big blobs of weld and a not quite right headlight bracket, leading to a droopy headlight, plus I also managed to break for the second time a few plastic bits around the air intake and radiator that had been previously broken and patched up with epoxy cement type glue. Oh yeah and the other half has decided she should defer her last year at uni as she's skint, unhappy and struggling with workload and finding suitable part time work too, and also that she's not interested and doesn't want to see me any more, bye!

And the headlights are still pish. Ordered osram nightbreaker bulbs off ebay as mentioned elsewhere, will see if that makes a difference. Think those will be the last pair of headlamps I'll be rubbing for a while.

Well it's going to be cheaper this Christmas then.... and you can look at the Cars/Girls page without hiding it.....

Twats at toy fairs who ask 'What's the least...?'.

They can't even be bothered using a complete sentence and want the toy for a ridiculously low cost.

Citalopram withdrawl. Head's allover.

Can do my job. Anything else in addition = complete brain malfunction. Like today when a friend rang and asked about cars.

Friday gone was a catastrophe, new run, traffic was bad, parking was very difficult. Started seeing red, then abandoned van outside a drop and hazards wouldn't work = van got a fucking kicking. Oh man. I'm more prepared this week.

I'm trying very very hard to remain calm.

A month of this, vigorous running to speed up process, and nobody asking me questions and I may come out of this and get back on top of the work where I was a few weeks ago and decided i was fixed.

Oh god and brain zaps.

Ps my phones a cunt and I cant be arsed fucking about trying to correct it

Considering making a card that says, 'currently suffering withdrawl from strong anti psychotic medication please give space' incase I flip out again.

My 1998 E36 318is is leaking oil from the rear diff, I did notice some whining when on the motorway last week, they only take 1L of oil so im sure it could be low by now. Really don't have much spare cash at the moment to pay a garage to sort it, which I know is going to be £100+ for the new seal, oil and labour etc..

Thing is its probably one of most straight, genuine and unmonged E36 BMW's out there, so maybe I should spend some money on it.

Hey Sambasssssss man, take care of yourself, if you're in a tangle then don't worry about work, get yourself right. People ring in sick for much less like a fuckin cold or a hangover. Just because you can physically walk and stuff doesn't mean you're not worthy of a few days relaxing, perhaps some softcore pottering round shite to keep yourself busy and in a good place.

Posted

Hey, Sambas, you haven't gone cold turkey have you? With that stuff you've got to wind it down very slowly otherwise you'll get brain fry.

THIS. In a big way.

Don't want to sound all nancy and shit, but there's no shame in being on something like Citalopram long term, especially if it works, which it sounds like it was. Good call about having a few days off work, too, just so you don't blow your tits with someone and end up in the shit yourself.

Look after yourself. There's only one you.

+1.  The mind takes a long time to heal from significant trauma, and recovery rarely happens on a smooth upward curve.  It's bumpy, with occasional setbacks.  Don't rush it - the most important thing is to be as well as you can be, and that takes time.

Definitely! I've been on that stuff for a long time. Reduce doseage gradually before stopping altogether. Seriously, withdrawal does bloody funny things to your head.

I hadn't seen that, but on some forums you have to have 50 posts or something before you can 'trade.'  Whether that's a good or a bad thing is a matter of opinion I reckon, and by doing so might put genuine people off with interesting/cheap old rammel to sell.
