I'm loosing my car storage in Worcester. Need to get them moved in the next month or so.

Fuck.

My pay cut is from the commission I earn (I work in sales) I could quite often double my base wage (about £900 per month from working 5 days a week) with commission but it looks like that won't be happening again.

I think commission can be fucked about with all an employer wishes without any comeback.

I will be leaving very very soon to do some traveling, initially to Australia. I was planning on going at the end of December/ early January but I may well bring this plan forward

Sadly yes. Every commission plan I've worked with (except my current one) has a clause hidden somewhere in it stating that all commission payments are discretionary.

What do you sell?

Yeah, commission is a bugger. I used to double my earnings that way, others I worked with did even better. They threatened to reduce it a few times and it all kicked off until we realised that we were close to going bust - quarter of a million quid bonus every month they were paying out.

Sounds like your mind is made phillybusted.... Enjoy your travels!!

I'm in a similar field (Sales Director in enterprise software) - If you decide against the travels I'll keep an eye out for suitable vacancies

Constructive dismissal?

Are there any unions you could have a word with as that sounds either amazingly stupid of your employer, or deliberately engineered to get you to walk.

The second one. It has the whiff of looting for a booting.

Thanks, I'm currently based in Devon, but am looking to change then when possible and I am very good at what I do, even if that does sound horrifically boastful. I regularly almost double my target and rake in as much as two other colleagues. My experience is the hardware end of things, but I can learn anything new extremely quickly.

Traveling is 90% confirmed now, but I will be looking again once I am back.

dugong and Pillock, I'm pretty sure this isn't deliberately done to make me (or anyone else) walk. It seems to be another money saving exercise, which they have been awfully fond of these past 9-12 months, each of which have generally cost more than they've saved. I suspect that this will be no different and both me and my full time colleague are now looking to get out as quickly as possible, leaving the guy who works three days a week as the only tenured team member. If this sales team goes down the pan then they will have lost a 1 million quid of sales per year for the sake of about £5,000 on our combined wages over the course of a year.

Hop over to NZ while you're there, Philibusmoid. If you fancy doing a cam belt and water pump change on either the 205 or the Visa, you can borrow said car to tour around as long as you like!

That sounds like the best offer of all time. I might just have to take you up on that.

I suspect that after so long I'll be getting withdrawal symptoms from not working on shit old cars, so I may even feel the need to change the belts on both if the parts are there.

I need to get chain mail gloves for when I'm using the angle grinder with 1mm cutting discs.

I decided to escape work stress by doing some spannering after tea. Lying under the 88" cutting an exhaust bolt, holding the bracket in my left hand and the grinder in my right when the inevitable slip happened. Those 1mm discs find little resistance in flesh. When I plucked up the courage to look, it wasn't too bad. An inch long and quite deep but I've done much worse to myself. post-5582-0-95991800-1413845037_thumb.jpg

The grump is about what happened next. I cleaned it under the tap and gave the wife and shout to get the paper stitches. While she was seeing to it, I felt myself get woozy. I thought there's no way I'm going to faint over this wee cut but I almost fell over. Had to grab on or I would have gone down. What a wuss!

Feck knows, maybe my blood sugar was low.

^ I wouldn't worry about feeling like a wuss drum, I've done the same in similar(ish) circumstances. Was boiling one of those sponge puddings in a can years ago when I was in a rental cottage on holiday and used their silly tin opener, which took off the entire rim of the can, rather than just the circular part inside. Inevitably, at the point where you had to push it through the can from one side to the other, my left thumb was very much worse for wear and I went even more pasty white than usual. Just be careful when using a hand brake, is all I can advise....

Yeah, I'd probably look to source parts in the UK and get them sent out with you if possible, as there's a bit of price discrepancy/availability issue over here, or at least there was when I was less informed a few years ago. Got plenty of camping equipment and NZ is really geared up for that type of holiday and there are some stunning sights to be seen and roads to be driven. And plenty of tat to spot, too.

In fact, if you would like to try a spot of welding, I could even lend you an estate to sleep in!

It's about 6.30am, I've had two hours sleep, Greggs isn't open yet and the bus is rocking so much in the storm that I can't get a fucking kip.

And I'm in Helensburgh.

And it's still fucking raining.

Still no sign of my bike, but the bastard/s are going to have to ride it at some point and there's a few people looking for it.

Local bike shops and the police have been very helpful too, so who knows it might just turn up. Hopefully before I have to spunk a small fortune on its replacement.

You were right to let it through Dave. What it lacks in content it makes up for in brown.

Hope you find it, I had £200 worth of bike taken from my back garden and it was really annoying, frustrating, upsetting...

Also hope you find the thief, sounds like a bit of reeducation is in order.

A tree fell down an hour ago in our work car park, right onto out new chaps (started Friday)s 55 plate disastra that he quite likes.

Damage seems to be limited to heavy scratches and a fee small dents, currently awaiting a bloke with a chainsaw to remove the tree that's currently lent up the side of his car.

Feel a bit sorry for him, if it was the ZX (or my colleagues van) we would just have reversed out and polish out the scratches...

What made me laugh was parked behind him is a 64 plate Audi, how I wish the tree had hit that rather than poor newbies car!

You should put that in this thread: http://autoshite.com/topic/18414-modern-vauxhall-you-know-the-rest/

They will go absolutely rabid when they hear that.

Did something similar cycling on my paper round. I'd finished and was on my way home, when I think I leaned over too far trying to be a cheeky teenager and reach for something. Gashed my knee up a bit, nothing too bad in the context, but went woozy, started seeing primary colours only, and then monochrome, so Mum ordered a taxi to take me to A&E. No Fault Found, so ordered to rest. It was an inauspicious date however, it was Sept 11 2001.

The woozy feeling has never happened before or since though, so I'd put it down to blood sugar levels too.

Three cars parked badly opposite my garage this afternoon. One of these days I'm going to scrape the Maestro on the garage door frame, such is the angle I have to reverse in at to avoid these idiots. Utterly fed up with it.

On the plus side, I managed to buy a set of those giffer reflective door edge protector things for it. They look pretty good and while fitting them I noticed some more paint chipped off the very edge, so I must have caught it on the garage wall when opening the door. Looks like I haven't fitted them a moment too soon then!

They climbed a total of probably 20 foot to get it, nothing else (although not a great deal else about) taken. I think I've narrowed it down to one almost certain, two or thee possibles. I can't prove a thing, but if/when I do just imagine a Facebook 'If I were you, I'd....' type level of rage.

It's stupid really, but I actually can't look at the pictures of it now as I get mad thinking about it and how I wished it was here. To highlight the levels of my sadness I used to like going to work on it, just so I could sit there and look at it, as well of course as riding the thing. Also, I'd have been less arsed if they'd taken one of my cars, but then you've seen how shit they are!

I've been eyeing up replacements today but still don't want to think about never getting mine back, worked my bollocks off to get it and was like the proverbial kid in the sweet shop when I got it, I think it was my fist ever brand new bike.

Nearly ended up with a banana car today.  7.5 tonne lorry driver on his phone was completely oblivious to the Xantia, since it's such a small* discrete* vehicle when the lights are on and I'm leaning on the horn to make him aware that I'm there while also putting my foot down to get out of the way.  Not an experience I wanted, I'm just thankful no meeting of vehicles happened, but it's been illegal and stuff for AGES and it's bloody stupid to be piloting any vehicle while holding a phone to your ear.
