Went to look at boot sale at Dunton this morning, traffic at virtual standstill for 5 miles on a127 eastbound because some twat had hit barrier on tother side of dual carriageway & traffic my side was passing it at 5mph so they could gawp & take pics of them being cut out of car..

Traffic westbound was static for more than 2 hours almost back to Rayleigh weir.

A car boot sale on a weekday? I thought they only happened at the weekend.

Went out with a mate in his Saxo VTR that is finally back on the road and we had to pull over into a little offshoot in front of some wasteland as we thought it had a flat tyre. Stopped for no more than 30 seconds (more on this below) and noticed in that period an "ANPR" van had parked opposite, thought nothing of it at the time.

Wrong, two days ago he got a "Parking Charge Notice" from Vehicle Control Services for £60 (if he pays within 14 days, or £100 if not). This bothers me on many levels, the first being where we stopped wasn't a car park or even a yellow lined zone and while they claim it is sign posted clearly around the place, I revisited it a few days later and there is certainly not any signs and there is evidence of one removed some time ago. Apparently now you can't just ignore them, you have to appeal them which is frustrating given that the 30 second stop was purely for safety reasons more than anything else and if we want to be technical, the van itself broke the supposed laws they are trying to enforce.

All in all, well done to "Vehicle Control Services" the biggest twats in that area who have a monopoly on this bit and Liverpool Airport.

The most badly damaged vehicle in the fire last week has just been lifted for scrap... pity it lasted this long only to perish in the fire.

New shape Kia Sportage, Nissan Puke and Cashcow, has anyone ever seen one of these being driven well? I reckon it's just the matter of it being against the law that stops them being used to ram everyone else off the road. Saw a 14 plate Cashcow pull out in front of someone (with far too little time) look like it was about to tip over, they were going that fast.

Lending tools/equipment to neighbours has been a recent cause of grumpiness.

Saw the elderly bloke across the road changing the brake pads with the car jacked up on the scissor jack, no other support, so went over and offered him the use of a trolley jack and axle stands. Was three months ago now and no sign of getting the stuff back. Only rarely see him out and about and he always smiles/waves. Pretty annoying having to go and ask for my gear back really....

Lent my chainsaw to the fella next door who was failing (with a hand saw) to saw up a tree stump he had dug up.

All smiles and gratitude, but used up all the petrol, chainlube and brought it back empty of all fluids with a totally shagged chain. Having just fitted a new chain it was a tad annoying..... Looked like he had hit nails or similar.

He does cut my grass when I am away so reluctant to confront him as such. But even so.

Grump.

I hate lending or borrowing tools . Someone always feels guilty or hard done by . It's a lose lose situation.

Yes.

I've got a Puke as a hire car. It had twelve miles on when I got it!

I'd like to think I'm not suddenly driving like a bellend though. To be fair with a 1.5dci I'm avoiding pulling out in front of glaciers let alone other cars.

In further developments, it appears they do sell teh ATE calipers but dont list them for my car. with luck I can get them swapped over.

wish me luck

Melted Dodge/Renault bus makes me sad.

It had been restored around ten years ago but was in open storage latterly; unusually it was still fitted with it's original Perkins Phaser 90/Chrysler Torqflite drivetrain. It was the last survivor of 55 (22 Dodge, 33 Renault) S56s new to Clydeside Scottish in 1986/87 and was believed to have been the last survivor of over 120 50-Series operated by the company between 1985 and 2000. Did well considering their planned shelf life was only three years, but sad all the same.

Melted Dodge makes me sad too :(

It was looking a bit sorry for itself before but didn't deserve to be barbequed in that fire.

At least it was a useful fire break.

I feel like my complaint of my new front number plate falling off today is pretty minor compared to melted bus.

Hopefully 'our' Bob is slowly but surely on the mend now.

In addition to getting 2x RS calipers for the e30, UPS have now delivered over £100 quids worth of parts to the wrong address in a different town...

at this rate I'll be able to wash my car at the weekend.

Now waiting for them to call back with details of whether they can retrieve the parcel.

Just bought a hygena ottoman bed from argos.

The biggest pile of shite I have ever purchased.

Screws missing, threaded inserts in the timber sections missing, birdshit welds that look like they have been layed by a bricklayer than have had to be ground and filed so it could fit together.

Alarms bells were ringing when I spied "MADE IN ROMANIA" on the box. No doubt knocked up by some peasant in in a lean to using old car batteries for power and being paid in cabbages and beetroots.

Am I angry ? You bet I am.

When my sister was in hospital for nearly six months, with some other long-term stayers, they used to order food to be delivered from the local Chinese, Indian, Pizza place, etc. to supplement the hospital rations.
