2003 1.6 Life. green, 70k miles, year's MOT. Err, manual. £1200. There was a couple of wee scratches on it, but they've polished out fine. I'll chuck some pics up L8RZ.

Hmm. Details please.

*It's bound to be more than I have but it doesn't harm to find out.

I have learned to stop asking 'how much' for any old car I desire.

Either I can't afford it, or I can almost afford it.

Either way I can't actually afford it.

Bugger.

There are experts on the Idle Foundation who are well versed in dealing with those characters. Shout if any advice is required.

Thank you kindly. Going to pop into the Aspergers Initiatives place next week and find out what help they can offer. The plus side to having AS in the Lothians is the support is actually bloody good but will shout of there's anything left unanswered. Sat through the interview with someone else once and it's about as an unpleasant an experience as it's possible to have without actually being physically injured.

Tax it and lob a bit more on top to recoup some of the cost. These are (mostly) mingebag people's cars, I almost guarantee it'll end up on a council estate with myriad scratches, McDonalds wrappers and crayons all over the seats and pound shop wheeltrims. The owner will be a fat tattooed simpleton* who drives over speed bumps at 82mph. But tax is what they'll want.

Sounds like good advice. Cheers Billy.

It's ok, I based it on me.

Fuck sakes! Went to a scrappy today in Sussex. Had a great day and came away with a fair few bits including a wiper motor for the Micra, I also picked up a Nissan documentation wallet out of a Micra thinking that it would contain the owners manual. Did it? Did it fuck. It had everything else but the fucking manual.  All the ones on e "for lazy bastards" Bay are £15+ for a book. Fuck that, I reckon a visit to another scrappy is on the list.

Not only did I forget that, I also forgot a rare Arabic folder and owners manual for a Honda Accord which I found in a seemingly imported Honda Accord.

Exhaust is blowing very heavily on the xm now, might be forced to get under and have a look or something!

What's Atos? It sounds horrible!

Atos are the people who conduct interviews to see if people who are on the sick should be allowed to stay on.  Unfortunately there's a number of issues with them; amongst other things, the interviews often seem to be carried out by completely unqualified staff who wouldn't know a disability if it jumped up and bit them in the bollocks, and also they [allegedly] get a substantial bonus from the DWP for each person they sign off the sick, so the interviews are unlikely to be entirely objective as they'll be looking for excuses.

Like so many initiatives this government has had over the last few years, the basic premise is fine (getting benefit cheats / fat scroungers off the dole and into work), but the execution is lamentable.

Sold my merc dizzler this morning to one of our eastern european friends, who inevitably, after agreeing a price over the phone tried to haggle me down by £50, I told him to fuck off, so he then tried by £20, I told him to fuck right off.

I got my asking price in the end but why do this??? it really boils my piss.

Private Eye were ripping into those ATOS wankers a few years ago, then Panorama got a hold of it as well. The whole organisation of it reeks to high Heaven.

As Wuvvum said, it's a good idea to try and get folks back to work but the way the government are going about it is appalling.

My mother is just about knackered as far as working - she's got fairly complex brainy spiney type issues, ATOS are wanting to interview her so she's slogged her way into sheffield a few times only for them to not have anyone qualified to talk to her when she gets there. Despite being genuinely quite poorly, she's quite rightly very nervous that they are just going to say she's perfectly fine to work. Dozens of actual qualified doctors have said she is far from it, but what can you do? ATOS are driven by targets so it's totally in their own interest to say that everybody is perfectly fine and hope they don't appeal, there's no incentive for them to be reasonable.

42% of appeals are successful, which when you factor in the amount of people that are genuinely lazy scamming bastards pretty much shows you that they are denying everyone who can just about walk.

I've just had to Google ATOS. I can't help but wonder if it's in some small way driven by their decision to shut Remploy, as they'd promised that the workers would all get work afterwards, yet something like less than 6% of them ever did. Also as it's target driven it's never going to be fairly worked as you say, Cobblers.

I still maintain this shower of shit running the country are still trying to get everyone to believe that anyone out of work is there by choice and is a lazy, sponging bastard and there's nothing wrong with them.

Posted

Cobblers, if they are doing that to your mother then surely there are grounds to formally request a home assessment or like. You had the option of this a few years ago. ATOS'sers as they are more widely known.

As of yesterday, I'm now 45. No doubt I now have to tick the old bastards box when form filling.

By now I was supposed to have

- scored a goal for Scotland in the World Cup final

- owned an Aston Martin

- had intimate relations with Jennifer Aniston

- invented something that makes me a fortune

Oh well, at least I've got some old shite to play with.

Well, you can't really take all the blame for the first one not happening, can you? And you still have plenty of time left to achieve the fourth one, which in turn will allow you to tick off number two.

Number three could be tricky, but I'm sure a combination of determination, stalking, rusty transit vans and rohypnol will eventually pay off.

I'm 50 next month. By now I was supposed to have

- scored a goal against Scotland in the World Cup final
- owned an Aston Martin
- not had intimate relations with Jennifer Aniston
- not invented something that makes me a fortune

I've achieved two of those though, can you guess which?

^^ what is achieved in dreams does not count Billy. Sad but it just doesn't. How many bikes could you get in an Aston Martin anyway and who'd want to play for Scotland.

Suffering the final hangover of the holidays today. Went out for a few quiet pints and woke up on the couch at 6am with no trousers on.

I've been blocked from Facebook for 12 hours over something really minor, why can't FB remove videos of rape, murder and animal fiddling yet block someone why they make a nothing post on the LADbible group?

(Some lad who works as a butcher at a supermarket took a photo of a lady customer who looks like some football manager and I said it was daft as his name and the supermarket he work for was clear for all to see and it wouldn't be hard for someone to grass him up)

All the more reason to avoid Facebook, Trig. I keep my postings to banal caps and very neutral statuses that are as vague as possible.

Ebat twat who only wanted £5 refund on £5.99 item has escalated his case to evilbay support. Despite not sending it back like he's supposed to. So no doubt this time tomorrow they'll give him free money from me, keep the item, laugh all the way to the bank twat.

^ That's the photo I commented on Will, bit pathetic on my part i know but it thought it was a bit rude to take photos of customers, this is the comment i'm banned for...

"Even more intelligent is admitting it on here Dainiol Cochrane, we can see you work for https://www.facebook.com/SuperValu so it wouldn't take much for someone to grass you up if they wanted"

But it's OK if you want to post a video of a horse shagging a bloke though...
