If anyone has a cheap, working laptop of some sort looking for a home,PM me

I have a wheezing old XP laptop that you can have for £postage if nobody else comes up with a better one. I'll have to spend an evening removing all my personal shit from it first though.

I have one with a fecked hard drive you can have for free if you can be bothered to fix it.

I have spare hard drives that would probably do. I bought at least one on eBay and assumed they were broken but I have since discovered what I was doing wrong.

Oh I see JM, probs something from Taiwan then as they are horrible fiddly things to put back together apparently

Sounds French to me.

I just got sick of being at home (where all the stuff was) because it seemed to be an endless cycle of going to work and doing endless sodding DIY every bastard weekend so i decided to sort the problem by getting myself chucked out the house. I successfully did that with the help of a smart lass from my office on a works night out. Fucking CA$HBACK!!! Don't feel sorry for me as its turned out to be a great strategy all things considered. Need to offliad some scrap though, the Argenta, Doblo and Seat are going up for sale shortly.

Nice. Are you living in your unit now then?

Wow. My picture was supposed to be amusingly unrealistic, but your explanation has thoroughly trumped it anyway. It looks really silly now. Thanks for that.

I thought you'd been quiet of late Bo1's, hope it all works out for you, I'm still waiting for the nod on what we was talking about the other day.

I'm mildly grumpy as i have no computer and therefore no internet access apart from via this poxy telephone. However its my own fault as I have 'lost' the computer along with most other non-car possessions in the fall-out from my recent mid-life crisis. On the upside i am expecting at least 1 solid day of garage action this weekend - something that hasn't happened for flipping months. It would be 2 days but I'm going to the Derby beer fest tomorrow so will probably load much of Saturday.

north west ale festival = not in the north west ffs :D (last two years its been in central manc :D )

if ya see a big scary man from whitley bay with an even scarier shirt on towing along a bloke with a beard from leics - run away like :D

You really shouldn't laugh at peoples misfortunes, but I just did. Sorry.

*Only because that's exactly the kind of thing I have done in the past :(

Actually I did a similar thing, got chucked out with only stuff I could carry so turned up at my mum's in a taxi with just the clothes I was wearing, my amp and speakers and PS3. Troo story. Worked out well. Still got the speakers too.

Despite some intensive tutoring I can only play the D and E chords on the guitar, and my songs are very, very simple, or 'lite'. So my band is called DE-Lite.

The only song I've written is about someone who is hospitalised by a blocked coronary artery and how the doctor has to cut a channel, or 'groove' in the artery to save his life.

You're either musically gifted, or you're not. Many (about 33) moons back I could play about four notes of the Sex Pistols 'Belsen Was A Gas' on a bass guitar. Quite badly.

Mild grump.....

We have had a new Transit demo sitting in the yard all week so I took it home last night (free fuel. Got up this morning to frosty screen......fumble around the many buttons.....no heated screen ffs! Took fooking ages to deice/fog the massive glazing.

All modern vans are shit.....

I think the new Transit looks rubbish, the front overhang throws off the proportions.

Somerset broken again. Tried to drive to Chelmsford and had to turn back after a couple of miles due to very bad misfiring. Investigation reveals the entire ignition system is filled with those crappy Chinese made "Lucas" branded components, which are brand new, and to top it off, a red rotor arm. Rotor arm and dizzy cap contacts very burnt and the points gap has closed up. I have a NOS rotor arm and an original condensor but only a modern set of points. It is so frustrating that Lucas get away with selling this crap nowadays, it's all the specialists sell and NOS parts are getting harder to find.

Also, University. There's a trip to the House of Commons towards the end of March before PMQ's, with limited spaces that I really wanted to go on. I emailed the lecturer in charge of the trip ages ago asking to be put on the list and he never responded, I now find out all the places have been filled. F*cking cheers for letting me know, dickhead.

I always get the new Transit mixed up with the LDV Maxus when I see one.

a quick drive will fix that..........attractive though the Maxus may be as shite they were pretty shit for their day.

I was there moons ago but was threatened with eviction when the curious incident of the Morris Oxford engine rebuild in the night time went a bit wrong. Now I always drain the old sump oil out before getting pissed and carrying engines up college stairs.

What's wrong with the red rotor arm? I thought they were the only good ones. They've always been the first thing I've put on my cars after having one of the shite riveted black ones shatter at 70mph, leaving me picking fragments of bakelite out of my distributor on the hard shoulder.
