Ah yes. Because being a bit upset about the loss of minty cigarettes is a really good reason to join that bunch of racist idiots.

I smoke menthol e-cigarettes and quite like them. Maybe you might consider taking the opportunity to switch to vaping?

Posted

FUCK e-cigarettes. I'm having really bad withdrawal symptoms, not had it like this before.

After considering I might actually be dying and it wasn't withdrawal , I got in the car and bought some ciggies and smoked one. I think I feel better now and will quit slowly. My head is all over the place and was getting very anxious and having panic attacks which I have not had for absolutely ages/years.

Honestly, I've given up in the past and 'cold turkey' wasn't THIS bad, it feels like I've just given up smack or something?!

Are you using the little things that look like a ciggy? You might as well be removing locking wheelnuts by hammering on a box spanner, get this shizz at the very least.

Don't even bother trying to give up, if you've done it before it becomes impossible, just play with the battery fag and after a few weeks it just takes over, and no brutal murders on your conscience.

I'm using the electronic thing!

Last time I gave up was for nearly two years. I only started again when I was made redundant. I've not decided to give up since, but now I'm going to give up, but weighing up feeling like a zombie and feeling great but reducing my life by 5 seconds, I'll go with the latter. That time I gave up without any aids.

I've had enough of the cigs anyway and I must give up now. Will try that new fangled vapour thing, as the E-cig feels like I'm inhaling on one of those smoke machines you get in nightclubs, and tastes like it as well. I have used the gum before and found one that tasted like a well smoked dog end. It put me off smoking for about 6 months. Before I started again! I will give up this time though. :)

I've had two rollies since, and I. FEEL. GREAT.!

sounds perfectly reasonable to me. Starting smoking is the best thing I've ever done, I'd reccomend it to anybody.

If they're banning menthols it looks like i'll quit. I smoked L&B for 10 years but they were getting a bit harsh so went onto B&H silver couple of years then the same thing. I've been on JPS mintys for a year now and they're great, i can happily chuff 20 a day.

Last/only time i quit was for 9 months 3 years ago, using a plastic tampon looking thing from my GP. Only used it a couple of weeks because it was a bit shit looking so just used normal chewing gum and occassional rage outbursts in the end.

Fortunately I live in my workplace so nerdy libdem smoking laws don't apply to me. 1500-2000 miles a week incarcerated in a cab without tabs would bring Evil Warren out to play on an hourly basis.

Did I read the Tories plan to ban e-ciggies in pubs because 'they make people feel uncomfortable'?

There are worse ways to incur debt than that lovely, lovely, Prisma.  It wouldn't be debt, it'd be an investment in your own happiness.

Posted

Mr Imp, you should have jumped on that Prisma last month when it went for £460 ... I may have been the second highest bidder on that auction

If you want to incur debt then can I tempt you with my HPE? It's too nice and shiny for me and I only deserve the scruffy spyder.

One and a half grand. Bloody hell I've never spent that  much on a car!

Posted

I've never spent that much on anything.  Mainly because I've never had that much money to spend.

Posted

My Prisma cost me £80 out of the local auction.  Admittedly that was 9 years ago and it was somewhat scruffier than that one.

I would. But not on a Lancia Prisma.

See, everybody is different.

However, Mr. Hillmanimp, all you have to do now is stay patient. The car will not sell for the current asking price anyway.

If a car is worthy of you, any car, it will come to you sooner or later.

You will never find the right car, the right car will find you. If it doesn't find you, it's not the right car.

That's so beautiful it's making me a bit weepy.

The Prisma is the epitome of "anti-styling". Look at it! /\/\/\ Was it done by a four-year-old?

Obv, this means it's one of my favourite 80s cars  I wish I'd 'rehomed' the one that was abandoned in Tesco's car park a few years back...

Really? What a goon I am for missing that. :-? I cant afford it at the mo so may hang fire until such a time that it might drop as per other peeps advice.

Ta for the offer of the HPE too but might hang around and wait and see what happens with this. Soz

It belonged to one of my Flickr contacts. He only wanted 500 for it before it even went on eBay.

Money, I suppose this makes anyone bitter, angry and frankly pissed off. But I really don't get what is going on here. For nearly a year now I've been trying to crack the £1k in savings barrier, get above it comfortably so I've got something to vack myself up on. But for some reason, in all that time I've been unable to conquer that BASTARD barrier. Take now for example; my job unexpectedly came to an end last week, agencies don't seem to have immidiate work on. Today I got paid my last pay and a (very small) bit from the tax man which came nigh on £400 which took me passed the 1k savings barrier (for about the 10th time) by at least £100. Today, I have had to spent £130, £70 of that unexpectedly. Everytime I get there, money just seems to get sucked up by one bloody thing or another.

Years ago, somehow I managed to save the most money I've ever had, 5k, but of course that soon went when my other job finished.

I just give up sometimes, I really fucking do.

Posted

You are not alone in this.  I've been trying to just get out of my overdraft and can't, every time I get a decent chunk of it cleared an unexpected thing - tax man due to Bolsover Council cock-up, Bolsover Council insisting I pay a bill I've already paid (long story), car breaking - comes along to clear me out and put me back to square one again.  Some days it feels like I'll never have the means to get out of here and I'll be stuck living with my parents well past next Christmas, let alone this.

I'm not sure if I'm grumpy about this or not -

Been offered a car I've wanted for a while and yet I'm not buying it. Why you ask? Well, I've realised that I've still got plenty of stuff to do with the R4 and with two kids and a business time is rather precious. I could buy it but it'd hardly get used and as much as I really do want it, I know the sensible thing is to pass.

What is happening to me...

Posted

It's only money. All they ever want is money. It's the only thing that makes them happy. There are hardly any people left that want something else from me, it's always money. Only money.

I drew the consequences and don't give a shit about money anymore. Let them have it. Let them take it all. And more. As long as it is only money, I don't give a moist fart.

Well said, Junkman, I would rather run  out of money before  I run out of life rather than the other  way around
