Grumpy.... nope majorly p*ssed off and feeling dumbfounded.

Had a meeting with manager (annual 1 to 1) gave feedback about communication and how the department isn't 'kept in the loop', and when we are informed it's patchy and generally piss poor, never face to face etc.

The previous day got news that a colleague had ..... well decided to 'call it a day' with his life, this wasn't common knowledge and literally two of us found out due to the other guy knowing said blokes family, so we pondered how the news would be broken once the company were made aware.

A fucking WhatsApp.

They sent a half arsed forwarded message via WhatsApp.

Disgraceful.

🤷‍♂️ Sorry about the rant.

That's exactly the sort of thing that shows you shouldn't let a job take over and ruin your life. They just don't care.

I hope that you and your colleagues are able to support eachother through this, even when it's not someone you know closely this sort of thing can affect you in unexpected ways.

Not the end of the world. I will be car hunting after Christmas. So I am looking on line now. Where have all the colours gone? Black, white, silver/grey are the common colours. I am not looking at new cars, maybe around 2015 - 19

Partner hdi is still stuttering under mid load. Egr blank helped a little, but made it default to limp mode eventually.

I might follow @dollywobbler down the path of firing some special jizz up the turbo - perhaps the vanes are sticky down the low end?

Sticky vanes would normally give you overboost or underboost codes. Stuttering under load sounds more like MAF.

An easy way to tell is to unplug the MAF and see if it runs better using default values.

Did you bring that up at your 1 to 1?

They did this AFTER, hence my further frustration. Not even 24hrs after giving pretty honest feedback, they didn't take an ounce onboard. No respect for the individual at all.

Obviously just a number

Went Xmas shopping today......(that's not the grump)

The grump is - on returning from said shopping expedition I noticed a slipped hip tile on the roof. I'm not one for heights (and although the missus doesn't mind heights, she is unwilling to get up the ladder and re-cement the tile).

So I resorted to posting on the local FB page asking for recommendations for a roofer....I now have to make a lucky dip choice of the various pikey / scammer / cowboy builder types who have responded to the post.

Will they turn up? Will I be dry bummed for more roofing work needing to be done? Will they try and talk me into having a new roof?

Place bets now........

Sorry, didn't appreciate the time line. Piss poor management.

If I'd been part of that and they chose to do that about someone I knew, someone would be getting a kick in the bollocks for that.  Absolutely disgraceful.

Ask your neighbours, preferably the elderly ones with immaculate houses.

I still think of that as a £30k car. Out of touch obviously but that’s madness.

Reggie of what date that is quite old (classic now)? A small blue town car, and a Dacia. These are not suitable for me.

2022, 1999, 2022. Too new or too old for you.

That small town car does 130 miles most days on just electricity

I still hate working on exhausts.  Especially so when it's cold and windy and I'm laying on the drive.

Exhausts are about the only thing I pay someone else to do for the exact same reasons.

Elctic cars are a no no here. The power supply is not up to much and the electricity company will not upgrade without a load of dosh.  That sort of thing is no good for my yearly dashes across Europe.

Need a decent engine for the mountains. Dacia is, what a one litre, or there abouts?

It's the 1.5 dci which with the 4x4 has done a pretty good job of lugging a family of five through all weathers around hills and mountains, sometimes with a trailer filled with wine and stacked with bikes.

Some cities are banning Diesels. I need a petrol Euro 5 .

Solar panels are cheap.

If I were looking for something with a reasonably large petrol engine and that could cross the continent with ease, I would look for an Avensis.

Yes, it's boring, but find a good one and one has a reliable  good car for years to come. Alternatively Auris or Corolla but are smaller cars with smaller engines.

being paid to do exhausts is one of the reasons I have two electric cars 😂

Still cost a lot of dosh. Trees give us shade from the summer sun.

I thought you was as you answered  my grump with an illustration of what I could get. You are just a tease.
