He has been transferred to the nearest hospital and I visited him today. And it's hell, the hospital is understaffed, so those who work there are overworked and stressed, so no wonder we have so many mistakes that happen in hospitals. And the building is old and run down and dirty and reminiscent of something from the 3rd world. I could probably take 100 photos like the one below when I was there today. So my experience with Norwegian hospitals is still the same as always.

I am surprised to read that. The propaganda ( I expect there is a better word for this) that comes out of the UK press says that Norway never squandered the money made fro oil revenues. It invested it in schools, infrastructure and hospitals.

I hope your dad recovers soon... How is your tooth/teeth?

Norway does not spend money on anything and it makes no difference which party is in power. The police, health, care for the elderly, the road network, etc. all have problems. The local fire department where I live was in the media a few years ago when one of the few fire trucks they had was a converted milk truck that was 30 years old and had done over 1 million km and was worn out and unreliable this sort of thing is common. 

The only police officer in an area up north was left without a police car and had to use a bicycle or his private car after the 15 year old police car with over 400,000km had an engine failure and there was no money to fix it. It sounds like a joke, but it's true. Yeah, so literally the only vegetarian dish that isn't make it yourself salad and chip sandwiches tonight is mushroom pizza and after one bite I notice its got fucking tuna on it. 30 years I've been a vegetarian and apparently I should have asked. Far as I'm concerned it should say mushroom and fucking fish.

I was in Larbert hospital. 

A senior nurse studied it and proclaimed "Hmm", which didn't exactly instill confidence 😂 Then a microbiologist put her head round the door and she and her colleagues had been studying it with interest too.

Basically though I need to let the antibiotics work and give them a longer chance, so I'm back home again.

They weren't taking the piss with it though. Some folk in the waiting room were moaning because they'd been waiting all day but I was in at 10 to 4, assessed in about 1/2 hour, seen by the senior nurse in another 1/2 hour and home by 7pm.

My Grump - spent the afternoon drilling out through a double skinned breezeblock wall. New waste pipe from sink to new outside gulley/trap.
Happy days.
Then found the dishwasher waste pipe has split right where it fits into the sink waste - poxy dishwasher is a built in job and takes ages to unscrew and pull out to access the waste connections at the back.
Fuckit - RTV sealant, cable ties and some trunking. Test that  tomorrow and if it works, sorted. If not, dog bowl will be repurposed.

Hospital visit with number 3 son today to hopefully get him signed off as ok for the rest of this year and maybe go on holiday at some point, the specialist has upped his meds, we now have our own INR machine to take home, and he’s booked him in for blood tests next week,  another check up end of the month and a Heart Catheter is on the cards for early next month. Only plus side his SATS are now up to 85-90.   A bit of a bum day really

all went really well!

decided to put one last clip in to make it just look a bit tidier

no sooner had i clipped it in

wonder why the intruder alarm is having a tantrum

I’d managed to hit not one but 2 alarm cables with a single small nail 

so spent the best part of an hour soldering them back together

but wait it gets better 

I managed to then pop the bell and the battery fuse whilst soldering

cue the bell box going off and unable to stop it with a dead keypad

managed to raid all the drawers for glass fuses and got normal operation again, it even still works as it’s been set for a few hours this evening 

what a fuck on

Ours still loves to throw a massive hissy fit if the phone line ever goes down.  Which happens at least a couple of times a year for a couple of minutes.  Usually at about three in the morning.  Generally met with huge amounts of swearing.

What model is it? You can usually turn that off so long as it’s not still monitored
