I've got a Xantia here if you want it, beko.

It goes in a straight line, stops properly, everything! Proper luxury motoring.

Still slightly regret not owning it now tbh! Not much though. Mine goes in a straight line if I hold the steering wheel slightly to the left, and stops evenly now. With any luck it will get me to shitefest and back!

No important really but found a set of Y spoke alloys for the 75, love these wheels. Look to be a bargain but down in London and the seller won't pack them for a courier to collect.  :-(

My grump is the sunburn I received at the weekend. Now you might say I should have used sunblock, which I did in large quantities. However whilst my head, neck and arms are still their usual pasty selves, I forgot I was wearing an unbuttoned polo shirt so have a bit red spot right between my collarbones.

My head, face & arms are all a lovely shade of beetroot, that'll serve me right for forgetting a hat & suntan lotion when stood on an airfield all day.

Do you know what part of that London the rimz are in?

I tried this for a good 3 weeks the last time my ear was blocked to no avail. Had to go to the clinic and have somebody blast it full of water, a few days later my hearing gradually returned.

I used to get earwax build up because I wear hearing protection for long periods at work; the best way I've found for getting rid has been really hot showers and directing the water into my ears. This seems to mobilise the wax and it comes out on its own, sometimes in alarmingly large lumps.

Wasn't Duxford was it?

My wife and kids (24+25) are away on holiday now, I'm home alone.

Talk about relaxing.

TBH, if my wife was 24 and my kids were 25, she'd be holidaying with me.

If your wife was 24 and the kids were 25 then surely the kids were clocked?

Bruntingthorpe, hence my Lightning pic on the grin thread.

Amys had a growth on a booby last year that the doctors put down to childbirth. It came back a few days ago. Fast forward to this morning, after I'd finished the gooner and before I went to aylesbury and she went to the doctors who gave her antibiotics. She caught it this afternoon and it bled, she's in hospital now.

T minus 4 days until shitefest... Mmmmm

If you make (in the wifes eyes) the wrong decision it will never be forgotten for a long time, a veeeeeeery long time and it will be brought up at every opportunity.

This.

Although, to be fair, going on a jolly and leaving her whilst she's ill is a bit harsh.

Indeed. Always prioritise your wife's jubblies over strange men on the internet. I'm not sure it's a good idea for the two to mix either...

She's not let me prioritise her jubblies for a while, and now this has happened, not for a while longer yet!

She's home now, the hospital didn't want to do much incase they made it worse, she's having an appointment made at the special clinic. If that comes through for this weekend then I shall not be coming, however if we hear nothing I'll be coming. She's got her antibiotics etc, so there's not much we can do

Posted

Not much we can do except wish you luck there beko!  Hope it turns out to be something-and-nothing.

Hopefully. I won't stay at home incase something happens, Eva will be at amys dads, there's people here who can have charlie if she does have to go in, and I imagine the breast clinic is a monday to friday 9-5 job anyway, so if we hear nothing by friday it won't happen anyway. I think she's going to sack work off this weekend too so that will help.

I'm WFH today, but can't take the piss all week so she will have to get on with it tomorrow and friday regardless. I started to get stuff together for shitefest earlier, I'll bring the car round tonight and clear it out and offer the airbed up

Why are specialists so terrible at keeping in touch and telling you what you owe them?

It's been MONTHS and I want my car back. Is the final bill more than agreed? Less than agreed?  How much do I owe you?

Too hard, all this, as is work.

I'm not going to be around as much as I used to be. How lucky are you lot?
See thee all around.

I'm not sure if this should be a grump or maybe a grin. Lodger came down and was having a chat whilst we each brewed coffee. After about 5 minutes he goes back up to his room and all he'll breaks loose. Comes flying down the stairs with something molten in his hands which got ejected out the front door extremely quickly. House stunk off acrid smoke. Turns out he brought a new and boxed, sealed, bluetooth speaker from the Sunday car boot market thingy. He had put it on the floor to charge for the first time, then came down to make coffee and have a chat. Luckily he went back upstairs with it and not out in the garden with me to drink it. Damage is luckily limited to an extremely burnt patch if carpet but god knows what would have happened if it had been left to burn longer. In all fairness to him he was extremely upset and straight away offered to pay for repairs to the flooring. So kids, learn a lesson and don't buy cheap crap p Chinese electrical goods from a sunday market.
