Dunno if there's ever been a thread for this but here's a car chase I rather like.

1970's shite-fest with a Mk2 Capri vs an S-Type Jag :-D

I love Ronin's chases, they are something special. The XMs moment of cinematic fame. And some Audis and other tat....

There was a really good Yewtoob channel called Car Chase Wonderland - seems to have been deleted, probably copyright infringement :(

This is so dangerous...

I bought an XM V6 after watching this (and having a bit of a drink)...

It's safe to watch this as I've owned several Minis...

One of the best ever chases...

Choreographed film car chases are great, but I get great pleasure out of rewatching Mk2 Astras etc being chased around housing estates by Omega cop cars in early episodes of "Road Wars" :)

the original Gone in Sixty Seconds, like the chase in French Connection, filmed on open roads and NO CGI......

The white car hit by Gene Hackman's commandeered Pontiac toward the end of the FC chase was apparently a 'civilian' in the wrong place at the wrong time.  Allegedly, the application of mucho dinero was required to calm troubled waters...

The Sweeney 'Stoppo Driver' episode Consul GT chase was on Youtube for ages but seems to be currently unavailable.   'Cooney, show us what you're made of',   etc.

The main chase is nearer the end.  This is all of the original film ↓

71 Mustang made up to look like a 73.  Interesting background info from Wiki.  A lot of the filming was done on public roads in daytime.

A good chase is in the film the seven ups - pontiac grand ville trying to get away from a pontiac ventura driven by Roy Scheider.

The Ronin chase is up there for me as well, the way the XM and 406 were driven was fiendishly brutal.

Do you remember the episode with the bag thief driving a black Polo? He could drive. I'd like to see that one again.

Classic James Bond really did set a precedent with these. The yellow 2CV, the submarine Lotus... even the remote control BMW in one of the Pierce Brosnan films.

Would imagine you’ve got to give a 406 a fair booting to keep up with an M5

The 406 had the 3.0 V6 and the Beemer was slowed a bit* by the oncoming traffic!

Was that supposed to be an M5?  I always thought it was more like a 520, which would mean even with 2.0 litres, the Pug was on a better footing.

Is the Charger the most used in car chases?

In America, quite possibly.  In Europe, it's going to be close between the Alfa Romeo Giulia and the Citroen DS, both extremely favoured.  There are plenty of Euro chases on the Toob to back me up in this.

Or the Mini maybe?

Surprisingly, the Mini hasn't featured as much as we might think.  Jaguar, if you add together the mk2, S-Type and maybe XJ6, has done much better.

This is a favourite of mine. Ronin is better though!

Love Jack Lemmon!

As I was saying about Jags!  Yes, Robbery is a splendid chase, and is widely believed to be what secured Yates the job on Bullitt.
