I'm too busy looking at that grooved bumper split window Beetle. Yum

I'd hazard a guess that it's not a car in the true sense, but instead a pedal-powered conveyance.  The Belgians have a love of grown-up pedal cars that endures to this day.  I saw plenty in De Panne when holidaying there, although the modern ones are purpose built and look like Fred Flintstone's car.

Good call, it does look a bit too basic even for a micro car type thing.

Sheffield, 1960s. What's the two tone sporty thing? Ashley maybe?

Daimler sp250 dart springs to mind, but not quite right?

Ballamy was another that sold GRP bodies and chassis to optimists with shagged out pre-war and post-war cars that were practically pre-war.

Nah that's a special built from something pre or just post war.

Careful!  That's fighting talk in some quarters.  It's clearly a doctored photo of the Sunbeam Alpine Fastback concept car.  If you look closely, you'll see that the third flower from the left in the bed within the roundabout is looking the other way.  It's well established that all flowers, at least those grown pre-1994, would instinctively look towards a Sunbeam Alpine Fastback concept car if one went past.

I spotted this unusual looking car yesterday. Is it a kit car based on a Ford Escort mark 1 or mark 2 Cortina? It has a few "V8 Vantage" badges on it and a "DB" one on the wing .

No clue on the car, but they want to be careful with that 'touch parking' with a fibreglass car

Did you happen to get the reg?

No I didn't - D'oh! I think it was on a K reg.

I think it might be a DMS Bullitt, a Capri-based Aston Martin sort-of lookalike, with a non-standard hardtop and modified rear end.

Also think it's a DMS Bullitt. Capri A-pillar and door.

There was a white one on e-bay. The owner seemed to think it was worth Aston Martin V8 money.

Probably a really simple one here...

Birmingham, 1957.  What is the gold car on the left between the Ford 100E and the lorry?  I'm thinking Vauxhall but I'm not certain.

Vauxhall Velox/Wyvern/Cresta?

1956/7 Vauxhall Velox E. The Wyvern only had front trim to the front door and the Cresta had a contrasting colour flash on the side. Also that car has the rear arse lift bigger rear lights that were introduced in 1956 for the 1957 model year.

OK, WTF is this then?

image.png.49b2e1bb2a0472070a3704ba09aab64a.png

Spotted by someone on another forum in Germany recently.  I'm guessing it's a one-off kit car, which will probably mean it's a Beetle underneath just like 99% of kit cars.

Work In Progress. Has the rarely-seen trailer hitch attachment.  Can be taken to any National Corvette Restoration Society meet. They won't let you in, but you can take it.

This is a circa 1965 Vauxhall Victor 101. It’s very similar to the contemporary Opel Rekord:

Rear lights are also lower on the Victor than on the Rekord.

Almost certainly a VW underneath.  The transverse, single tailpipe silencer is more reminiscent of the Type 3 or even a van, but that probably doesn't mean anything as bits can no doubt be adapted to fit anywhere.  Of more interest are the wheels, which look like Empi Sprint Stars - probably worth a fortune if they're the real thing.  VW wheels, obviously.

It looks like the secret lovechild of a Piper GT and an Electrek.

I think it is based on a 411/412 because of teh length of the wheelbase and the exhaust exiting on the right.
