The sports car looks like an Alfa Romeo, judging by the grille, but what model is it? And the estate, any ideas?

The car registered PA 25921 is a Fiat 500C Giardinetta.

Fiat-500c-belvedere-nervesauto-in-vendit

The PA on the plate is from Palermo, which is on Sicily. So after a quick look on the interwebs it turns out that the picture was taken during the 1966 Targa Florio. The Alfa is the Autodelta Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ2, chassis number 750111 , that was driven by Teodoro Zeccoli and "Geki". The car number was 114 and the reg no was UD 119445.

I think it looks like a Dodge or Plymouth maybe a Plymouth Savoy?

1961 Plymouth, probably a Fury as it seems to have a chrome strip on the trunk lid

Correct.  1961 Fury had the chrome strip on the trunk.  Belvedere and Savoy didn't.

All Google comes up with is "1941 Hispano Suiza Electric van three wheels Tipus 531 design by Alain Goupy in the Tarbes Factory." and that picture but more Googling of all these names comes up with nothing else that I can see. I wonder if it's a clever photoshop?

Hey I'd love to use one of those as a daily. It's like something out of Doctor Who.

I feel like I should know but I don't. 1939 Willys is the closest I can get

I guessed Cord.

There's a connection. The next generation Graham in 1940 used obsolete Cord body dies, with a restyled front end, but on a rear-wheel drive platform. Called the Graham Hollywood, which I always thought sounded like a cruise ship comedian or a local radio DJ

Edit to add: I wonder if this is the only case of a car being replaced by a design which was older than the one it was replacing?

A bit of history that no one asked for. Norway's police chief during the war Karl Marthinsen was shot and killed in a Graham sharknose in February 1945 by Norwegian resistance fighters. The bullet holes are clearly visible in the picture. So some of these special cars existed here.Screenshot2024-01-1808_16_25.thumb.png.d3e961a77f9eceaa3c57aef233ba461a.png

The square headlamps spoil that imho. :(

Probably the first car to have square headlights, does anyone know of an earlier example?
