The MG ZTT was on my radar but considering its not exactly a mint example and it has barely any options it'll be a big nope from me at that price. Project Drive has hit hard by the time this one was built as well. I feel like these sell for the same money and much lower miles on ebay, without having to be junk. Great color and the right engine/gearbox though.

It's a bit of a mixed/weird bag in that sale tbh - kind of warmed up leftovers.
There's nothing that really leaps out at me - there's a P38 (DSE) which did not sell at £2180 in September - I thought that a fair price , now it's on sale with no reserve - be interesting to see what it goes for. Maybe silly money  - even on these timed auctions bidders seem to rack up a higher price than you can find elsewhere on the web and these cars are sold as seen with no test drive?
There's a 924S  that needs a fair bit of TLC, better prospect next weekend at Anglia Car Auctions (I have kind of  permanent wifely permission on a 924/924S and the ACA commision is 2/3rds of Brightwells)

Yeah, considering you need to add the buying fees to your final bid I don't think many of these are any better deal than what you find on the usual sites. At least you get some decent photos in the ad.

They do decent photos there - I've bought and sold through them a couple of times quite happily - but I'd still try and rock up and kick tyres/poke crispy bits if I was seriously going to spend an amount. This auction totally passed me by until this morning which means I do not have time/opportunity to get over there if there was anything that really grabbed me.

Plus, half the fun is a proper live auction - Brightwells are running it like eBay at the moment - boring to watch. ACA much better

Why wouldn’t they just claim on the insurance and be done with the hateful thing?

Really?  My 75 is on an 03 plate so only 6 months older, and that doesn't seem to be noticeably afflicted by PD at all.  Or at least I couldn't see any significant differences to a 2001 Conn SE I sat in.  I thought it was the facelift when things really started going tae shite.

'confirmed by a classic car auctioneer'

I bought a Rover 213 once that the auctioneer confirmed was a good runner. It didn't even make 20 yards to the gate.
