Potential bargain here, though you'd want to spray the frame black and maybe re-paint over that naff blue, but what a lot of bike for the money

I find that of interest and would like to know more. Do I need an anorak?

I don't really know more than that other than, they were making ridiculous claims about speed and battery range.

They changed the dial faces 4 or 5 times to account for the lower speed and range. It was a right old fart about.

I can't explain why this is still for sale - it's had a new clutch which is a killer, it's flippin' K reg with a astonishingly rare spec of dealer bodykit and optional air con on an alberto Green GLX. It was £2k, now it's £1k. Someone needs to buy it! Previously magazine featured.

To me, literally the perfect spec MK1 Mondeo with the sweet 1.8 and ideal retro daily with the air con. I cannot see anyone losing on this car.

I had one of these in the same colour back in 1996 when I started a new job and “inherited” an L reg Mondeo. Was a great drive but the boot leaked, filled the spare wheel well and flooded the back seat when I braked. Unfortunately I didn’t know this until I was giving a new colleague a lift to the Christmas do and he had to spend the night looking like he’d pissed himself😬

I like this no nonsense sales pitch:

IMG_20221219_181557.thumb.jpg.f063dfec195207329cac4c7b43a4d621.jpg

"I will not take payments" - erm, ok then m9, not sure how the purchaser will convey their £500 to you if that's the case 🤔

"I won't swap for your dodgy consoles" - this is a man of our own heart!

Also; 167,000 miles in a VW Fox!? A very poor soul that had to endure that.

At least it's the 1.4 4cyl which is infinitely better and infinitely less shit than the 1.2 6v time bomb!

Wrongly engined low mileage Transit

FORD TRANSIT 120 1988 F REG 13,046 MILES FORM NEW ITS NEVER BEEN MOTD BARN FIND | eBay

Some shizzles about it never having an MOT as wasn't used on the road, but it's showing as being taxed in 2018.

Oh my indeed. This sort of horrendous porridge is my guilty pleasure. Looks like a great interesting Winter smoker (all old car look better in the snow, I've realised). Shame the seats are a bit trashed, but I'm sure you could source a better set without having to resort to anything dreadful like a retrim - which would render this utterly worthless in my eyes. Just been paid early before Xmas, too. Wonder what his best price tonite M8 is?

Looks very nice for that price. In terms of running around in it - in order to reduce noise on these OHC engines - the crankshaft helical gear that drove the camshaft was steel and the camshaft gear was of resin-bonded fibre construction, rather than a steel-to-steel coupling. These can fail - I think there may be a modern 'fix' but worth checking out on a non-runner car.

It's in the heroic British tradition of a built-in snag.

... and another two just down the page.  They're really sneaky high performance cars, I'd mistake them for a Pug Partner any day

A brilliant commuter (30 miles range in winter, 40 in summer), it's been very cheap reliable motoring.

Mechanically good, I've replaced the very expensive rear discs and gone over the whole thing. Pretty rough cosmetically due to its previous life as a traffic management vehicle (big work boots), but all the panels are stocked by Renault and easy to replace if desired as they're just snap on plastic.

Can come with a few extras which I've collected over the years, such as the very rare Twizy blanket (covers legs in the cold, a genuine Renault option), and OVMS monitoring box (for remote charging tracking and GPS etc), a Type 2 adapter (so you can use public chargers), and some spares. Full price needed for these to be included as they're worth a decent chunk on their own.
Battery owned.
