Ooh. 1988 Maestro Vanden Plas automatic. Palatial. Same cloth seat trim as my sister's old 1.6 Mayfair.

£1,995. MOT October 2023

Can you imagine the luxury of one of these combined with the muscle* of the 2.0 EFI?

Neither can I. It will remain a wet dream, as far as motoring goes.

Last night I watched a bit of Knight Rider on Legend.

Just saying, like.

I think top-spec Trans-Am was no less than 189bhp. How did Michael Knight catch any baddies with that?

Not sure if the pipe being chrome suits it, but there aren't many better looking 'peds than these things.

Because the baddies had 120bhp?

I wonder if 1970s American cars would be good to convert to electric?  There’s loads of space for batteries and whilst they aren’t very aerodynamic I bet once you remove the iron engine, auto box and catalysts they’re not very heavy.

'Cos he's The Hoff and his ultra coolness gave my kid sister weak knees and +50 BhP to the TransAm.

V8 looks to be transverse, what model please? @Schaefft

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/155324223562

It's the same 4.6 as in my mark viiis, just transversely mounted as the continental is fwd. Without title this could be quite the hassle, and considering these aren't worth a whole lot the vat and transport on top of the asking price is probably pushing it close to what an already registered one would cost. A bit of a shame as these are nice cars if the gearbox hasn't blown up.

I felt the luxurious handling of the 2.0 EFi many times and my knickers may have got wet but not from joy

Isn't this quite cheap for one of these things?

VW Transporter T4 New 12 Month MOT | eBay

It has the obligatory half-arsed 'home camper conversion kit' loosely nailed into the back, but these daft old things seem to fetch more than this when they've been lying in a field for 15 years.

It is indeed. He recently had it towed as people got inside of it searching for valuables, apparently the locals complained about it.

I thought it was still abandoned in the hedge

Ohhhh...given that the Jet Stream is probably wobbling and the Gulf Stream switching off this could prove useful in the first upcoming British Arctic Winter... and given there are so few municipal snow ploughs these days you could be onto a winner winner chicken dinner....
