Dont think thats a ringer, Ebay listing says it has a 2.5 diesel engine which fits for the time period

the Nissan was a 2.7 lump

unless theres something obvious that im missing which shows it to have the nissan lump?

Engine Size:

ahhh yeah I tend to just gloss-over that section on eBay for the most part, as often times its auto-filled and not very relevant to the actual thing being listed

I was going by what he describes it as in the listing :) (and the DVLA record, which obviously wont be correct if it was a ringer mind!)

I do almost wonder if its actually an FL2 hire car? but there is something on the roof and I almost wonder if thats covering an ex Taxi light hole?

It’s registered as a 2520cc

probably got the BMC diesel

shame there’s no pics of the engine, as the exhaust manifold on the BMC diesel kind of looks like a set of rams horns

he also describes it as a 3 speedo auto, and the Nissan Powered Jobbies (the Fairways) used a four speed auto a Jatco E4N71B to be exact from some quick sleuthing :)

I remember getting one of those as a hire car in Spain in about 1995. They weren’t imported here, so it was a case of WTF.?

We parked it on the road outside our hotel and we could see it from the balcony of our room. One day a massive German coach comes along and can’t get round the corner, so several guys jump out of the coach and lift our car onto the pavement.

No good for turning into a racecar then. Which is obviously what will happen with one of these with their racing pedigree. 😉

2 300 €

La voiture était beige a l'origine , elle a été repeinte extérieurement en vert pour le tournage du téléfilm l'affaire Grégory sur TF1.

I am unusually aroused by a 305. It was a bog standard fwd 80s saloon, but somehow almost every bit of it was 'right'.

Being bog standard, they're basically extinct, which is a shame.

Is it for sale?

Nah. It's not worth much. Lhd and a shed, in both meanings. Going to chuck some money at the bodywork next month to tidy* it up a bit and run it till it, or I, go to the scrapyard in the sky. Apart from that I like it because it's as base as you can get so not much to go wrong. I've had it twenty two years and I've got a bit attached to it and it gets a lot of looks. Mostly the Wtf is that heap kind.

@dome @davehedgehog31 said I should tag you in this and that you'd be a disappointment to the grand nation of Scotland if you didn't buy it and let it immediately ruin your life.

Eep.

Good job I've just put a deposit on a bright* red Italian sports* car or I'd have been adding this to my list of bad decisions.
