Conversation is paraphrased. You'll have to imagine the 'fill in' bullshit that dealers seem to spew surrounding every thing they say...

Me: I'll have it.

Fuckwit dealer: MOT has run out, that's why it is cheap. No reason it won't pass.

Me: Oh.. The advert says new MOT?

FD: Yeah, the MOT just ran out, it will be another 100 quid with an MOT.

Me: Erm - 50 maybe.

FD: Yeah, but I have to take it down there etc. Etc. Then tries to sell me a Hyundai Matrix for 200 quid dearer.

Me: Ok, never mind, bye.

 

Phone rings 20 mins later...

FD: Just talked to my mechanic, he says it will go through no problem, so only 50 quid more with MOT.

Me: Ok, that's great, I'll come and have a look. 

FD: (Insert waffle about car), it's not here, it's in the local Morrisons car park, and it hasn't got a battery on it, but mechanic says it's all fine, so if you leave 100 quid deposit, it can be ready by the weekend. 

Me: Ok, let me know once there's a battery on it, I'll come and have a look.

FD: Repeats above about mechanic saying it is all fine..

Me: Erm, no, I'm not putting a deposit on a car without seeing it run etc. 

FD: Oh, ok let me know ..

Me: Bye
