"Typical French gear change"? Wossat...probs? Ad has a bit too much marzipan for me. Recovery truck in background  - if so nice why not reMoT it? Last MoT shows corrosion advisory.

For some reason I thought there was a place that were re-doing 160/65-315 tyres, but it would appear not.

In the past I have tried to find out if you can buy those Metro and Montego metric tyres now anywhere. I have given up looking and concluded you simply can't, not at any price.

On the continent having the 'original' homologated tyre size is often an MOT requirement so i thought they might remain in low-volume availability over there long after everyone in the UK had swapped to imperial rims, (I remember dear departed Davenumbers battling with this issue actually) but I can't find anyone selling them anywhere.

That would really piss me off big time if I had a nice D-reg Metro City X in clove brown and I could not put the original wheels and tyres on it even  if I was ready to throw money at the problem. (Luckily I haven't got one so its not wrecking my sleep patterns just now)

There used to be a place in Wolverhampton that made remoulds , they would pay good money for Granada/ BMW TRXs and Metro / Montego  TDs(?) usable carcasses. A mate I shared a unit with  did partworns and remoulds , he’d buy any bald metrics off the local scrappers and take them in his LDV Convoy when buying new stock. I seem to remember even they wouldn’t touch Jag metrics!
This was in about 1995/6, so not strictly up to date info.

This is a lovely thing, and I'm sorely tempted even though I don't really drive manuals.  I sold these new in the late 80s and 90s and they really are wonderful things to drive.  GT is the same as XS albeit more practical with 5 doors.  This must be one of the last GTs as it seems to have the trim from the STDT, I sold these new and don't remember this trim on them, was usually the red and grey tweed.  Very luxurious anyhow.

I might be wrong because it was a long time ago but our AX Splash had metrics I think.

It's a Mark 2 that someone fitted a Mark 1 bonnet/grille/headlights to. Mark 2's came out late 1984 on the B plate.

Yep, plus Mk1 rear bumper and tailgate (there is a slight difference).  Guess they really wanted a Mk1!

How is it these people can manage to take a screenshot and then upload that photo, but can’t upload the original photos?!

TD Volcane with short MOT, £1250. Could be worth a look, it does sound promising.

I love this bit:

I've seen Volcanes up for crazy money before but they never seem to sell. Nice colour but 5 doors aren't in its favour either. ZX's look so much better in 3-door form IMHO

'recreating wheels' sounds interesting, any intel on that?

It was in this months practical classics. The guy had got some for his CX, the company was remaking them in sensible sizes and getting them type approved.

ZXs look great with the 16v round rear wheel arches IMO.

Nice looking 2 owner GS300 with low miles and claims of full history, premium tyres etc - £1500

This could prove a nice buy if everything checks out kosher.

I like this a lot! I already have plenty of Toyota products of the era for now though.

This was on my watch list recently. It was in South London and sold for about £400 BIN. Since been relisted, now in Tring for £900 but with full test. The seller's claim about failing on brake pads only seems to be genuine. TBH i wouldnt begrudge paying somewhere in the region of the asking price as it seems to be in good shape.

That's FraBu Classic in Switzerland. The fella sank his own time and money into producing a 16" (and only this size) replica of the Turbo metric alloy. The overall diameter is slightly increased, I think.
