That CX belonged to a Scottish based member on here back in the day...can't remember the name, but I remember that registration number....

Scooters?

Not ideal for Bonneville then?

Nah, you want a Minor 1000 for that....

Scooters?

I know 'Scooters' had a CX, but I've had a search and think the one above belongeg to 'J-J' (last active Sept 2016)...

Cheap LiteAce with broken cambelt in the spares section.  Unfortunately it's a diesel so doubtless valves will have twatted pistons (I believe the pez versions of these were non-interference), and engine access is an arse on these so fixing it would be fun*.  Still would if it were closer though.

Deffo in for a group buy on that Marina coupehatch if others are up for it.

Coupehatch appears to be suffering from what killed my 1.8 coupe 35 years ago: rotten front chassis rails that twisted a bit, causing the lower wishbones to be pushed out and giving the car a nose-down, negative-camber stance.  I exaggerated it on mine by putting 165 tyres on the back but the 145s on the front would wear out for fun on the inside edges because of that camber.  Roadholding though.... I've not had many cars that I could throw into bends that fast!

Hey I think you're right Eddy. That could be a serious handicap for this old turd! I think it might be beyond patching up, if you're right it really needs new inner (and therefore outer) wings! Pricey.

Bollox, a family member is selling this for £6.5k. It's had necessary welding done last year, and maintained by a friend +- lorry specialist cousins. Tested until November.

To me it's a mad amount of money for a smokey old merc with a box and a chemical bog, but horses aren't cheap.

To be fair it looks decent enough, know what you mean about the money though. You can get a perfectly decent 57-plate 7.5-tonne box truck for 3k!!!

Still, worth a GIB

Coupehatch is ace. I used to see it every year at Doncaster racecourse, when I used to go to the festival of BRM.

It was indeed J-J's, at the time it was called Aphrodite.
