Looks like @andyberg's

I hadn't realised it had been written off :(

Yes it is/was mine. With all the stuff I am going through, mostly work related, I couldn’t be bothered arguing the point. Or indeed buying it back then trying to sell it. Yes I know people on here may possibly have wanted it but I just need to have as little stress and hassle as possible right now. I could have kept it but to me I would always look at the damage and it would make me sad. I couldnt afford to make the damage ‘ invisible’ that would take a virtual complete respray because matching almost 30 year old paint would be impossible. I bought the car because of what it was, I had an emotional attachment to it because of that, that has been taken away by some prick that couldn’t look properly before he emerged from a junction. Some may say I’m stupid for making this decision but it’s how I feel right now, my health and family come first. Hopefully someone will pick up a bargain and save it. I have even thought of stepping back from this forum for a bit. Sorry guys.

hey, its only a car.  Whatever is the right decision for you is what's important. I'm sure someone will take it on.

The senseless part isn't the pricing though.

The senseless part is that it's just a tax on the official fuel economy figure. It doesn't take into account the amount the car is used, unlike taxes on fuel.

Why tax the official fuel economy figure? If a car with low mpg is barely used, it'll use far less fuel overall than one with high mpg that does 50,000 miles per year.

We've got three cars, one zero, one megatax and one half way between so we're averaged out and I can suffer the megatax Saab.

Have driven a couple myself, dreadful things. The gearshift pattern was back to front and I was told to start off in 2nd gear and not use 1st. In that case, what is the point of it having a 1st gear if you don't actually use it? The later generation ones weren't much better...

Those 4 litre things were slow, but they had some torque in them and would pull off in second gear fully loaded.

Look at this little belter. Shame the original driver's seat isn't present, but you can't have everything.

I bought one of these back in 2007 - they are a lovely old thing to drive.  @r.welfare picked me up from the station if memory serves.

The one that took us down to a cold AS meet-up at Ace Cafe in the depths of winter?
