The stupid thing is that the air-cooled 500/126s had what was basically a motor bike engine in it. Any decent engineering mind should be able to fit any modern bike engine without cutting the rear bulk head. Knobs.

First you have to find a 'bike engine that isn't unit construction, i.e. the gearbox is a seperate unit.

That was a water cooled biz.

Anyone seen the 1969 film Play Dirty ?

Forty grand seems a bargain.  Mostly because there must be £39,500's worth of unleaded that comes with it.

Not much needed for a new ticket by the looks of it.

Credit to them for inheriting it and not immediately calling the local 'We Buy Scrap Cars' trader.

Deserves rescuing, I agree.

I think there's still a Fairey capstan winch fitted to it? Could be a 'method' for directing a rope onto the winch drum without using the roller*

*fun fact, the roller, well - it rolls. Really useful when you are unbolting a bonnet mounted spare whilst standing on the bumper. Ask me how I know....

No connection with the seller , but seems a decent old bus for pin money. Just needs a bloody good clean inside and out.

Paging @dollywobbler for some cheap content. Also @sutty2006 as think your mate was after some transport

Thanks!

I gave up trying to negotiate that website

No idea, I just thought it looked a bit like a pyramid. If anything it would have got in the way of the Capstan Winch as I’m sure from when my dad used them you had to loop the rope around a couple of times and keep tension on the end of the rope (opposite end of what your pulling) otherwise the drum wouldn’t grip the rope and just spin, this is going from memory though
