Also, also -

on these xud’s if the cams snapped the valves will be fine. The way the valves sit straight above  the rising piston means they often only snap a couple (or all!) rocker arms and may or may not snap the cam. So,  more often than not new cam and rockers and time it up with a new belt and away you go*

*ideally. it’s not 100% of them time, but quite often

DAF 3300 - Picture 1 of 22

Must be a rare old thing.  Drove the odd Daf 2800 unit round a yard now and then, they seemed pretty good.

Cheap Ami project for the right person ( ie not wanting to make a profit I think ).

That Sierra is marvellous - I love how his extensive write up fails to even mention the dashboard switch lash up.

Unbelievable they haven't mentioned FS1E or SS50 in the title, the hits would go through the roof if they did imho.

A contender for the "Mile High Club" thread. Fairly base spec with the single rectangular headlamps.

300,000 mile Volkswagen Scirocco 1.8 GTX

Oh.

But apparently a GTX... Suspect, given the wheels and headlight blanks, that it isn't

Christ, that's magnificent

EDIT: just googled the reg number and that's one I saw at either Fotu or Bromley Pageant last year.  It was a probate sale that they sent through a normal auction house and not a car auction so hardly anyone saw it come up for sale. Remember it looked like a really nice one

Looks great, but how unexceptional is it at £3000?

Knocker-powered camper van.  Looks a bit of a bargain at £6K.  Engine noise alone is worth that.

Isn't that a Duple body too?  Best of all worlds.

Could be A lemon lol. Bet hes hidden the reg plate so we don't do VED lookups (Auto so wont be cheap).

I'm guessing £415 tax a year - 2.0 and 2.5 auto petrols of that age are that.  Doubt it's a 3.0 and even if it is they might not have been any more.  IIRC the big jump came for 2006 on.
